Freddie had a gift, he could sing across 4 different octaves Low F (bass) F2 to High F (soprano) F6. That is why his music and singing is so great on the ears. He was a true artisan at his craft, and sorely missed.
He also knew exactly what notes he'd be capable of hitting on a night while performing, as with any singer you aren't guaranteed to always hit the high notes. He'd adjust the songs on the fly to make sure he could hit the notes.

Freddie was, in his life, the greatest entertainer to ever grace any stage he walked on. Over 30 years since his death and very few have ever been as good as him, in my opinion.
Here we go Miss Confusion .. I knew you would land on this song. This Queen song , is my favorite Rock N Roll song of all time ! Thank you .. Thank you 🔥🔥🎼🔥🔥 Freddie Mercury is the best front man of all time .. his rise is miraculous, and his fall is so devastating. But .. the songs will always play on . The entire band is unbelievably talented. Such a great choice. 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🎼🔥🎼🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
You just watched pure greatness, from four pure talented musicians in the GOAT band with the GOAT frontman. Freddie was not a dancer but honed his stage craft over the years from an early age. He was born to perform and perform he did. The best there was and the best that there ever will be. Legend. R.I.P. Freddie, greatly missed but never ever forgotten.
As a student, Freddie enjoyed sports; his unique moves are attributed to his training as a boxer (a sport he especially loved). No one throws a punch more gracefully than Freddie Mercury. RIP, dahling Freddie.
Glad somebody remembers that point!! Most people make the false assumption that because Freddie was gay and a musician, that he was unathletic. Freddie was a competitive boxer and cricketer back in India. Amazing what people could accomplish in the pre-internet days.....
Roger on drums provides the high vocals. Seriously educated in graphic design, astrophysics, biology, electronics, all 4 went to university. Freddie a treasure. Miss him. Watch the movie, fabulous. LOVE your reaction. 🎉😊
omg if you don't go watch more Queen right now I'm going to cry. You have discovered one of the best and your musical journey with Freddie shall be epic.
Freddie had the most incredible voice in the universe. There won't ever be another like him. And it wasn't just those cheekbones. He was a genuinely beautiful-to-look-at human being. It's been so long now since he passed away, and I still miss him.
He was one-in-a-billion, talented, charismatic and full of passion. Gone way too soon but an inspiration to many and left us with a ton of great music.
A Queen concert is an experience. I was fortunate enough to recently see them in their last tour, with Adam Lambert as the lead singer. There are no words.
This is the best ever live footage of Queen. It was filmed in Montreal in 1981. Moblevision developed technology to create a traveling IMAX show with a 5 story movie image. They approached Queen about filming them and eventually Freddy agreed. They wanted to shoot all band members so they used 8 cameras. They had to rotate 3-4 of 8 cameras each filled with with a 10 minute roll of 35 mm Kodak film. They also had people running back and forth to the cameras and a guy next to each cameraman to load the film and pull the focus. The cameras used double anamorphic lenses to squeeze as much detail onto the film as possible. There was no way to say take 1, take 2, etc. when filming so automatic slating was used to create an ID tag for every shot of film. It was the first time automatic slating was ever used. Many years later 700 Apple Mac G5’s spent one MONTH processing the film. A computation compared each frame with the ones before it and the ones after it to remove dirt, scratches and some of the defects of the original filming.
Was, going to say something about it being shot on 35mm film, but you said it far better. Thank you. Because Freddie didn't follow the trend, he lead the field. Being the part of something bigger & bolder, is right up his alley. & Being 1st to do so. - Even Better.
Funny enough, there is a rumor the band (in special Freddie, it kind of explains his death glare at the first seconds of this song) wasn't happy about the way they did it, bothering them, entering their way, invading their space, leaving a mess of cables, rolls and cameras, and basically disrupting their performance. But indeed, like you very elloquently explained why, it was the best ever live footage of Queen.
