Blender is like a little kid learning from the elder's mistake and growing like a light speed. I can't imagine what it will reach after some years. -Proud Blender-ian(lol)
Haha I like that analogy
>Proud Blender-ian
In the old forums the Blender users used to call themselves "blenderheads" ;)
@@andycuccaro lol let's change something then xD
I don't think you know how old is blender
@@bismuth6558 I'm not talking interms of year
My story is.. I've been using blender for the past 4 years. Before that literally had no idea about animation 3d renders or anything.
And now I'm working with Porsche, Volkswagen, skoda. I still can't believe that i would reach this much far.
Thanks to blender. And yes learning it, it can change your life.
Blender is amazing.
That's so cool! Congratulations!
holy shit working for porsche would be a dream, glad to know you made it so far with blender!
Blender is really impressive, can't even imagine what comes next :3
It absolutely is!
I dont know.. still long way..
I remember starting out with Blender v2.64 and how long it took me to figure out how that brick worked. It was frustrating, slow and the UI was horrible, but I loved every seccond of it. Fast forward to today and the Software is barely recognisable from what I started out with. It's incredible how much the Blender Foundation has improved and optimised Blender in such a relatively short timespan. I never thought this clunky and hard to use 3D Software would eventually grow into this multifunctional production powerhouse. Blender is the only software wich makes me feel like there are infinite possibilities within (besides Minecraft), like this video demonstrated, you can use it for 2d animation, 2 1/2D animation, 3D animation, simulations, modeling, texturing, texure painting, rigging... heck it even has a built in video editor and a compositor. And dont you think I forgot about all the procedural stuff, people like CGMatter have demonstrated time and time again that you can basically make anything procedural with geometry and shader nodes. Infinite variations of something at the click of a button, incredible.
Goated Blender comment.
It's so enjoyable, helpful, and revealing to see the conference through someone else's eyes, especially via artists such as yourself whom I respect and whose perspective I greatly admire. Thank you for sharing your experience. ✌️
Thanks for the kind words. Really appreciate that!
Reason why I love the spider verse so much as well. They’re willing to try any style and media to create such a creative movie. Next one is gonna be hype
Absolutely! It's so incredibly artistic and unique. Love it!
Each year Blender Conference blows my mind. Haha it was nice seeing you guys together. Don't know when will I come to a blender con. 😅
Hopefully some day!
Thank you for mentioning my presentation! We need to talk next year 😊
No worries, it was a great talk. Very inspiring artworks. And yes we definitely should! 🙏🏻
Man, I wish I could have been there this year!
Oh yeah it would've been so amazing to meet up finally!
Great summary and nice to see another perspective with different interests and different highlights of the conference! Props for the awesome video and editing 💯!
Thanks a lot! Appreciate the kind words. ❤️
the accessibility and open source format of blender is incredible. everyone can pick it up and create something. its so encouraging knowing you dont have to sink money into your passion. blender is simply awesome. theres so many fields where free software usually is way stripped down and technically way behind paid software but i would argue that blender is in many aspects just as fully fledged as some paid software.
Well said! Blender is free for everyone, forever!
Love the videos! Keep doing what you do!
Thanks! Will do!
What a nice aesthetic this video has! Also, I love your new studio
Thank you mate! Appreciate it :-D
Thank you for the heads up!
*2:15* swole doge is in the top 10 things ever made in blender
lol facts
Blender is the best i finally moved on into it from C4d and i am learning Blender now
Niiice welcome to the club
I wonder if it is possible to make a node only director, for eg: an animated short? The nodes control all aspects, the camera, the duration of each node, NLA settings, snippets of timeline animation. Starting node--> preparation load background, activate spaceship, activate retro rockets, activate move clouds, start location of camera, Starting rendering. Kinda thing.
Oh wow maybe it could be possible, but right now definitely not. Its an interesting idea though!
fantastic talk video, thank you!
Thank you! 🤗
Best part of the vid: 4:01 XD 😂
EDIT: I love cinematography so I'm excited to see what you might have lined up in the future hehe.
Haha lil Smeaf promo! And yeah i need to learn a lot more about it myself! Ang recommended content/courses?
@@KaizenTutorials haha. 😜And about courses... honestly watching videos NOT related to Blender on film and lighting are normally the best.
I think I learned the most about lighting by picking up real lights and wishing I had more expensive equipment. When I got back into Blender I realized how spoiled I was. Same with finding finding appealing angles. I can try to send you some videos in discord later if you want. Tomorrow's Filmmakers helped me out a lot when I was getting started though.
@@WW_Studios Yeah that'd be awesome!
It was a blast meeting you, Kaizen!
Likewise mate!
Your video helped me shorten my BCON watchlist. Thanks!👍
Awesome, enjoy your talks!
Don't do that, you will miss a lot.
I know, i just added the video ones in the must watch list. Now i know which one are definitely important to me. I will check the entire BCON playlist briefly to find any other good talks. :)@@rajendrameena150
super nice recap, cheers

