Wow now that was an upgrade. I too almost made that move but the sticker shock beat me back LOL. Looking back I wish I would have i love using the 3030.
As a newbie to the ctx I find your videos very helpful and easy to watch hand understand. Could you do one related to the tone settings as not to sure on ferrous and conductive ?
Is it just as me a long time ML owner or is it that the CTX is just the most complete coin/relic machine built to date by anyone? And I live in South Australia where ML originated in a backyard shed in Adelaide. I'm not biased, well maybe just a little!
hello mental metal ! First of all, thank you for your informative videos on the CTX 3030, thanks to you now I am starting to know how to use it ! I bought one 3 years ago, and it stayed in the cupboard, I couldn't use it... In France few people use the ctx 3030 so few answers to my questions.☹ Can you help me with the relic program? How to make it efficient, what settings to modify? Thanks for your help 👍
I don't sorry. I don't have black sand where I am and I've only used a couple days on the beach so I wouldn't be comfortable advising until I got some more time. I'm sure I will put out something eventually.
I live in Alaska! I think the 7000 was modeled after this for gold. Except its a lot of $$$$$. I would like to concentrate mostly on GOLD nugs, silver, and native findings! What I like most is the LCD on this! I want it, but I'm uncertain of its ability to find high-end minerals? Not looking for tin cans or bullets. What say you? I haven't researched many other brands? I REALLY like this one, except for that one uncertainty. Must get wet is a have too. People's videos only show coin mode every time? Is silver mode for GOLD too?🤠
I would continue doing what you are doing. When you get a hit for 12:45 it's pretty spot on but check the war nickles they may hit lower but I could be wrong.
Just bought a ctx3030, and love the machine. Great for everything I like to do, except gold. Are there settings you would recommend to use that might increase my chances?
Congrats Chris, I do not have any recommendations for gold. Gold will sound off on that machine so you just need to walk over it. Much success to you on it. Its a log of fun to use and learn. I'll be putting more videos out after I get don't messing around with this Deus II that has all my attention right now.
@Diggers Down Under The Comic Chef I like your reply to the question! Pretty spot on. I live at the top of the world, in Alaska! My soul hunting will be for GOLD, along with silver and native relics along the creeks trails, and wherever my Fat HS e-bike will go. So with that said. I've had my eye on the 800 until now. I do like the LCD on the 3030. What say you in comparison to finding high-end minerals? Just want the right one out the gate. Not looking for cans or nails. I'd just like to have good options on the screen. Will the silver setting work for GOLD as well? You'd think by now they would have put a GOLD setting on there instead of a silver option? So, without going ALL in on a 7000. What do you say is a good choice? Haven't really looked at other brands. Thanks!🤠
Hello ~ thank you for your awesome videos. Question: in canada we have a metal one dollar coin, but the detector is not picking it up as a viable coin. why is that? and can I change this setting some how? thank you for your valuable time.
Thanks Kevin so my only thought here is to try using Pattern 2 (all opened up) to see where that coin is hitting. If you aren't seeing it at all then I'm not sure what I can tell you. I think I would test it with every program (coin, relic, etc.) with Pattern 2 and if it comes in and you get good numbers, then you can adjust the coin pattern to make sure it allows for that coin.
@@MentalMetal thank you brother.... super helpful... Keep up the great work. I'm not familiar with youtube, but is it possible to label your videos from 1 - "intro beginner" to 10 "more advanced". That way, I'll (and others') will be able to know exactly where I'm at in the videos..... but I also don't want you to add on more work here for you...
How about I just make a playlist and put all of them in there? Most of these videos are for beginners or someone very new to the CTX. I try to label them by what I am trying to show. Here is the link to the playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLXfWgLbFWF4Y4YesfZfPsk0xFcA3ihQjN.html
hello i currently have the deus 1, had it for about 3 years , iam wanting to get another detector, and iam kinda stuck between the ctx-3030 or the deus 2, whats your opinion ? thanks
The CTX has its place and strengths for sure but the price is the main show stopper for it. For a little over $900 you can get the Equinox vs. over 2k for the CTX. The Equinox has a lot of the features that are in or were taken from the CTX. The CTX is also several years old so the processing speeds for recovery aren't as fast as the Equinox. With all that said, I really do like using it over the Equinox for coins. The target id is awesome and I really like how the patterns are displayed or presented with target trace enabled. But the one thing that I really like is how it syncs up to GPS and the way you can mark where you find targets and save it off for the next time you hunt. So all in all, I like the NOX for some things while I like the CTX for the others. They both have their purpose and it isn't one over the other for me. Just my honest 2 cents. I would keep them both if I could.
@@MentalMetal I currently own and love the 800 but I'm always finding myself wanting the best technology. I love the display of the CTX but the weight I bet is a issue after awhile lol you mentioned slower than the 800 and this technology is 10 yo. Is the slower the recovery speed? I found a good used 3030 for a great price and I'm on t the fence with it and I'm hoping for a new ctx model this year per rumors.
Thanks for the great video..very well done, easy to understand. I've noticed almost all the videos put up online are about detecting coins and relics...but I'm planning on getting one for gold, don't really care for coins and stuff, so have you come across any detectors that are awesome in the gold fields? Thx
Glad it was helpful! Check out Minelab and their GPX and GPZ detectors. They are pricey but are made more for the gold and mineralized soil conditions.
@@MentalMetal yeah I know he's really trying to sell it lol but it's to pricey for me I'm going to stick with my equinox 800 I've had good luck with it I think the key is learn any metal detector well the more you use one the more good stuff you can find with it it takes time
@@MentalMetal calibash did the same with equinox now its trash to him . He gets free detectors so he has to talk well about those detectors , i dont trust that guy
Thanks maybe I'll put something together on that. It will hit silver pretty deep though and it has one of the best target IDs even compared to some of these newer machines.
Been thinking about buying a CTX 3030 and alot of people have said not to bother as the Nox 800 is just as good. In your opinion is the CTX worth saving for
John, for the money the Nox will do just as well and better is some areas. I still think he CTX is one of the best coin and beach hunting machines out there. The things you can do with the built in GPS is pretty cool. I have gotten the most joy out of learning how to use the CTX than any other machine. You can't beat the target id.but it is a little slow on the recovery speed and separation isn't as good as the Nox. Its a tough call to be honest and i'm probably not helping much LOL. Hopefully you'll give my friends at Fort Bedford a shot at earning your business.
Your video did well to unravel the mysteries of the 3030-many not clear in the manual or elsewhere! Very watchable.
Glad to hear thanks David.
wow, wish I had this video two years ago. I am now feeling so much better about this machine.
Once you master the navigation of the menus it all falls in place.
I been away from my CTX for a few years.....great review 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks! 👍
A 10 for Fort Bedford , great service!!
100% agree
The CTX is a beast. I had an AT Pro then upgraded to the CTX and found coins in my yard that I had missed. Great vids!
Wow now that was an upgrade. I too almost made that move but the sticker shock beat me back LOL. Looking back I wish I would have i love using the 3030.
once you master the settings you won’t want anything else, only time I’m selling mine is when they bring out a CTX2.

Time if there was only more of it in a day. Have installed Xchange 2 yet?

How does target location on the screen relate to position on the coil?
I don't think there is any correlation. The screen is a number chart and has nothing to do with position of the coil.