The best part, no matter how good resolution our screens become, if they still have the original, this will always look HD. The original should be preserved and kept for all time
Great reaction Britt welcome to the legendary Uk 🇬🇧 band Queen , I attended many Queen live concerts in the 1980s,they are famous for their flamboyant live performances, all the members of Queen have Written No 1 hits and they have a vast catalog of amazing songs and anthems, Freddie Mercury the lead vocals, their greatest hits album is still today the best selling album of all time in the United Kingdom, they have sold over 300 million records, and they were all amazing musicians, all the members of Queen had universally degrees and bachelor credits to their names, please react to Queen at Live Aid in 1985 they had a 22 minute slot on stage and out of 20 bands and artists that performed for charity that day Queen were the best and stole the show, Freddie Mercury always played to the crowds and had the crowds in the palm of his hand, thanks 🙏
If you ever want to see an 80,000 crowd pumped up to Freddie like you just got, then please please do a reaction to Queen at Live Aid. (The whole of it, not just the intro Bohemian Rhapsody) I promise you wont regret it. The most fabulous display of crowd emotion, vibe and a goose bumping moment in musical history....Ever!
Oh yeah, everyone must watch this performance of a lifetime! Like the rest of the Queenies, I've watched Live Aid hundreds of times and I'm not stopping anytime soon. ❤👑🙃
Lets not forget the GreenDay concert where 65000 teenagers and 20 somethings sang Bohemian Rhapsody as it was being played over the loud speaker. A song released before some of their parents were born, by an artist who died before they were born.
The best part about Queen, is that ALL members were amazing musicians AND every single one of them could have been a lead singer. Their voices together are pure magic.
The ONLY reason I watched Live Aid was to see Queen. Even though it only on television, I felt that Freddie had the whole world in the palm of his hand, and it was a beautiful thing to witness.
Freddie was not a dancer but he did box as a kid. Anyone who boxes knows that weeks and weeks of training go into footwork, being light on your feet and being smooth. It shows with him.
Both boxing and ballet are evident in the way he moves. If you know anything about boxing or ballet. Some movements are pure boxing and I think he would have been good but Freddie would not damage the face. His build at this time also hints about his background.
As someone who Grew up with Queen it's really nice to see Someone's 1st time reaction There was a decade when Queen was the Most beloved band in the world, Freddie Mercury to this day is considered one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time, There is a movie called Bohemian Rhapsody, That movie will enlighten you to the greatness of Queen.. Congrats on 50K it's been fun watching your channel grow...✌️
If you have never heard this guy before. freddy was one of the greatest rock Stars of our time and his vocal range was astonishing. I met him once when I was a young security Guy and he was amazingly nice
This is the music of my childhood. My parents say that Queen concerts were the best they’ve been to. Queen are still very loved here in the UK even 30 + years on.
This concert was recorded on 35mm film. That's why it looks so good. The band actually hated doing the concert, but I think it's a blessing having such high quality recordings of them in their prime.
For everyone that's never seen/heard queen (especially live), I'm happy your here and you deserve to hear this mans beautiful voice live instead of the recordings
Loved this reaction. Been loving queen since '76❤❤❤ when i first discovered him. I also LOVE his voice, showmanship, his muscles and his command of the songs & stage!! Yes- like a flamingo!! Just love all around. Thanks for posting!
You’ve finally gotten to the most impressive band ever! You HAVE to look up the Live Aid concert..it is AMAZING! No one could command an audience like Freddie Mercury.
Discovering this video a year later and just loved the journey you went on through this. Freddie Mercury was a legend of a human being, and we'll never see his like again. What a band, what a performance. Beautiful.
RIP Freddie. One of the greatest voices in rock music. "The greatest live performance ever" was when Queen performed in Live Aid 1985. It was aired all over the world, and I watched it on television that day ... 🙂
I've have so very much fun watching folks be turned on to this man and band in all his fabulosity. There is nor will there ever be someone like him. He literally gave everything he had to us. I see that you quickly hippy-hopped over to a number of his performances...wise woman. Not sure if you got around to his Live Aid performance. Hope so.
