Yeah. After planting 45lbs of potatoes yesterday I am ready to just sit on the couch, drink my coffee and watch sat chat. I always enjoy sat chat. Getting some of the stencils today!
Awesome, thanks! Planting already? Wonderful!
@@thefrugalcrafteryes southern Alabama. It was 73 yesterday afternoon.
Wonderful. How blessed to have the space to plant so many potatoes. My mother always said, "If you have red potatoes you have a meal".
I never plant in the south before Good Friday. For every time I do, frost gets them.
@@phillipstroll7385 it would be way too warm for potatoes by Good Friday. I plant my tomatoes around Good Friday
We have beautiful blue skies and warmth in the mid/high 40’s. Spring fever!
The stencils look like they would be so much fun to use and certainly practical also! I love seeing the paintings in your sketch books! They are so beautiful! I am glad you are feeling better after your fall! Have a great week!😉🤗
Thank you so much!
Another wonderful Sat Chat Lindsay 😊 Looking forward to the arrival of my sketchbook stencils, the two larger sets xXx
Yay! Thank you 😊
How about a paint swatch grid???? ❤
Yes!
Good idea!
Now that would be helpful. maybe in 12, 24 or 36? That's where I have issues, always trying to draw out the correct number. Great idea!!
Ohhh! A paint swatch grid! I would love that! With a place to write color and pigment info!
Yes a paint & also a colored pencil grid…. In 2 different sizes, small 5x8 & 9 x12
I love all of your enthusiasm today! I think you should delegate one whole sketch book to scenes in Maine. Start with the frozen waterfall.
Good idea!
The stencils are so clever! Love them.
Thanks so much! 😊
Another fantastic Sat-Chat. Thank you. Thanks for the tip of the dividing of the spaces on the sketchbooks.
My pleasure!
I have been looking for the kind of stencils you are offering. Ordered them all! Thank you!
Wonderful! Thanks!
Doing nothing today but staying in. Yesterday here was 55°F and sunny. Last night we got 3-4 inches of snow and today's high is 36. Ugh! We Hoosiers say if you live in Indiana, you can expect all 4 seasons in one day!! Great Sat Chat today. Love the stencils. Years ago, I bought the Fiskers hard plastic stencils to go with my Fiskers cutter. Of course I had to buy every one of them, but now I have another idea for using them. Use what I have is my mantra! Have a fun weekend!❤
Absolutely, you already have it, why not. I hope you give it a try. I think it's a game changer!
Hullo Lindsay, I believe that you are still one of the most original persons on UA-cam! I cannot see anyone else telling viewers to look through their stash and NOT buying your new product! I am not a hardcore sketchbook user, yet if I am trying to figure out how to do a project or choose colors etc, that’s what I am going to use a sketchbook for. I watch so many supremely beautiful sketchbook videos that I can see why so many people are intimidated by comparison to those artists! Thank you for sharing all of your thoughts and ideas from this week! I love the idea of your new product and I am hopeful that you will sell out the first run of them!
I have liked every paint product that I have purchased from DaVinci Paints of California! I love their watercolors and I have purchased the mixing set of gouache. I have mentioned my tumultuous relationship with gouache before so I have not used the set up! I have used more of the white than any other color! I know that you will create a fair review and since you use gouache so much more than I do, I am sure that you will be more knowledgeable than I ! I understand the pressure of other reviewers but I believe that you will offer your own opinions about the gouache and your experience with it. I will say if you do or don’t like it just say that! I am a true believer that not every product is for everyone! I am still at a loss as to why anyone would like to use a watercolor paint that does not easily rewet, does not contain what the company says it does(precious gemstones) and is higher priced than every other brand! Yeah, you know what I am talking about!
Please take care, be safe and enjoy your weekend!
Thanks 😊 I told the folks at craft stash that I wasn't going to make a product that collected dust in people's studio or would be cast aside when it was out of style and I don't want people feeling pressured to buy anything that won't be useful. I'd rather have a few less dollars in my pocket and a clear conscience.
Good morning. I have taken Sat chat into my own life, by that I mean I look back at the past week and go over it. And this things that were good I tell myself to be proud of and those that were not so good or made me angry I let go of. This makes for a great weekend. I wake up and am so sore , and find that I am in the same position that I fell asleep in. I look forward to your video because I have never had a good chair. Now that I will be retiring I plan to craft a lot more💕💕
Love that!
I love Sat Chat, it's like hanging out with friends.🙂
I use these metal die cut things as a template for sketching, bought them at a 1€ Store.
Happy fun sat chat! Have to get back to my sketch books! Love those stencils! I’ve Separated pages with tapes, but then you’re limited in the shape that you can make. Ooh waterfall painting sounds fun! Have a great week,
You too:)
My sketchbook is only to explore ideas and for planning. I love looking back at them.
Good morning, Lindsay! Thank you for the DaVinci watercolor review ... I thought I just couldn't find it. :) Love your adventures in hobbies!
The watercolor review was posted on Monday, the gouache review will be next month.