Just started getting into Blender, had i gotten into it a bit earlier i'd have gone to this conference 100%
Next year!
@@KaizenTutorials bet! From this video i atleast managed to find some fellow dutch Blender(ers) and followed 'em on linkedin
One day I will have to come to Amsterdam for a blender conference... because it would definitely be nice... apart from the fact that Amsterdam is a nice city ;D
Love it! Hope to see you there then 🙌🏻
Don't bring a car, then the city instantly stops being nice 😂.
2:31 a way I would put ai into words that are simple is “it’s a tool, NOT a replacement”
Well said!
About the copyright letter, even if that were distribution as long as you don't modify it, you can just point to the main git repo and if you change something, only the people you give access to have a right to get your modifications.
Yep!
Blender changes culture! Thanks to more artists because of Blender, so today we have deeper and wider arts.
So true!
no way you whipped out the sonic unleashed music! You're a G for that haha. Loved the video btw!
Absolute bangers! And thank you :-D
Using Windmill Isle (Night) as a BGM? A man of culture, indeed 🧐
Absolute banger!
I made a Donut, i made some rought music video effects and played around a bit, i follow and watch a lot of blender creators, but damn i would never have thought that i'd be proud to be involved with blender for "so long" now. What a community! Love from Germany
Because it's a great community, so what's not to be proud of right? :-D Cheers from the Netherlands!
Awesome Stuff!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!
Question: Where can I find the presentation on simulating biological cells? That's a research interest of mine and I would love the opportunity to learn more about what is being done on that front, especially if it is encapsulated conveniently within the Blender software.

ok, after watching Mutanga's video i knew I wanted to be a part of this community and this video is me officially being fully invested

Hello there! I've been thinking about a cgcookie annual plan. Will there be any black Friday sales coming up?
I'm not sure if CGCookie will be doing any sales, but they do have a 50% off for the 1st year if you're a student! support.cgcookie.com/article/274-do-you-offer-any-student-and-or-educator-discounts
@@KaizenTutorials Oh! That's wonderful! Is the discount for the monthly or annual plan? (This might be a silly question)
@tcrmnk6370 annual plan I believe!
I had so much fun!! Sadly I din't have the chance to chat with u, next year 4 sure!!
Ah dang! Yeah flag me down next year for sure. :-D
3:18 oh no I don't have the OptiX option in the Passes field. I'm using rtx 3060 12gb version.
You dont? That's weird! Make sure to install proper RTX game ready drivers.
@@KaizenTutorials Thanks. I have the latest game ready driver. Maybe this is a feature isn't available for rtx 3060. The top field has optix option though. Weird.
I just started learning blender a few days ago using a tutorial series on Skillshare. It being a slightly outdated tutorial, it didn't mention anything about changing the Cycles Render Device. Upon completion of that series, my render took about 4.5 minutes to complete. I happen to have a 3060ti so just changed my render device to OptiX and it cut down the render time for the same exact scene to 31.6 Seconds! That's insane!
That's awesome, glad this little tip helps out so much!
yo, there are lots of quality tuts in yt..dont spend so early...after you realise you can build good stuff in blender, then spending is justifiable... paid tuts only teach to build specific stuff eg to build a house or build a car. if you follow only those paid tuts on skillshare or udemy you will find gap in knowledge
@kousik8042 Never said I only did ones on skillshare plus it's one nominal fee for everything on there. You don't pay for each individual course. I use it for a variety of skills. Good advice otherwise.
4:04 sorry to point this out here... but I 've never seen such results with Nvidia RTX Super resolution. am I missing something?
Are you sure you have it enabled? For me it really improves my YT video quality.
@@KaizenTutorials really? I can show you what I see

Really amazed me after getting an rtx card how good optix is!

My twentieth conference. What a journey...
Crazy, that's so cool!
We’re any of the conferences live streamed ?
No! But they’re all recorded.
As someone who completed a donut, this is impressive!
It is for sure!
I use Optix with my GTX1060 and it made a huge difference
Yeah they updated their old cards to be able to use Optix too! It's really nice.
The blender channel posted like 100 videos on blender con T.T do you know any about photo realism other then asjørn’s(polyfjords)?
Gleb Alexandrovs one is about photorealism through photoscanning, but that's about it
I'm gonna make a video too on this similar topic cuz blender has helped me made a lot of money
Thats great, Blender opens up so many possibilities
AI video is the future.
If you mean AI art then thats complete bullshit

Diving a lot more into cinematography? Sounds like a great plan. Might want to get yourself a VCR player, CRT TV(optional), and collection of movies and cartoons. Maybe take a look at Grandma's photo album with her while you're at it, she'll appreciate the company and you can sneakily study all kinds of things.
haha nice, good ideas!

