Hi, great filming from the air.Its always good to see the surrounding area where rail runs through. Good to see the mighty DC class rolling the rails & backup when the DLs fail😅.
Can someone please explain to me how KR numbers its engines? I’m used to British or European models where you have a ‘class’ number followed by the engine number. So for example I’m confused by the two DLs, one 92 and one 96. I know there’s not that many DLs! Thanks in advance 😊
ITs a TMS numbering system introduced in 1979/80. The first digit is the class indicator, the middle two digits are the unit number and the 4th digit is a checksum. for the first digit - 9 for DLs, 4 for DCs and DSJs, 7 for DFTs, 8 for DMs and DXRs, 5 for DXs, 1 for DBRs (no longer in mainline use), 6 for DFs (1979 Df class, not the 1954 Df class. all 1979 Df class were upgraded to DFTs anyhow), 6 was also used for DQ and QR class locos (also no longer in use), 3 for DJs (also no longer in mainine use) and DSJS, 2 for DHs and DSCs .
