I grew up going to see Hootie and the Blowfish at Rockafellas, back when they first started out, and his voice hasn't changed a bit, he was always gifted with that deep sexy, all the girls were crushing on him too, lol. Then they went on David Letterman, and hit the big time. They were just regular college dudes in t-shirts and shorts, drinking beer, listening to Bob Dylan, having a good time in our southern college town, no gimmicks, and people seemed to connect with that, with their hometown feel. Bars were and still are open all night long, and it was so hot most of the time we didn't even go out until midnight. I loved being young and being a college student here, and I still love my city. The guys do so much charity--for children mostly, from children's cancer charities to music programs in schools. They gave back to our town in so many ways. When a mutual friend passed away, and his family had a hard time paying for the funeral and burial, we were at the wake, and a check arrived. They had picked up the entire bill, because he encouraged and helped them when they started out, and they didn't forget him. They quietly do things like that, not for accolades, but because they are simply good people.
darius rucker is just blessed rock/pop in hootie & r&b back to then, country, learn to live who doesn't love him like u said kickback & relax & listen to a real person like darius rucker & how much you relate to him GOD bless him. robert s.
Al of his songs i've heard so far are excellant. But my boy DONE HIS THANG on this 1. The song, the video Everything he definetly showed his smooooth side and correlated it well in the music and the video. AWESOME
Dont hate on the man because he can do it all. Love his music period! Well go on hating because that means he is that good. People that hate don't have no life and are pretty close minded. Plus they are jealous because they cannot sing!
love his voice... he's a wild one ...one love.... no negativity, my mama always said if you can't say something nice, don't say nothin at all... peace!
people calm down this isnt from his country album this is from back to then a album that came out in 2002 ive heard darius rucker's country album and it's amazing he's a very welcome addition to country music he's a great voice that can make just about any song sound like gold
I was really impressed by this track when I heard it just a few days ago on a video channel, very nice vibe and great bass line, and of course vocals. I didn't even know about this output as far as an R and B album, just the country one which was pretty good for what it was. Much continued success to this guy, he really comes off genuine and humble.
I like this song a lot. I was never really in to Hootie and the Blowfish, but this song got me tuned in to Darius Rucker. This song never really got the Praise it deserves! And I prefer 90's and 2000's R&B to 90's rock. thats just me! But I do like Classic Rock any way, this is a great song good job Darius!
He is my current musical fascination. He’s so versatile! Even though he considers himself a country singer, there are so many styles of music he can sing so well. I love artists who can sing lots of different kinds of music!
wow! different style for Darius. I love his solo stuff and of course hootie. This song is more hip hop/r&b in a sense. I didn't expect this from him, but its cool. DO YOUR THING DARIUS! Get it!
This guy can do any kid of music!!!!! Country, R and B, Rock, Classic Rock, and hes even been known to do a little Rap in the day... Not to mention the Girls in this Video are BANGIN!!!!!
great singer, down to earth, just a good guy, ask anyone from sc that knows him. he is turning another page in his life... im just glad we are along for the ride..

Exactly..just waiting on his hip hop record.lol... He is a really talented. I love the fact that he breaks all the stereotypes of what a "black singer" should be..Keep doing your thing brother, ..I even bought his country record..and I hate country music..lol..This song gets play right next to my UGK, E 40 DJ SCREW, Al green, Marving Gay, P funk..all my shit.
A great artist is like a chamleon- able to blend into any environment. This brother Darrius Rucker is a prime example. Darrius, do you, bruh! Do your thing!

"Go back to country"??? This song is from 1992! Only 16 years BEFORE he got into country! This song is great! Love Darius doing R&B and country, its all good!
This is still one of the greatest yet most underrated albums and even 20 years later, it's still timeless.

I love this album I’m a professional singer I used to drive around singing these tunes over and over
First time I heard it I was hooked. I love the horns as well.
For those who claim Darius doesn't belong in country music... the charts speak for themselves... #1 single and #1 album!!!
he's one of the best country singers if not the best.... color doesn't make a difference.....
I wish he did more R&B because he has such a unique soulful voice and this video proves it. M
He said he don’t wanna be black for that long
