Steve your the best man. Teacher, Trainer and humble as all get out. i just cant follow these other fitness people that do nothing but gossip and talk the whole time without any substance.
Great video Steve , You talked about lat insertion and that your lat insertion is high , that's my problem if we can say , and the funny thing is that when people see me they say do you even work your back.
The rubberband is a dumb idea, when i started fitness i barely could do chinups, what i did was a) get a portable door way chinup bar b) used a chair to help assist my legs. Then i built up to higher reps
I feel like I should point out that any scapular movement has nothing to do with the lats. The lats have no distal or proximal insertions anywhere on the scapula. The lats originate at the sacrum, ilium, the spinous processes of T7-L5 vertebra, and the last four ribs. They insert at the bicipital groove on the humerus. Therefore, when in the gym and working on your lats, the main anatomical movements you need to be executing are adduction (bringing appendage closer to the body) and hyper-extension (moving appendage behind the body) of the humerus (upper arm bone).
Nicola D'Amico That's likely because when performing, say a row of some kind, when you pull your humerus back far enough to where your shoulders begin to also move backwards, your traps and rhomboids will likely kick in, in order to retract your scapulae to allow for further shoulder and humerus extension. So when you do retract your scapulae in a rowing movement, for example, it likely is allowing for further extension of the humerus which in turn allows for a greater contraction of the lats.
Spotting someone at pulls ups by the legs can get dangerous. If they let go of the bar and you are pushing up to much it cause their body to go the wrong way possibly hitting their head on the floor. Safe way is to put your hand on their lower back and lift up through there.
Hi steve. A tip for pull up: my physical therapist told me if you have your thumb above the bar you engage more rear delt and if you have it under the bar you engage more the lats. That could be a reason your lats aren't as wide as they could've been. Love you steve!
Scoob RHINO HORN Doo I feel like Steve is gonna be focusing a lot more on his gym in the coming months. Comp prep is time consuming, draining, and If he competes again it probably won’t be for a while
Dude we need more instructional videos like this!! Keep them coming, this is why I sub to fitness channels, or fitness related channels.
Drew R this type of videos are for steroids user not for natural person

Jeremy Winkler scapular movements are all mid and lower traps correct?
Chase Grengs mid/lower/upper traps, rhomboids, and levator scapulae.
thank you good sir, i still feel greater pump and stimulus when retracting the scapula, even if its not directly attached

Jeremy Winkler....way to disprove your own point.

Steve, you da man....💕💕💕
We had a F'N awesome back workout at Golds my bro! Mannn I miss that sun already!
traps - Heavy rackpulls or deadlifts.
Steve you’re amazing I love the videos man I’m a huge fan of yours but c’mon bro how are the strings on your hoodie not bothering you? 😭
You can also do Australian Pull-ups. Those help a great deal.
Athleanx was the channel I use to go to now I flitter in between Steve cook and and athleanx 👍🇬🇧👍
This guy is good.
Thanks for sharing help me a lot 👏🏿🤘🏾💙
Hi Steve, what would be the difference between doing pull-ups with the band or just simply using the cable pulldown machine?
Definitely love trying to do pull ups at the end of my workout it challenges me more.
Thanks Miz
In the Lat pullover, how do you get your triceps out? Everytime I do that my tris get exhausted before my back
Evan Largent try bending your elbows a bit towards the last few sets. Works for me
I love these intros 👍
What’s that cut off hoodie? I love it!
Steve still taking me to school.
Would you recommend doing pull and chin ups every day?
Where u get the hoodie?
What? Isn't it the opposite? Pulldowns work lower traps for thickness. Rows work lats which add width.
Peidi Wu no
Keep on GRINDING everyone😃💯
Chris Ali you too bro ❤️🤙🏼👌🏻💪🏻
Lewis Vilbro thanks man!!!🙌🏼😃
Steve thicc
Why no deadlifts??
Many people include it on legs or lower body days
I could easily imagine having the band for assisted pull ups slip off my foot and come up and smack me in the face
Asian Clark Kent sounds good
Besides width and length is that true strength.
It’s cool how always has alternate options 💯
10:30 i want to try that machine so bad for so long...
has anyone come up with a proper order of doing the whole workout?
where is that sleeveless hoodie from???
Hey Steve one question man.....were do you get your sleeveless shirts from? Especially the one you are wearing in this video?
Are you telling me you don't have curved lat pulldown bar that would allow you to bring it pass your legs as using a rope? Just wondering???
My New Idol.
Steve, why are you avoiding barbell rows and deadlifts? I have back issues ; do you recommend this type of workout over a conventional lifts?
Not a criticism, just a question: how come you always drop off of your last pull-up instead of doing the eccentric part of the last rep?
Hi steve. A tip for pull up: my physical therapist told me if you have your thumb above the bar you engage more rear delt and if you have it under the bar you engage more the lats. That could be a reason your lats aren't as wide as they could've been. Love you steve!
No waaaaay!!! Your back is MEAN Steve. It totally doesnt look like you have a massive back but it looks heaps good
