@@antonhagbox02 I like to think that pluto and the dwarf planets are just sort of watching from the sidelines as the rest of the solar system devolves into insanity, thinking, "well, that sucks."
Pluto is still part of the solar system... The problem is, it's too small to really be a planet. If we class Pluto as a planet, we then have to include another bunch of dwarf planets, such as Eris, which is bigger then Pluto. Idk why people think we're kicking it out. We just defined it more accurately.

the most disturbing part is that pluto uses an accurate photo of its surface. the first clear photos of pluto were taken in 2015, 9 years after it was no longer considered a planet, and decades after this video was supposed to be made
the part where they say that "it's not an eye, *it's an open wound* " and neptune shooting weird laser beams at the other planets after presumably being "mutated" by "iris", that's not the most disturbing part, no its the part where they use a picture of a dwarf planet.

So, just a small observation: When the Iris turns into an "eye", the way the ring around the "pupil" looks and behaves is somewhat similar to the way light bends around a black hole via gravitational lensing. Dunno if that's significant but I felt it was worth bringing up
I love the use of personification with the planets, you can see Neptune approaching Mars and Saturn (it even complements Saturn's rings) and with Jupiter's red spot being "an open wound". Kinda implies all the planets are sentient beings, and are all suffering from whatever has corrupted neptune
You mean WHOever? Hey, Iris was the one laughing. I’m just pointing it out. Edit: Another guy said that apparently the “BEHOLD” sequence had sounds actually from Saturn. Saturn’s rings are mentioned to be “the gateway”. So I think that the Iris used Saturn’s rings to actually get here ( and the longer it stays here, the thinner somehow become, as seen in Crusader Probe Mission ) and the beam that Neptune is firing is possibly hurting them. *The point is, Saturn is screaming.*
@@sdmedia1323 "Dear god, get a handle on your kid! I can hear them two galaxies over!" "We're kinda being robbed right now!.. OF OUR ORGANS WHAT THE FUCK!?" "OH HOLY SHIT"
@ItzEarthMapping i don't think that was Saturn being beamed by Neptune, as the Rings are no where to be seen, and it appears to have Two Moons that are visible, it may likely be Mars instead, since thats the only planet i could think of that has two moons

