How to change A motorcycle starter! (1990-2007 Ninja 500R)

This is a very small and short tutorial on how to change a starter on a 1994 ninja Kawasaki 500R. This process is very similar on many motorcycles and can be used as a guidance for your own process.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO REMOVE THE CRABIES!! OR THE CHAIN TENSIONER AND YOU ONLY NEED TO REMOVE THE STATER COVER TO LINE UP THE SPLINES INSIDE THE SPROCKET WHEN YOU PUT THE STARTER BACK IN

how did you remove the starter at 2:38? Mine is pretty solid in there and I don’t want to damage it.

Hi, if your stater is stuck use a punch and a hammer to hit it out, make sure the 2 bolts that hold it in place were removed.

Did oil leak when you removed the stator cover

Yes, I drained most of it before it pulled the cover off.

does the cover need a gasket ?