Freddy Mercury was one of the all time greats. So many songs that are still being played today. If you've been to a sports event, you've probably heard Another One Bites the Dust and We are the Champions.
Queen has probably the most talented band members to have ever lived. Each member has written several timeless number hits for the band. Each member has an insane amount of talent at what they do and more. The members can play an instrument and sing. The drummer is 100% so talented if he had been a part of any other band he would have been the front man but he is a part of the queen and their talent as a frontman is still unchallenged today. Off the stage, several members have respectable college degrees that if they would not have been in Queen they would have had successful lives.
As I got into astrophotography and of course being Queen-fan I was fascinated by that story. Their guitarist Brian May not only had a master in astrophysics but even finished his theses (is that what the next step is called?) and turned it in a few years ago. He had built his own aparatus for measuring something that's way above my understanding and personally put it up on some mountain, did the measurements, the math, the writing ...
Never seen a BETTER reaction to Queen than this one ❤ Freddie was and probably will always be the greatest live performer/ entertainer ever. God bless you Freddie ❤
This is such an incredible performance of this song, Freddie nails it and Roger (drums) is singing along in much of a duet (the high notes are him) with Freddie. Brian is also in there on the backup vocals. All the instruments are performing at top levels. Queen is such a well rehearsed and tight band, I have loved them since their beginnings. Thank you for your reaction,
That ladies and gentlemen is what a musical group looks and sounds like live, no auto tune or prerecorded backing tracks just 4 guys, at the top of their game putting on a show! So glad I was born in 1962 because I got to live during the greatest period of live music and enjoyed every minute of it! P.S. the first album I ever bought was Queen’s “A Night at the Opera” in 1976. Freddie, Brian, John and Roger I thank you!

That man was the epitome of rockstar frontmen. The whole band was amazing but Freddie was a legend on another level and truly one of a kind. Im sure he came into this world dancing..you cant teach what he had.
My first bigtime rock concert at age 16 was Queen (Night at the Opera tour). In the subsequent nearly 50 years, I've very rarely seen anything on stage that exceeded it. The band was so tight, and Freddie's talent was truly something to behold. The term "rock star" is tossed around too lightly these days. These guys exemplified it.
As a Canadian, when my dad was still a young adult, he was there at Montreal during the concert. He said it was one of the greatest moments of his life ! It is thanks to him I became a Queen fan since I was 7. The group loved their music so much, so it's always great to see new people from different generations discover that group ! Take care y'all btw ! 😊
Otherwordly greatness might the best description I have ever heard to describe Queen! Freddie Mercury is arguably the greatest frontman of all time. Please check out more of his work, you will be amazed. Innuendo and Too Much Love Will Kill You are just two of my favourites.
They literally were as far as I'm concerned one of the greatest and ground breaking groups in modern history and Freddie is missed by millions of Queen fans all over the the world, ❤😢 thankyou for your great insightful reactions
Loved your reaction to this. Queen was an incredible band, and maybe with the greatest variation in their songs. All the band members wrote songs, and they all sang (but Freddie was of course the lead singer). Many people from USA believe they don't know any songs by Queen, and still they happily sing 'We will rock you' and 'We are the Champions' in sport events. BTW, the guy with the hair you like is Brian May (who in 2007 got a phd in astrophysics) and his hair still looks much the same now that he is 75 years old, except that it has turned white/grey.
It great to see somebody getting into this highly talent band in their first time listening to them. Everybody in the band killed it vocally while still doing their part playing an instrument and then Freddie is hands down one of the best if not the best all around vocalist of all time. It’s nice seeing some appreciation and new fans of my all time favorite band
One of the most remarkable collections of musical ability ever assembled. Freddie Mercury, Brian May on guitar, John Deacon on Bass, and Roger Taylor on drums. All four members among the best in their fields. All four members wrote hit songs for the group. All four could sing. May has a PhD in astrophysics. Deacon is an electrical engineer and would build gear for the band. Just so much talent. This footage was shot for a film about the band which was never completed, but I am so thankful we have it today.