Daniel Wells Alright children there are 9 planets in the solar system. Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, The Iri- *wait what the fu-*
I knew something was up when it said Mercury was the hottest planet despite having some of the coolest temperatures (as it is nearly tidally locked) and Venus has even higher temperatures due to greenhouse gasses
RandomName Last Name I would argue that while it’s not overly vague, the lead is drawn out well enough, and the video goes back to normal at the end as if nothing has happened, which I enjoy. There doesn’t necessarily need to be extreme vagueness so long as there isn’t just blood splattering everywhere five seconds in.
RandomName Last Name Every analog horror series is a Local 58 wannabe until it finds its footing and morphs into its own identity. You probably don’t know this but it’s extremely difficult to create something totally unique right out of the gate. You take inspiration from what’s already been done and slowly grow into your own identity.
RandomName Last Name Good psychological horror gives you enough pieces of a puzzle to piece together something that gives a hint to what the complete image would be. Poor psychological horror gives you either the entire image and you don’t have to even build it yourself, or gives you not enough. And then there’s psychological horror that gives you barley any pieces at all, and the moment you think you’re onto something- the pieces that looked suspicious are replaced.
I don’t know if anybody already brought this up, but the gateway, lens, and iris are all parts of the human eye, going in the order of the pupil (also known as the gateway,) Lens, and Iris. You can also see the iris form a circle around it, almost like it’s an eye. Also, Gemin-EYE Home Entertainment. Yeah, maybe the “Found You!” In games for kids was literal.
"It is with us now, laughing at us" the person who wrote that knew better than anyone that the reason they are still here is because the iris finds their suffering amusing, love this sentence
idk if I'm reading too into it, but Neptune getting closer to mars combined with the text, "pieces of mars have fallen to earth in the form of meteorites," makes me think that woodcrawlers or gardeners may have started to infest Mars and then traveled to Earth on the meteorites (or possibly vessels that looked like meteors). Regardless this is one of the coolest internet horror series I've seen, can't wait to see how all this progresses!
Maybe not from Mars but every planet since Neptune was seen close to Saturn Woodcrawlers have been going from planet to planet doing God (if he even exists in this ARG) knows what
That and with a lot of inconsistencies, it would stand to believe this is an Alternate Reality. One technically like our own, and with similar if slightly off measurements. Also, it is assumed that there is or has been alien inhabitation probably since time began. The giveaway is in the name. Gemini Home Entertainment. Gemini in astrology is referred to as the "twins". The Romans called it Janus, or two faced. Our Earth, Voyager was our probe. Their Earth it's Crusader. Our Solar System is devoid of life (currently) theirs has life. Also no mention in the probe reports of Jupiter and Saturn's largest moons Ganymede and Enceladus. So this channel, Local 58, and Channel 7 may represent different dimensions in where key events have either not happened, happened in the Alternate Reality or are even threatening to spill into other realities. Just my humble opinion.
@@deathstrike because it is fictional, it's not have to be accurately based from our reality, the fact that it's loosely based is what makes it interesting
maybe Mars was just like iris a living planet that was moving around the galaxy. but mars encounter iris and they have a cool space fight. that's the reason he has a open wound. maybe mars is a corpse floating in the void of space.
Saturn is the gateway, how the Iris got here. Neptune was the power source, the mutation of it’s heart caused by the harvest. Neptune’s beams have caused the open wound of Jupiter. The Iris has been told to shut up and let the proper monsters get some sleep by His Throne. The Iris has tried to mutate His Throne. The Iris has gone blind.
None of the planet's match up to that, so that's weird. Mars is the closest, at 137 million miles away. Neptune is 2.8 billion miles away. Jupiter is 475 million miles away.
Hold on a minute. How come nobody's talked about Jupiter's Spot being an open wound? That could have some serious implications. 1) Is Jupiter being mutated like Neptune was? Are they also becoming an Iris minion? 2) ...or is Jupiter also sentient and trying to protect us from the Iris, but was attacked by the Iris to neutralize its threat? Could Jupiter emerge as a big good within this series? EDIT: Gemini's logo looks awfully like a recolored Jupiter, after all... I'm really intrigued by this because this is a potentially significant line that seems to have very few connections to other parts of the lore. A dangling thread, so to speak. EDIT: Another thought I had later -- the object listed as being "Intent" and "Alive" in the Computer Learning video didn't really look like the Iris. The Iris, when open, has a circular, centered pupil. The object in this video had a smaller eye down near the bottom of the planet. Now, this could be a stylized Iris, but I think the styling matches Jupiter or Neptune better. It's more likely than not to be Neptune, but I thought I might as well mention it.
jupiter trying to protect us could be reflected by how... A) he was named after the king of the Roman gods, and a good king would try to protect his subjects B) in real life Jupiter's gravitational pull affects the asteroid belt, deflecting potential meteorites away from earth - he is already a planetary hero to humanity
The Iris is laughing. His Throne is trying to sleep. The Iris laughs louder as Saturn’s rings decrease in width. His Throne tells the Iris to pipe down. The Iris attempts to mutate His Throne. The Iris experiences rejoice. *The Iris goes blind.*
The sound that can be heard starting at 4:12 is actually a real radio frequency emission from Saturn. All planets/stars/etc emit frequencies that can be converted into audio, and most of them are really freaky.
Two things I’d like to note- 1. At 3:12, Neptune’s wound seems to specifically be a “black eye” of sorts. It looks like the action of opening the eye is “painful.” 2. Even though it’s been almost a year since this was uploaded, 3:40 to 3:55 remains my favorite moment in the series. In its first appearance, the Iris is established as not just some powerful entity from space, but as a being that is actively malicious in its actions. 10/10 Iris best anime villain
0:23 As a amateur astronomer watching this for the first time, I love that I can immediately point out some huge flaws here: -Why is Venus bigger than Earth?? -Why is Neptune bigger than Uranus? -What in God's Holy creation is that between Neptune and Pluto??? OK, now time to watch the video...man, I love this channel!
One interesting thing to note is how it says that the Great Red Spot in Jupiter is not an eye, but a wound. The Great Red Spot has been raging for hundreds of years on Jupiter, so could this Iris have been around for that long, especially considering old Navajo tales of skinwalkers stretching back hundreds of years as well? If that's the case, why is the Iris taking a more direct approach now? Because of the Crusader 5 drone being sent into it?
How long would it take for Iris to orbit the sun? How long would it take for the Earth to be in an ideal position for transfer? In many cases, a good hohmann transfer could be done once a year almost, but maybe the orbit of Iris is eccentric like a comet? In which case, the lower end of its orbit intersects with neptune in some way?
I haven’t seen anyone point this out yet, but around 40 seconds in, the video says the Sun is situated 149 million miles away. Earth is 94 million miles from the sun, and Mars is 155 million.
I still think the “oh shit” moment in this episode hasn’t been topped by any analog horror since. Having the Iris basically realize it’s being discussed and apply its distortion to its image to signify that it’s watching our every move is a special kind of terrifying, that nowhere is safe.
Iris if it could speak: "(chillin)" "what this camera? LEMME SEE!!" "hey neptune" neptune: "me be black hol" "me consume you" "(aggresive light bending)"
Fun fact: the wailing, wind-like, high-pitched noise you hear from 4:13 - 4:16 is what the planet Saturn sounds like (go look up a video, it's the exact same noise). I thought that was a really nice touch.
I'm gonna send this to my science teacher as a "Good resource for the solar system unit" Edit: sooo, i have not sent it yet and I don't know when I'm learning about astronomy again so..
I used to have a classmate and he LOVED this horror but I'm not classmates with him anymore, so I decided to finally watch this and now I can see why this was so interesting to him.
I am obsessed with the moment Iris opens its eye. It’s just so much dread, an entity more vast than our minds can comprehend and it looks directly into your soul. I haven’t felt so disturbed by any horror genre in years
bro did anyone catch that great red spot on jupiter turning from "it is a storm" to "it is an open wound" for a fraction of a second there? and the sounds of saturns EM field playing with the light beaming after stating that saturns rings were the gateway. this goes so deep. one could say this goes deeper than the Marianas trench
Damn… Jupiter has almost always been a real one for us humans on Earth, fr fr. First SCP 2399 and now (partly) the Iris. I hope to _GOD_ it doesn't fail us later (or any other solar neighbour in our solar system, to be honest).
Seeing Neptune slowly turn towards the camera freaked me out first time I seen it. That footage at the end creeped me out too. Planet horror is so underutilized.
I like that you kept the climactic sci-fi/horror experience for the second-to-last, rather than the last, entry. Doing so makes this feel like a real VHS with dark secrets hidden within it. To have had Pluto be the moment the horror spikes or to have omitted Pluto altogether would have left this merely as a predictable "horror" vid with a VHS filter tacked on.
For those curious, the first music during the title card is by Ryan Farish called "Dream in Essence" (It's pitched down which is why it doesn't sound quite right). The one during the descriptions of the planets is by Woob called "Wuub."

