I was there in June of this year, and the only disadvantage to the lounge is there is no bording announcements and if you fall asleep you could easily miss your flight. However saying that it is a very nice lounge and if you're got lots of time during the layover then its definitely worth upgrading to business class.
Hi James thanks for watching. Yes you are right no flight announcements. There are screens you can see flight schedule but that’s it. But as you said it has a lot of amenities. I love that lounge. It is so big and food is great. We will be baby there this Thursday.
Thank you for watching Anky. A lot of aircraft has the same layout with other airlines. Please do not forget the like and subscribe I really appreciate it.
@@MisakaSkywalker what do you mean by that? Do they still give out those little black/brown amenity bags from Doha-HK as they did in the Q-suite soft product?
This is a leased CX aircraft and the C class on this frame is way better than the older original QR 777-300ERs that are still flying around. I'd be very happy with this as a second best to Q-Suite. The original QR config? Not so much.
Very interesting! Next month my wife and I will be on that same flight and we have booked those same seats! What did you make of that tiny 2-row cabin? Snug or claustrophobic?
Hi jack thanks for watching. It did not feel claustrophobic to me. I am a small person so it was a wide enough seat for me. Are you going to Maldives as well?

The aircraft you're comparing is not a relevant comparison, as this is a leased Cathay Pacific aircraft, which is not even a Qatar Airways aircraft / interior and is not a permanent part of the fleet. A more accurate comparison would have been QR's product on the 787 and non - QSuite 777 and A350. I would expect a travel channel to at least do some research and be upfront about the product they are reviewing.
Hi thanks for watching. Think about it this way, if you eat at a gourmet restaurant and you pay a premium for a burger for example, you expect a high quality meat, ingredients and cooking than McDonalds. The same thing with flying business or first class since you are paying a premium. Passengers expect a higher level of quality in the food and amenities. I hope that helps. Thanks again for watching. I really value your comment.
dumbest advice ever to not get upgraded to a cathay pacific first class hard product. It is simply spectacular and I highly recommend upgrading just for the seat.
This is not cathy pacific new plane with the new first class seats. If you can see the seats are just bigger than business. But we all have our preferences.
I know it was leased as others already mentioned but still in this plane if you were able to fly with this particular airplane as I did 3x in business it does not make sense to pay additional $1,500 for a seat that is just bigger seat than the business class and only 4 hrs to Maldives. But again it is up to you if you want to do the upgrade it is your preference, for me it does not make sense.
@@jeztravel what I'm trying to say is that your review is not accurate. I'm not judging whether you like to pay extra for first or not. The fact that you have mentioned inaccurate info that this flight is an upgrade for Qatar from qsuite. It is absolutely not. Qatar doesn't have first class on their 777s but only on a380. This flight to Maldives is a leased plane from Cathay Pacific. The seat configuration is the CX except that the soft product is all QR. Please don't mislead viewers that this is an upgraded plane for Qatar. It is not.

Going to fly this non qsuite 777 in June. Happy to find this video.
I am glad to know you find it with value, thank you
How was the weather when you went in June? Going there next June and I’m praying it’d be ok!
@@elvisjd710 I flew from Hong Kong to Houston via Doha, so my experience might not be useful to you.
This aircraft was Cathay Pacific before, only renew the logo and livery. The seat and facilities were same as Cathay Pacific B777-300ER

No wonder they are flying this to Hong Kong.

I never understand that obsession with the food that’s being served on the airplane or in the lounge.
