It’s definitely not that easy, even with marks it’s still challenging and it’s whole schemes they had to out together to overcome the upper moons
Unfortunately even with more training and a mark Rengoku would’ve still died to Akaza, I don’t think one single Hashira could’ve beat him, he’s that strong and Rengoku is my favorite character by far

So after the death of kyojuro rengoku his father was really upset that his own negligence led his son to death.
Then he realise that he need to train again with the motive of avenging the death of his son
He would have started training even more harder,didn't think about the superiority of the breathing
In the hashira training arc he would want to train with tanjiro to learn about hinokami kagura
In the infinity castle arc he would ran into the akaza along with giyu and tanjiro, during the initial period they have hard time killing the akaza
Then akaza would badmouth the rengoku before his father then all slayer fight to death

Jigoro the former Thunder Hashira retired cause he lost his leg. So he wouldn't be able to fight effectively. However he can easily train the the Demon Slayers to be more fast and agile given his specialization on that aspect.

i really feel like shinjuro (rengoku's dad) could still absolutely demolish cus he didnt really suffer any absolutely fatal injuries e.g tengen plus he doesnt seem to be THAT old and a massive plus to the fact that he was one of the strongest in his lineup, i think if he sobers up and fills in his son's spot he could maybe even with the intent of avenging him. but then again, the story could twist and turn if so plus im not the most knowledgeable due to the fact that i havent read the manga, im just basing off what i know so far.
