The Boeing 777, commonly referred to as the Triple Seven, is an American long-range wide-body airliner developed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. It is the world's largest twinjet. The 777 was designed to bridge the gap between Boeing's other wide body airplanes, the twin-engined 767 and quad-engined 747, and to replace older DC-10s and L-1011 trijets. Developed in consultation with eight major airlines, with a first meeting in January 1990, the program was launched in October, with an order from United Airlines. The prototype was rolled out in April 1994, and first flew in June. The 777 entered service with the launch customer, United Airlines, in June 1995. Longer range variants were launched in 2000, and were first delivered in 2004.
The 777 has been ordered and delivered more than any other wide-body airliner; as of July 2022, more than 60 customers had placed orders for 2,122 aircraft of all variants, with 1,690 delivered. The most common and successful variant is the 777-300ER with 838 aircraft ordered and 832 delivered. By March 2018, the 777 had become the most produced Boeing wide-body jet, overtaking the Boeing 747. As of 2018, Emirates was the largest operator, with 163 aircraft. didn't think i'd ever see something dumber than crypto out there.
Agree that its definitely not a big difference with their business class. Recently flew their Q-suite to New York and got the same Dyptique amenity kit, same pijamas, similar food offerings. Only difference would be the seat (although it doesnt look that much better than the QSuite) and the check-in/lounge experience.
The greatest feat of all is affording these airlines.

IMO not worth it unless you have fuck you money. The extra money is better spent on your actual vacation once you’ve landed.

@@squidwardshouse67 absolutely. Unless one of these seats is a bucket list item then it's pointless to bother for the average person. Sure everyone forgets about their flight as soon as they arrive at their destination

Last month I flew Qatar Airways from Montreal-Doha-Islamabad and return in Qsuite. My first time and I loved it. It’ll be hard to fly long haul economy ever again. Comparing your experience with first class to Qatar’s business class Qsuite personally I think I’d prefer business class. It seems the level of service is comparable in both first and business but there is far more privacy with the Qsuite closing door and seemingly higher walls. Also the Qsuite bed seemed longer.
They are amazing and staffs are truly well trained to attend every passenger. Whether its 1st class or Economy they will serve with an amazing attitude.. I love flying with them

A very good friend of mine, actually a work colleague at the time, was on one of the very first Virgin Atlantic flights to New York travelling on business so was in Upper Class. Virgin Atlantic were indeed making a big deal of the free inflight massages at the time and during the flight someone came up behind my friend and gave her a massage. When she turned round she saw that her masseur was ........... Richard Branson! Apparently it was actually quite a good massage.

I love living vicariously through your experiences. I've never flown first class in my life and probably never will.
Saying that you probably never will is a defeated way of seeing things. Just like seeing the glass half empty. But if that's how you wish to view what life has to offer then so be it my friend.
Booked this first class from DOH to HKG with AAdvantage miles. Can’t wait to fly on it
Sadly my wife and I lived through a nearly identical experience as you did on your Lufthansa flight to Dubai when we flew business class between FRA, DOH and on to MHD with Qatar. The service was awful and the food inedible. They changed our flight and separated us for no reason and the new flights meant we never had any time in the lounge in DOH on either the outgoing or return flights. This was our very first experience with Qatar. When I contacted Qatar about this after returning home they did not care in the least which added the final blow to our ever flying with them again. I've flown on a very large percentage of the airlines around the world and have found that service is rarely consistent on most carriers but at least concern for the customer when they have a valid complaint can make up for some things.
I was lucky enough to fly Qatar business class from Dublin to Johannesburg for a very reasonable rate during covid, and it was an incredible experience. Q-Suite is amazing.
I hope to some day get the chance to fly First Class. Great video Dan 👍

The airport at Doha is excellent. Pristine clean and loads of facilities. We usually fly QATAR to Europe from Melbourne.

This makes so much more sense (the lease from Cathay Pacific) because I'm wondering why am I on 19A for Business Class where the Qatar Airways normal configuration flight to Zurich in September, Business Class is only till Row 9 on a B777-300ER (non-leased) and I had a slight panic that they had allocated me on a economy seat 😅

You need to obtain a certified copy of your birth certificate. The post office mails it off along with your application form and the passport office mails it back along with your passport in separate envelopes(I guess for identity theft reasons). The process takes two or more weeks and I think they charge $160. I also have an EU passport from Latvia, That was easy to get. It took three days and cost 25 euros, photos included.
You will not regret it. In my opinion it is the best economy class ever if you are on a budget
It's one of the best airlines in my opinion. Even in their old fleet it was very enjoyable.

What airline and class did you use? We’re you happy with it? I would love to hear the details. And if I understood you, Zurich was your destination? Seems like a long round about way to go, but perhaps you were testing the airlines?

i am mostly traveling from montreal to doha and back... roughly 4-5 times a year, all in business because there's no first class on this route (alexa play sad music)... i'll catch you some day 😂

Air Qatar seems so nice, must try at some point. Btw after your last Finnair video they took your advice and have now added a boarding music (timing sees so convinient that I like to believe that some one at the Finnair office watched your video and since it was basically only mark you made how to better the experience they decided that act on it.)

Hi, Finnair has been playing their signature boarding music for years, at least in long haul. You can find the track on UA-cam. 😀 My guess is that during your review their system was simply not in operation.

The very seat I had, 2K, flying from Hong Kong to Doha. It was a Cathay Pacific plane (logo on TV). Wonderful experience.

We flew Qatar business from Milan - > Doha - > Bangkok last week & they were offering full service on both flights!

Hi Dan, did you had a look on the premium economy class of this flight? I think it's an uplift around 150$ for a seat reservation in this category. Is it worth it? Do they get the same service as in economy?
no they don't. I just had a trip by qatar airways a month ago and the seat is very narrow. the food is the average economy class i am afraid

Wondered where the Cathay B777s went! Zurich, Istanbul and Maldives eh? Funnily, did Doha to Muscat in 2021, a 45 minute flight in QR B777ER Q-Suite, which was ticketed as First, having a full service platter was kinda wild... Sorta wished the UAE diplomatic spat was still on, as would've flow an extra 30 minutes to avoid UAE airspace like in 2019...