This came on the radio just yesterday and I had to crank it up. It was said that his jaw line and over-bite was due to him having two extra sets of molars, which he claimed helped with his singing. He was definitely the greatest showman to grace the stage. Between Queen and his solo career, he has made musical history and influenced generations to come.
Fantastic reaction!!!! Queen was phenomenal. Such immense talent in one group. When you do react to "Who Wants to Live Forever," please do the official video. Freddie had a gift, he could sing across 4 different octaves Low F (bass) F2 to High F (soprano) F6. That is why his music and singing is so great on the ears. He was a true artisan at his craft, and sorely missed.
Yeah, amazing what talent and vocal training will make an excellent front man.
And thankfully one time Queen & Bowie got together to create a song. Bowie & Freddie "Under Pressure."
Saw em every year 77 to 81. We had no idea we were witnessing history then. They rocked us properly.
@@kerrissedai6857 Talent, he def had but Freddie had no formal vocal training.
He also knew exactly what notes he'd be capable of hitting on a night while performing, as with any singer you aren't guaranteed to always hit the high notes. He'd adjust the songs on the fly to make sure he could hit the notes.
They were filming this concert for a video. That's why the quality. Queen is arguably, the best LIVE band to ever hit the stage.
Queen are unreal. One of the greatest bands of all time imo. Please check more out. Freddie was the ultimate showman.
Absolutely!
Four instruments,
Five microphones,
Four brilliant musicians.
No autotune.
Welcome to 1981✌
I don't watch tv I watch reaction videos. I love watching all types of people from different backgrounds discover great music. I have been subscribed to you for about 2 weeks now and I have to tell you that you have quickly become my favorite reactor. I love the way you appreciate the music and the artist. your personality is infectious and your smile makes your joy shine through. I love how you work to understand the lyrics and how not much slips past you. Keep up the great videos young lady.
I concur wholeheartedly!!!
Same here
Yep, me too! (On both counts.)
The best front man of any band in history. Nobody, and I do mean nobody, could capture and command an audience like Freddie Mercury.
AMEN!
so true
I miss, queen so much. Such an amazing band. Freddy was awesome.
Freddie was, in his life, the greatest entertainer to ever grace any stage he walked on. Over 30 years since his death and very few have ever been as good as him, in my opinion.
Just imagine the epic music that could still be being produced if not taken too soon
When Freddie was alive England was ruled by two queens ❤
You just watched pure greatness, from four pure talented musicians in the GOAT band with the GOAT frontman. Freddie was not a dancer but honed his stage craft over the years from an early age. He was born to perform and perform he did. The best there was and the best that there ever will be. Legend. R.I.P. Freddie, greatly missed but never ever forgotten.
Go Irish!!!, don’t think you can tell but the blue jacket I’m wearing is an Irish jacket!!!
Brian May is such an underrated guitarist!
Definitely the greatest front man in rock music, with a four octave vocal range.
@@richardsimpson9039 absolutely agree.
the greatest with 6 however is Mike Patton.
@@seandan7873 Indeed & Mike Patton never gets the credit he deserves for his vocal abilities.
I love learning new stuff from watching these videos and reading the comments! ❤️✌️
Don't forget he was into ballet. I don't know if he evrr had lessons
@@geerttaelemans657 Freddie was truly a Renaissance man, with interests as varied and eclectic as he himself was
Roger on drums provides the high vocals.
Seriously educated in graphic design, astrophysics, biology, electronics, all 4 went to university.
Freddie a treasure. Miss him.
Watch the movie, fabulous.
LOVE your reaction. 🎉😊
You will love their story .. and their catalog of incredible music.. start the rabbit hole !! 🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🌎♟️🌎♟️🌎♟️🌎♟️🌎♟️🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼
omg if you don't go watch more Queen right now I'm going to cry.
Did I hear he could sing 2 tones at once?
@@daveeddy2402 like William Wallace
You have not heard of Mark Martel, The only human that could ever come close to Freddy.
