I’m so glad to see someone talking about boric acid suppositories finally! I was very prone to my ph levels being off from so many things. Laundry detergent, body wash, tampons, etc. boric acid was the only thing that really worked for getting rid of and maintaining yeast infections and BV. I never hear anyone mention them and they really are lifesavers and definitely need more attention than they get.

Thank you for talking about women’s health! Vagina, breasts, periods, yeast infections, uterus, ovaries, ovulation, perimenopause, menopause, endometriosis, adenomyosis… ALL of this should not be taboo to talk about and we shouldn’t live in a world where we’re excited women are talking about it. It should just be regular conversation. One day we’ll be there!!

Just a little fyi about collagen. I was taking it religiously and noticed a small bump on my index finger joint. I casually asked my doctor about the bump and she asked me if I was taking collagen. Apparently, it can seep out if your joints if your levels get too high. Something to keep in mind.

When I was a hair dresser, I used Paul Mitchell Supper Skinny Serum on my clients who had thick hair that took forever to dry. They all liked it so well and, they saved so much time drying hair they started using it at home. Other hairdressers started "borrowing" my PMSSS that I no longer had any. To be able to afford to supply the whole salon with PMSSS, I went to Sally's and bought their generic PMSSS and put it in the PMSSS bottle. It worked as well as the original.

Had to come back here and say I bought the Garnier Fructis Grow Strong Shampoo and conditioner because I was needing a shampoo anyway and remembered this video…. I am blown away. It smells heavenly and I didn’t know a shampoo and conditioner could transform how your hair feels to this extent. My hair feels so soft and silky and it cleaned my scalp so well without it feeling overly dry. I am not having to reach for my dry shampoo between washes as much as I did in the past. Also, this shampoo doesn’t advertise that it has salicylic acid in it on the front, but you can read it in the ingredients on the back, and it knocked out the dandruff scale I had going on with my scalp in one single wash!!! This is such an affordable product that’s easy to find, and I’m really glad I gave it a try. Thank you Taylor! I don’t think I would have thought to give it a try if it wasn’t for you, but you got me hooked now.😂

Thanks Taylor for your tips. I will definitely check into some of them. Just a tip for you and other women- Yeast infections are the worst. Oral sex and saliva are culprits. I always wash after sex and blow dry myself down there till it’s BONE DRY. No more yeast infections. Saliva and excess moisture ares yeasts best friends. Also, always take a pee after sex to prevent UTI. So…wash with soap, pee, blow dry. Cranberry supplements daily are also UTI prevention. Hope this helps! 😊

That gold bond lotion literally saved my life. I’m not even joking. In 2018 I had a weird patch of dermatitis on my face (that I now think is thanks to Morphe and their dishonesty with their ingredient lists) But that lotion was genuinely the only thing that helped it heal, even after visiting 4 different dermatologists/specialists. I can’t recommend enough! I use it as my daily evening moisturizer and it doesn’t clog my pores or anything. I will cry if they ever discontinue it.

I did buy the Garnier Grow Strong shampoo & conditioner. Maybe because I’m older (67) and have coarser grays (color treated) it really hasn’t worked for me. I think it actually makes my hair feel and look drier. I think it may have “proteins” in the ingredients and these type of products don’t work well for my hair. I’m glad so many people love it! On the yeast infections, I recently found out I had a strain that was resistant to normal antibiotics which is why I had chronic yeast infections and that wouldn’t really go away. In Australia, boric acid pessaries are the recommended treatment for this kind of yeast infection (candida glabrata (the resistant strain)). My gynaecologist picked up on it and finally helped knock it out.

    • @marciabeth1763
      @marciabeth1763 7 місяців тому +9

It's killing me to hear y'all talk about antibiotics for Yeast Infections! Why? if you're prescribed a medicine for yeast, it's going to be an antifungal! BV's are caused by bacteria, so that's when an antibiotic would help. In addition Yeast infections are often caused by antibiotics (sometimes prescribed for acne, as well as infections like strep throat) the usual culprit can range from not wiping front to back and as mentioned earlier, to not going to the bathroom after unprotected sex. Sometimes your partner's hygiene can be a factor, as well as the old keeping a wet bathing suit on, etc. I don't mean to lecture, but since we're on the topic and I work in a medical environment...I can't help myself from commenting. x

@@marciabeth1763 I’ve had so many that told me there was nothing wrong and i didn’t have thrush and then luckily when i changed gynaecologists she tested for more strains and found it. After 10 years of recurrent thrush I thought it would never go away. So it’s something I wish more doctors checked for. I’m very thankful for finding a good gynaecologist.

    • @meganroberts4179

@@marciabeth1763definitely don’t apologise, I completely agree. I always get thrush if I am on antibiotics and was on so many doses in my teenage years for different issues so it’s not surprising.
I’m in the science field and I don’t understand why it’s prescribed either. It’s the standard of care at least in Australia.
It really confuses me looking back that I was prescribed antibiotics so many times without swabbing or investigating the strains at all. So many gp’s just throw antibiotics at everything

@@meganroberts4179 Sadly, in the States and (at the chemist where I was trained initially) UK, as far as I can tell, it's the same. I know there have to be good gp's and np's out there, who are thorough and follow up, but they seem to be fewer and far between. x

I love the Grow Strong shampoo & conditioner. Thank you Taylor for mentioning it. I have been using it for several months. I have seen a huge difference in my hair that none of the high-end brands could fix. The damage from hot tools is gone & it's growing faster. I also use a small amount of the leave in cream, halfway down my hair & on the ends. After using La'nge hot brush, my hair is super soft.

Get a humidifier!! As a dry climate gal (Colorado) I’ve found that more than any product, the thing that helps with dry skin is a cool mist humidifier running 24/7. I recommend Vornado brand, runs well and easy to keep clean. It’s a serious game changer when you live in a dry climate.

A nurse practitioner turned me on to acidophilus for yeast infections . I put Vaseline on my feet and nails every day and then put gloves and socks on. Cereal ve healing ointment works as well. NeI use the Kerasil weekly. I love all of Gold Bonds products. They have body cream with Retinal that is great too! I tried collagen a few times and didn’t notice much difference, but a lot of people said it works. Maybe I didn’t notice a difference because my hair and nails grow well. I took it for arthritis.

Love your beauty tips! I’ve tried so many drugstore shampoos, including Garnier, in my quest for perfect hair. Adding biotin drops to my routine has been a game-changer. Got them from nutraharmony and my hair is healthier and growing faster than ever. It’s like finding the missing piece of the puzzle!
