    I reckon if they had a PCC in New Zealand the food would be more traditional and accurate. Seriouly, kaleve sosisi and alaisa for Samoa? When thinking of Samoan cuisine I would never in a million years think of bloody sausages and gravy wtf?!

    I'm not just giving this vid a thumbs up because I'm Polynesian and Mormon, but also because of he face. Heck, he's funny - the way he chews and looks at the camera, then his eyebrows are raised and goes, "ummm". Freakin funny, bro.

    Sausage and gravy... for Samoa? Are you serious? I know it's honouring British influence but I thought this was about Samoa?
    Where's the lu'au, fai'ai fe'e, oka and faalifu kalo at? And then a meat pie for NZ to rep Maori? Nope.

    • @heminuiraho8235
      @heminuiraho8235 4 роки тому

      Yes our Maori warriors used to slow bake their mince pies into a dry husk just before they would head out to battle. Jokes aside, at $7 that's a seriously over priced pie, that would get you 3 pies and a can of drink in some parts of Auckland. What makes me sad is how the pie is supposed to represent Māori cuisine and if that wasn't a big enough joke it is sold by an Asian vendor. Misrepresentation at its finest

      +Eric Thach It depends on who makes the the pie or how the pie was made. I've tasted good ones and bad ones as well. There even better when they're hot. They're like apples. There are good tasting apples and there are crappy tasting ones.

    Sausage and gravy as the food of Samoa? That's so strange. Im samoan and sapasui (chop suey) with taro (in coconut cream) is much more common lol and that pani popo is hard and dry af 🤢and I'm so angry at that pineapple pie too lol I shouldn't watch clips which showcase my nations food 😅

    Isn't it amazing that the food represented here is found in some way around the world? Purple yams and the quiche are two examples of food. Quiche is a meat, egg, cheese and vegetable filling in a crust. I don't use the crust. The little meat pie and the pineapple goody were like empanadas. Little morsels of richness. The only thing I didn't see was poi. I am one of the weird ones, I like it. Great video Mark and Ying.

      I love that Mark can try everything and give his best feedback. How he stays in shape after it all, I'm amazed. I wish I could do the same. If he didn't like it, great, good on him for his honesty. Not everyone likes all and Mark does not have to like everything he eats. It's a shame the market didn't sell what we islanders prefer to have seen. It's not Marks fault. The NZ pies. Not Marks fault. His feedback is all we need. @Mark Weins, well done. I love your travel and tasting of food. I stand by your comments. If people want to complain then don't watch these videos. Go there and try it yourselves. Marks videos are of good quality. Clear information. Subtitles. Recommended by others for him to try. God bless you Mark Weins.

    For me, the interesting thing is, how easy it is about the food to come into contact with other people and cultures.
    Eating brings cultures, countries and people around the table.
    Food says a lot about other countries and people.
    Whether one speaks the Different languages, it tastes good, everyone understands.

    Hi Ying & Mark,
    I was very surprised to see you eating a meat pie on your channel. It did look a little dry though; not enough gravy.
    Here in Australia, it's one of my favorite snack foods.
    What did Ying think of the meat pie?
    Jim.