Spot on!
really nice info. thanks
The best part, no matter how good resolution our screens become, if they still have the original, this will always look HD. The original should be preserved and kept for all time
Great reaction Britt welcome to the legendary Uk 🇬🇧 band Queen , I attended many Queen live concerts in the 1980s,they are famous for their flamboyant live performances, all the members of Queen have Written No 1 hits and they have a vast catalog of amazing songs and anthems, Freddie Mercury the lead vocals, their greatest hits album is still today the best selling album of all time in the United Kingdom, they have sold over 300 million records, and they were all amazing musicians, all the members of Queen had universally degrees and bachelor credits to their names, please react to Queen at Live Aid in 1985 they had a 22 minute slot on stage and out of 20 bands and artists that performed for charity that day Queen were the best and stole the show, Freddie Mercury always played to the crowds and had the crowds in the palm of his hand, thanks 🙏
you're reacting to what is considered by many as one of the greatest live performances of all time. you are rightfully in awe, as is everyone else.
🏆This was nice! It's the drummer, Roger Taylor, who is hitting all of those high notes!😊
This is one of the Top 70s songs ever and that says a 1000 TONS
The best part about Queen, is that ALL members were amazing musicians AND every single one of them could have been a lead singer. Their voices together are pure magic.
The ONLY reason I watched Live Aid was to see Queen. Even though it only on television, I felt that Freddie had the whole world in the palm of his hand, and it was a beautiful thing to witness.
Freddie was not a dancer but he did box as a kid. Anyone who boxes knows that weeks and weeks of training go into footwork, being light on your feet and being smooth. It shows with him.
He did dance. He took ballet
Both boxing and ballet are evident in the way he moves. If you know anything about boxing or ballet. Some movements are pure boxing and I think he would have been good but Freddie would not damage the face. His build at this time also hints about his background.
This is the greatest live vocal performance of any song of all time.
As someone who Grew up with Queen it's really nice to see Someone's 1st time reaction
There was a decade when Queen was the Most beloved band in the world, Freddie Mercury to this day is considered one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time, There is a movie called Bohemian Rhapsody, That movie will enlighten you to the greatness of Queen.. Congrats on 50K it's been fun watching your channel grow...✌️
It's really nice to see Roger Taylor (drummer) get kudos for his performance, the whole band have amazing vocals but Freddie was otherworldly.
I agree Roger is a gifted singer with a slightly greater range than Freddie which is rarely acknowledged.
@@janetcarlson9960 Don't be silly
@@MARTIN-bd7gm Not being silly. Roger had counter tenor range and sang the higher parts in all the harmony work
@MARTIN-bd7gm it is true. Roger sang the higher parts most of the time. He sang the higher parts in bohemian rhapsody.
Taylor could have been a lead vocal. He is so very good.
Queen is so perfect, tears of joy in my eyes the entire time I listen to them. Love you Freddie!!
If you have never heard this guy before. freddy was one of the greatest rock Stars of our time and his vocal range was astonishing. I met him once when I was a young security Guy and he was amazingly nice
Do tell. Was he as shy as everyone said he was?
This is the music of my childhood. My parents say that Queen concerts were the best they’ve been to. Queen are still very loved here in the UK even 30 + years on.
Nothing but the only possible reaction. I wish I could listen to it for the first time every of my life
This concert was recorded on 35mm film. That's why it looks so good. The band actually hated doing the concert, but I think it's a blessing having such high quality recordings of them in their prime.
The filming company tried to restrict the audience participation and noise which really went against the grain for the band
Welcome to the genius of Queen! Please keep going with them.
You’ve finally gotten to the most impressive band ever! You HAVE to look up the Live Aid concert..it is AMAZING! No one could command an audience like Freddie Mercury.
Now that's a voice nobody will ever be able to copy. Queen and Freddie were my favourite band then, now, and forever more. RIP Freddie forever missed.
it's always a pleasure to see someone discovering QUEEN for the first time. The reactions are multiple and never negative.
