I purchased and just finished watching the full length DVD. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in commercial aviation. Congratulations to JustPlanes for a great job and I will certainly be watching more of their DVDs. And if I could, I'd send CPT Luciano and all the crew my best regards - they were super kind, super gracious and have shown themselves to be superb professionals. I have never flown Swiss but this video certainly makes me a likely customer.
For some weird reason KLM wants absolutely nothing to do with filming in their cockpits... which is really too bad... that would be one of the European airlines we would really want to cover!
That's just impressive! The captain speaks really good english, the video is of good quality and it seems it's quite a treat for any aviation enthusiast. It's my sincere hope Justplanes gets more airlines involved in this project to showcase the different flavors from across the globe.
I appreciate the multiple cameras and the close ups of the instruments you give us. It's always nice to see when V1 comes up, or when and what they dial into the autopilot, to look at what the pilots are seeing; it's fascinating. Thanks for posting this impressive video. Captain and his crew seemed to be so friendly that I think I´ll take my next long distance flight with Swiss.
One thing I love about Swiss Air is that they do not just abandon routes that easily like most international airlines just base on profit margins only (yes I know, hard to believe), they cater for their passenger needs first. Their flight crew are super nice and professional. Emirates sure learned a lot from them. I fly Swiss or Air France wherever I go, can't ask for more.
This was my 4th DVD brought from you guys. AMAZING! the best one so far. I have always dreamed of becoming a pilot and I will continue my flying lessons to gain my PPL before continuing on to British Airways :)

The Captain made this DVD! Such a nice lad. That's what you want in these DVD's rather than Pilots that aren't comfortable with filming etc. The GOLDEN6 STAR is my favourite arrival!

The Blu-ray, which is 4h30mins, contains maybe 5-8mins of tourist stuff... so more than 4h20mins of all cockpit stuff... so if you buy the video you will get it all.. here on You Tube its just a very small sample...
Wow, I did not know the Airbus A340 flight control systems contained a left hand control stick instead of front steering grips. The left hand control stick is exactly what we have on the modern F-16 fighter jets in the U.S. Airforce. The A340 is a fascinating aircraft.
All airbus fleet consist of side stick for flight control. And Control Column for Boeing Fleet. Like they said, Airbus pilots have nothing between their legs ;)
I have flown on a 340 and despite the silly Boeing fanboys' claims, it's a very smooth and QUIET plane. I was sitting near the wing area and could hardly hear the engines! Good thing too as it was an overnight flight from Barcelona to Chicago! One interesting (or weird) thing: when you go to the lavs in the back, you take a winding staircase down to where the cargo level is because the lavs are next to the cargo! I guess the rear is too narrow to fit them.
Good question, never asked but considering how many of those are flying around it seems that thats not a big issue... just a little bit of time to get used to it....
