Disagree, they've had 4-5 singers forever. Rikard and NDV and the ladies in harmonies. Long time.
I think the point we were discussing was not that Big Big Train didn't have had vocal strength-in-depth in the past. As you say, there's always been individual talent present on earlier records. But what I think listeners will hear when 'The Likes Of Us' is released, is that collective vocal strength used more deeply and collaboratively than on previous albums. There are some wonderful examples of harmony and ensemble singing to look forward to. For me, it feels like an evolution of the BBT sound but it will be interesting to see what others think once the album is available. I think it's going to be incredibly impressive to hear other new songs live in concert beyond Oblivion, Love Is The Light (from last year's tour) and now Miramare.
Love this band. And love the new songs. Not sure I connect with the lead vocals which I'm sure will take time after the loss of David.