The fabulousness of Freddie Mercury. Legend is an over used word but Freddie was one of the exceptions to the rule. Great reaction Britt 🥰
Greatest singer and Greatest Frontman EVER! R.I.P. Freddie still so sadly missed 😢
You have just stumbled upon the best band ever. Freddie is the GOAT!!! Queen was my first concert ever. Nobody can beat them live.
Wait until you see a video of them live at Wembly Stadium .. Britt .. it will Rock You .. hugely.. remarkably.. the goose bumps will be visiting you.

Yes, that crowd was immense
As others have said, 1985 Queen Live Aid is one of the finest live performances you will EVER see. Great reaction!
the sheer audacity tellin' a black woman that a white band is one of the finest performances she'll ever see, completely disregarding her people's musical acts 🤦🏿♂
@@cameron6249 the sheer audacity is your linking this to race.
@@cameron6249 fun fact:

Queen was NOT a “White” band!
@@SemiDad no, you linked it to race by dismissing her peoples artist. you don't have to name a race to make a racist comment!
@@SemiDad so you're sayin' freddy was the band. queen is definitely an appropriate name for the band considering the front man 🤣, but he was not the band. he was the only non white, so yes they were a white band!
Your reaction when Freddie pops up with the broken mic stand.. priceless..
That man was the epitome of rockstar frontmen. The whole band was amazing but Freddie was a legend on another level and truly one of a kind. Im sure he came into this world dancing..you cant teach what he had.
#1singer ever = Freddie Mercury! #2nd best singer ever = Roger Taylor!
The only band I will always be sad to not have had the chance to see live! It must have been the ultimate experience!
It was. I saw them in November, 1978, at the Richfield Coliseum outside Cleveland, OH.
This is one of the reasons our high school years had some of the best music ever
I have to say, you are the most fun to watch in your reactions. You feel it all and I jumped in with ya. Keep it going Ms Britt.
This is one of the most spectacular live performances by a band and a lead singer I've ever seen.
Amen!
quite possibly the only live performance you've ever seen 🤣
Legit comment
I think this is the best live version of this song. Freddie and Queen were and are incredible. I was fortunate to see them twice in concert!
Great reaction! The whole Queen performance on "Live Aid" next, please. You will not regret it. 😊
Freddie... may he rest in peace.
He was really special talented. And Queen was just an amazing band.
Blessed to live in the time of Freddie and Queen, hearing Bohemian Rhapsody as a 15 year old back in 1975 blew my tiny mind.
I'm so glad that you enjoyed this. Although he had no formal training, his voice was good enough to sing opera.
Otherwordly greatness might the best description I have ever heard to describe Queen! Freddie Mercury is arguably the greatest frontman of all time. Please check out more of his work, you will be amazed. Innuendo and Too Much Love Will Kill You are just two of my favourites.
There has been and will never be another Freddie Mercury. Truly unique and one of the greatest, if not THE greatest singers and front men of all time!
They literally were as far as I'm concerned one of the greatest and ground breaking groups in modern history and Freddie is missed by millions of Queen fans all over the the world, ❤😢 thankyou for your great insightful reactions
you dont just lay back and listen to queen, you experience it, you feel it, you revel in the power of it
No harmonizer, No playback, No one can touch this performance level.
And because Freddy wouldn't shave his 'stash Roger was the Cutest in Drag!
@James Alexander Roger was the cutest period. The running joke is that Roger got all the girls. Of course none of the others was competing with him.
John didn’t sing, but he did build the most amazing amp for Brian called the Deacy amp.
Please do more of Queen. You'll definitely love this band
the single greatest vocal performer to ever live. Freddie is *the* best there ever was or will be.
And he refused to 'fix' his teeth in case it affected his voice, which it very well might have done.
Fantastic reaction!!!! Queen was phenomenal. Such immense talent in one group. When you do react to "Who Wants to Live Forever," please do the official video. The live performances are incredible, yes, but I love the contrast in the studio version. Also, you cannot skip the Live Aid performance. Just incredible.
