Luke, I received my orange roussollini seed on the 12th of April, planted on the 13th and today, 4-30-17 getting ready to move to some red solo cups. Now we need to talk about business, your site said 10 seeds for .99c, I received 21 seeds and 16 grew, I think I owe you .57c, that's good business. If you give your customers that fast service and extra product, you can not go wrong.

My grandfather used to save seeds from a tomato he grew and after he passed my dad planted his seeds and continues to plant and save. Pap said it was a Polish tomato. I will certainly keep this tradition going. It is a large ox heart type of tomato with few seeds and it makes great sauce. The closest I have ever found to it is an heirloom called Anna Russian. If you ever want to give it a try, I'd be glad to share as it has been a great performer for us. Love your videos and enthusiasm. You are everything that is great about your generation.

I know this is a late comment but...I think it's great that you are continuing to grow and collect those seeds! Sadly when my Grammy passed her seeds were lost. I'm just now looking for Heirloom tomato seeds for my garden. My two sons are helping me. My oldest wants to go to school to be a chef. And he is so eager to get started. He's been cooking with me since he was a little guy. Now he towers over me.😁 Best of luck to you!

These sound wonderful! Thank goodness your family had the wisdom to plant the seeds and keep them available.
We grow tomatoes every year. I potted over 100 this year. All heirloom. One set was from seed I had saved on a paper plate in September/2011. On it was written, Organic Tomato. Wish I had mentioned a variety. :) Much to my amazement the germination rate was 98%. Can't wait to see what kind it is. The plants are very hardy and doing well. My other half remarked that they could be grape or cherry variety. I would hardly have saved those.
I have many varieties, Heirloom Blend, Roma, Amish Paste, Beefsteak, Rutgers, San Marzano.
I would do an exchange for some of your polish tomato seed if available.
Easy to remember me since I am Ambrose too. Happy gardening and may your dear grandfather rest in peace.

My mom has been telling me of a tomato that my paternal grand father used to grow. Her description matches yours to a tee. I have been growing tomatoes that match her description for years now with no success of finding the type we have been looking for.I will definitely give the Anna Russian a try if I can find the seeds. Any help with my search for the seeds would be greatly appreciated!

I discovered your channel a couple of days ago. Awesome!!! I am Italian and my Great Grandparents and Grandparents always grew beautiful gardens. Their tomato plants were bigger than I was, at 5 years old. My Great Grandparents came from Italy and brought seeds with them. Sad to say those varieties are lost. Of all the grandchildren, I am the only one who has found the joy in gardening. This year I am passing that joy on to My 4 year old grandson. He is so excited! His potatoes are bigger than mine! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge for FREE! I've learned a lot. Can't wait until those Orange Roussellini Tomato Seeds are available. Thank you for your generosity. Keep on Growing!

However , mine have no tast , and have a bad tast when cooked - like burnt tires. Even the one I grew in a pot of good potting soil were bad. Their very high yield though. I usually grow Rutgers or early girl.

Hey, MIgardener, you should consider hybridizing the 87 year old tomato plant with this (Orange Russolini) to make it more hardy. I bet it would be cool. I highly recommend hybridizing your favorite tomato plant with this at least. It takes 9 generations to stabilize it, but I think it's worth the time - and you definitely have the passion for it.

@@user-mr8st9bk6e I wasn't impressed. It turn out to be a multiflora. Which means a genetic trait where the plant produces a large amount of flowers. The plant is short and bushy, grows to about 3-4ft. They produce a lot of large grape shaped tomatoes, about 1 to 1.5inch long. The tomatoes have no flavor whatever so ever, tastes like paper really. I didn't bother harvesting them and left it for the garden critters.
It is fun to grow if you never grow a multiflora tomato before, but anything will taste better than this variety.
I understand their seeds got crossed, but I tried growing twice three years apart, and the result has not improved.

I got these in my orders for 2019/2010 (I think they were in my grab bags) now I’m excited to try them and now that I found the older vid with their back story, wouldn’t it be cool if you got the chance to go to Italy and meet them in person?

    Hey there,
    Need some advice please.
I have some tomatoes growing for the past two months or so. and they are doing great generally. They have a lot of blossoms for a while now but only 2 fruit have set. I have been tapping them to aid in pollination and I have seen some bees around as well but the fruit isn't setting. They have been watered pretty well, but not too much because my country is currently in a drought. The rains have been coming in a bit now so we haven't been wetting them as much, but the soil isn't bone dry or anything. The temperature here is around 29-33 deg C daily right now and the humidity is around 70%. Do you know why the fruits aren't setting?
    ♡Thanks in advance!♡

I bought my wife 4 roma tomato plants last week. I came home to find, she put all 4 in one 12" pot! She did the same with 4 banana pepper plants, as well as bell peppers. We argued about it. Please tell her it's wrong! LOL

You should research how to prune tomato plants. You get a higher yield and they also ripen faster which would be good for your area. I say that because you have a good amount of partial shade. It's great that you leave plants to blossom for the bees. Also that tomato looks a lot like the Ukrainian Yubileyny Tarasenko Tomato.

Luke, you may have to find somebody who can propagate some more plants of this variety indoors between now and next season to meet demand. I'll give it my best effort.
I'm intrigued by your description. I like sungold when then are absolutely ripe, almost too ripe. "Mango" is how I'd describe the flavor.

***** Not sure if you have the green light to resell these rare seeds or not but if so something to benefit charity would be a good use of these beauties. You could probably get $3-5 per seed. Some of the Heirloom preservation historians would probably like to get it on record.

It's my understanding that Italian words typically aren't supposed to have touching vowels, so "Rous" should be "Rus" in the name.