How does people participate in blender conferences?
You can buy tickets sometime before it starts. Anyone can buy them and you can find them at conference.blender.org

Uh oh spudoodio. Time to switch it up then!
How can one attend BCON?
Tickets are usually available some time before it starts at conference.blender.org
Blender 4.0 is out already!
Yes, but not at the time of posting this video :-)

lol
The copyright issue on things created with Blender is still an interesting issue, because plugins made FOR blender do in fact need to be open source due to the GPL. If that means that content created WITH those tools need to be open source, I highly doubt it but that's for a court to decide.
I understand what you mean, but as Ton explained it that’s not how it works. But yeah thats for lawyers etc to find out haha
blender ftw

Fed up with AI? It's only just begun baby!

And the world is worse off because of it.
I have convinced 3 of my friends to use Blender.
Doing the world a favor, nice

Hehe, try Rip X, AI separated stem separation. Instead of 23 minutes for a separation, done in under 2 minutes. And Kok was the prime minister for about a decade. Gleb's mustache is the biggest reveal.
Awesome!
As I worked as a professional with Blender 10 years ago, everybody was laughing and tried to convince me for using another software, but I loved it too much. I'm proud of what it's become and hope those people are regreting their opinion now.
That's awesome. We've come a long way and now we're getting to the top of the mountain and it's time for us to look down on the rest haha

That kid inspired me
An absolute inspiration for sure!
Today's generative models are as close to AI as a Telsa is to fully autonomously driving. Both are insane feats of ingenuity but there's no general AI.
Once you realize this, it should be much clearer that these models cannot replace a human artist.
Besides if "authentic" social media influencers show anything is that humans crave human content.
Great video, wish I could have gone
I agree that humans absolutely crave human content! Hopefully you're able to attend next year :-)
will 2024 be the year when blender becomes industry standard?
I think it could very well be. To me the adoption begins at schools. There's more and more schools seeing the benefits of Blender and open source, which in turn will ensure better adoption in the industry.
@@KaizenTutorials amen 4 that
Is it reasonable to be wary of the fact that big companies are heading into blender as a main source? It kinds forces the market of blender to change, right?
How do you figure that? Blender is blender, no matter what. Their GPL doesn't allow much change in any regard besides just improving upon the software and making it more accessible to anyone
@@KaizenTutorials It's just a concern I have with the way they're talking about what big companies own - money tends to become the focus and ruines what was once good - For example, Unity.
after watching these amazing people i feel useless
Nah! Don't feel useless, feel inspired. All of these people started out being complete noobs, bad at Blender and having to learn the ropes. And yet they became amazing. So you can too!
@@KaizenTutorials
1. Feel inspired.

Hey Kaizen!
Bro can you make more animation Videos Please ...
What type of animation?
@@KaizenTutorials best Product Animation only in Timeline not Graph Editor ... But Remember that all the technics are Use in One Video Please .
Yes, blender was used on some parts of Spider-Verse, specially on the manually painted frames on some shots but the movie user many 3D packages and it was really put together in Nuke with all of the visual effects that it is known for so the thumbnail is very misleading. Source? there are many talks from the artists showing how they made it. Blender was like a 5%.
That's true, but in my opinion 'made with' doesn't mean exclusively. If a burger says 'made with love' does that mean it's an imaginary, invisible burger, or is it just a burger made with good intent? :-)
The entire Anime of NieR Automata is made in Blender

People aren't sick of AI, they are sick of *Generative* AI. That (Gen AI) is the problem.
Yeah they're sick of AI generating art that takes us hours to make, based on the hard work of others without credit or compensation.
@@KaizenTutorials 100%. I'm sick of it too. We now even have to resort to programs protecting our art from ai scraping just so companies cannot take advantage of us and exploit us. :/
@@KaizenTutorials 100%, it's absolutely fucking vile that it's legal and I wish the absolute worst for the people who are trying to steal peoples passion and hobbies so their fat asses along with mega coorps can save a few bucks here and there. There should ABSOLUTELY be laws put in place to stop AI art and have it so only artists that directly consent can contribute their art towards AI. That shits not happening though, the only people who support AI art are lazy nolife's too lazy to do fucking anything by themselves or too lazy to put any effort into getting good at something so they want to automate it.
