Here's a tip Torterra bros: Don't underestimate Rock Polish! Torterra becomes a mean sweeper with RP; just be sure to safely set it up. You'll need STAB coverage, along with a Rock move and you're set. Too bad he didn't get Shell Smash.
Do you need Rock Polish for story mode tho?
Just use STAB moves and win.

I prefer more of a stalling based Torterra. Leech Seed, Snythesis, Giga Drain, Earthquade

1. You are not forced to use the same pokemon as everyone else.
2. Try to nuzlocke the game. That way you can try other pokemon and it is a very cool challenge.

@Ashley Steggles I only used garchomp cuz it's my favorite dragon type and I used starapter bc I wanted a really powerful flying type and I love using early game flying types

Solid team bro. I'm trying to go fully dual types foe my first playthrough. Just wish they had made Luxray dark electric. It would have been epic and really only made the region better imo. Keep up the great vids, and see you in Sinnoh.

I used a traded zubat in ORAS and that crobat was the best mon I had that's playthrough. I use one in almost every playthrough now! Such a cool mon.

I learned this from another video of how to evolve milotic quickly. feed it 8 dry sweet poffins that will increase its beauty, level it up once and BOOM! you've got a milotic immediately

Haven't played a pokemon game since Gold on the Gameboy Colour, decided to finally take the plunge with this one since I just got a Switch Oled and these videos are a great help to get an idea of what kinds of pokemon will available and what to look out for. Also, your "Don't use these pokemon" video doesn't really apply to me because I obviously haven't used any of them yet eheh ;)
Good luck getting Milotic. It is a favorite of mine too but it is super hard to obtain
It’s funny, much of my Torterra team was picked on your Empoleon team; gotta use the Diamond stars of Rampardos and Honchkrow, but I’m hoping to use Bibarel, Pachirisu, and Girafarig to round out the team. None were available in Sword/Shield so it’ll be nice to use old favorites again

Torterra is such a good boi=) A bit slow for my tastes, but still - a solid type combo=) More grass-ground types, please.
Going with your all star team is always the best feeling, IMO.
While Electivire is my favorite Pokemon, my all star team is Infernape, Staraptor, Roserade, Garchomp, Magnezone and Weavile and is what I will go with for my first playthrough.
Torterra, Honchkrow, Lucario, Gyarados, Gengar and Porygon-Z for my second playthrough.
Empoleon, Togekiss, Magmortar, Electivire, Lopunny and Mamoswine for my 3rd playthrough is the plan.

I’m trynna get my hands on Manaphy and Jirachi! I’m so excited for this game and I played Infernape and Empoleon in my og platinum and pearl games🤩 i’ma go for Torterra, Snorelax, Heracross,Togekiss,Manaphy, and Jirachi
Turtwig was my starter of choice in platinum. Kinda sad platinum wasn’t chosen instead since it’s viewed as the best of the gen 4 games but hey a man can dream. Plus either way still excited about the gen four remakes.

Your team looks good. I'll be choosing Turtwig for my playthrough of Shining Pearl. The move sets will depend on whether certain moves are available as TMs, level-up moves, or Move Tutors. Also, I'll be giving Torterra an Ability Patch so that I can run them with their hidden ability, even if it means that won't happen until the post-game. For my 6th team member, I'll try to catch it in the wild or in a Hideaway, as I'm not sure if I want to use it with its regular ability or its hidden ability. My team will consist of:
1) Stan the male Torterra(Grass/Ground)
-ability=Shell Armor
-nature=Adamant, Impish, Careful, Brave, Relaxed, or Sassy
-Seed Bomb, Earthquake/High Horsepower, Rock Slide, and Iron Head/Crunch/Body Press/Leech Seed/Grassy Glide
2) Loftwing the male Staraptor(Normal/Flying)
-ability=Intimidate
-nature=Adamant, Jolly, Impish, or Careful
-Brave Bird/Aerial Ace, Close Combat, Steel Wing, and Quick Attack
3) Voltergeist the Rotom(Electric/Ghost)