Sure there may be the sudden malignant planet that is Iris, but at least SOMEONE sees Pluto as a planet, truly the wisest of our generation. #proplutoplanet
The sun isn’t located 149 million miles away from the earth, it’s 149 million kilometres. They never state that it’s located that far away from the earth however, just that it’s “situated 149 million miles away”. And what planet is located 149 million miles (during some points of the year) away from the sun? Mars. Might be overanalysing something that could be a simple mistake, but who knows?
I think there's intentional errors here, like how it says Mercury is the hottest planet (it's actually Venus) and Venus being shown as larger than Earth in the initial lineup.
This is my favorite GHE video. I love the foreshadowing at the beginning with the iris already in the solar system and all the subtle horror elements like earth being only one of the FEW planet's that can have life. I personally think this is the best one. I have only one complaint, the background music. The music itself isn't bad, in fact it is perfect. It is very calming while also unsettling, but the problem is that it is stuck in my head. I will be eating and then all I can think of is "hoy ya hoy ya hoy ya," as it echos through my head lol. Amazing video, can't wait to see the rest of what this series has to offer.
Though I'm sure someone else has pointed this out on this old video, Earth is 93 million miles from the sun, not 149 million. It *is* 149 million KM away, maybe just a typo, but what a neat incorrect detail to include!! 0:40 seconds in. Mars is about that far though in miles.
I like the small touch: "Earth is *one of the only planets* in our solar system capable of supporting life". Not THE ONLY planet, but ONE OF.
The text on jupiter says its a wound near the end so maybe Jupiter alive
And Mars is only 'mostly' barren.

RandomName Last Name I would argue that while it’s not overly vague, the lead is drawn out well enough, and the video goes back to normal at the end as if nothing has happened, which I enjoy. There doesn’t necessarily need to be extreme vagueness so long as there isn’t just blood splattering everywhere five seconds in.

idk if I'm reading too into it, but Neptune getting closer to mars combined with the text, "pieces of mars have fallen to earth in the form of meteorites," makes me think that woodcrawlers or gardeners may have started to infest Mars and then traveled to Earth on the meteorites (or possibly vessels that looked like meteors).
"The Sun, situated 149 million miles away"
Uhm, from where exactly?
Oh no
None of the planet's match up to that, so that's weird. Mars is the closest, at 137 million miles away. Neptune is 2.8 billion miles away. Jupiter is 475 million miles away.
It's 149 KM away from Earth, but not miles, probably just a mistake.
The only thing I can think of that is that far from the sun is one of Mar’s moons
Phobos by approximation
I don't think Jupiter's wound was mentioned ever again (unless there was a detail from the Crusader Probe Mission video I missed).
Gemini's logo is an enhanced color photo of Neptune taken in 1989 by Voyager 2.
jupiter trying to protect us could be reflected by how...
A) he was named after the king of the Roman gods, and a good king would try to protect his subjects
B) in real life Jupiter's gravitational pull affects the asteroid belt, deflecting potential meteorites away from earth - he is already a planetary hero to humanity

The sound that can be heard starting at 4:12 is actually a real radio frequency emission from Saturn. All planets/stars/etc emit frequencies that can be converted into audio, and most of them are really freaky.
finally someone else acknowledges the existence of that
I think it was included to imply that Saturn is screaming after its rings being kind of destroyed by Neptune's beam?
I prefer the sound of Phobos. It sounds like an alien soccer game
I think it was screaming.
Two things I’d like to note-
1. At 3:12, Neptune’s wound seems to specifically be a “black eye” of sorts. It looks like the action of opening the eye is “painful.”
2. Even though it’s been almost a year since this was uploaded, 3:40 to 3:55 remains my favorite moment in the series. In its first appearance, the Iris is established as not just some powerful entity from space, but as a being that is actively malicious in its actions.

0:23 As a amateur astronomer watching this for the first time, I love that I can immediately point out some huge flaws here:
-Why is Venus bigger than Earth??
-Why is Neptune bigger than Uranus?
-What in God's Holy creation is that between Neptune and Pluto???
OK, now time to watch the video...man, I love this channel!
it is nothing holy
it is not of God
it's called the "iris", and if i remember, it is named after the black spot in our eye
this is a horror video not an actual solar system video
> What in God's holy creation is that between Neptune and Pluto?
*It's not there by mistake.*
What kinda environment makes up the colours, would you say? Ignoring the fact is one giant organism.
Have you noticed that the great red spot is absent on Jupiter's pictures in the Crusader video? Almost like the wound has healed.
Why does Neptune open another eye
Before Pluto there’s a beam through the solar system
And why Does the behold text is on the screen
I haven’t seen anyone point this out yet, but around 40 seconds in, the video says the Sun is situated 149 million miles away. Earth is 94 million miles from the sun, and Mars is 155 million.