Hi Lindsay. Great floozies. I just ordered all four. TFS
Aww, thank you!
Oh great SATChat Lindsay!! Thanks for the reminder to use my Creative Memories Scrapbook templates. Kudos on your new product release!! Have a swell week!🎉❤🖖🏾✨💜
You are so welcome!
Your stencils are great! Can’t wait for mine to get here! We can always do a small cell when it’s difficult to work. I have So many ideas! Lindsay, you are a present, sensitive interviewer.💕 🧣Namaste 🙏
Thank you so much. I try, I have a lot of improvements to make, but it's a wonderful challenge.
What a wonderful episode ☺☺☺
Thanks!
Thanks Lindsay, have a really great week!
Thank you! You too!
I restrung my electric guitar while I listened, but watched it a second time in case I missed something which I did. I'm an awful multitasker. Some of the stencil ideas to make bigger shapes is such a great idea. Looking forward to your upcoming videos and podcasts, and to see Penny! Don't forget that wonderful time change is coming up in a few weeks. Have an excellent week. Thanks for another great Sat Chat.
I can't wait! My body us ready for daylight savings, I am having a hard time staying up past 9! 😆
Looking forward to the podcast with Harry. Enjoyed SatChat as always😊
Yay, thank you!
Hi, Lindsay. Thank you for your video.🎉.
You are so welcome!
Well, I have quite a few hobbies. Fishing, playing guitar and singing in nursing homes and churches, art of course ( which is what I do nearly every day) Thanks for a great satchat.
Those sound fantastic!
I loved the template ideas. Over the past week I finished three 5.5 x 8.5 sketchbooks. Two were two years old. The other one was 30 years old. I am caught up on old sketchbooks. I have two brand new books I will begin this week. Yea! I would love to have that heavy, comfortable kind of sleep again. I am 65 now so I guess I don't need as much sleep anymore. Lol! Have a good week.
Nice job on the sketchbooks!
Your new layout stencils look great!
Thanks so much!
I had to order all the stencils sets because . . . reasons. 😊 My favorite part of this Sat Chat is Avantgarde HeartScarf! I laughed out loud every time you said it. I rarely comment on UA-cam channels but I have to tell you, yours is my favorite. Your Sat Chats make my weekend.
Aww, thank you!
The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. LOLOLOL. Thanks for this fun Sat Chat. Love the stencils; great idea.
That's it!
I enjoy Sat Chat so much...thank you Lindsay!! And I just have to mention that you have the best hair ever! I remember when you had it longer and then shorter. The color and length you have right now is awesome...I'm a little jealous. But wamted to mention it because I think it's important to pass on compliments. All it takes is a moment.
Oh thank you!
i could not get back to sleep this morning so i just got up early.,sat chats with you are a joy, thank you for sharing ,i got out my small fiskars template and drew small landscape shapes in my artistro journal book ,i have several of those, now i have to figure out how not to go outside of my lines ,knowing me i will just paint outside the lines ,love you
It's ok to go over the lines, you can always clean it up with white paint later.
I've never heard a better description of winter roads! 😂 so true!
😆
I love sat chat :). Really enjoyed it. Really really jealous of your snow :). Spring here so we are cutting down big trees, some beautiful pieces to carve too, and watercolour crayons. You do have hobbies:) kayaking, pottery....:). Have a wonderful rest of the weekend. G
Thanks! Actually the snow changed to rain in the afternoon so we have less than when we started lol 😆
:)
Good morning. Congratulations on the stencils! They look really awesome and I think they will be popular. I am still working on doing some motivational things, but pushing the pile. I hope you have a great week. Take care.
Keep fighting the good fight, my friend!
Always enjoy your SAT CHATS 🎉🎉🎉
So glad!
Tip for hot glue on the wall. If you put a piece of painters tape on the wall then the hot glue on top of that, if you change your mind you peel off the wall and no more glue. I've never used it on a textured wall but worth a try.
That's clever!
I have to tell you that I totally enjoyed the week of watching your Altenew Watercolor class!!!! I was out of town during the live but I will be working on my assignments soon! And YES I ordered the stencils!!! Woo Hoo can’t wait to play. Have a wonderful weekend!
Awesome! Thank you and enjoy the rest of the class!
Your hobbies include kayaking, hiking with ur dog, intermittent sourdough bread baking, you have hobbies Lindsay! Silly girl lol
So true!
The 5 x7 I’m going to use in my 5 x 8 sketchbook, but mainly I do abstracts & florals, might try some simple landscape….I never thought of breaking up the pages, such a great idea Lindsay, thank you. I would end up cutting up pages & then I have little papers all over the place.
Wonderful!
The stencils look like fun. I’ve made it a point to nature journal once a week and plein Air once a week. I’ll have to try the stencil method. Today I’m repacking my plein air bag.
Nice!
And I love when you get excited on your podcast too!💕 Namaste 🙏
Me too!!
These stencils look great! Thanks for making them happen, Lindsay. I also got a 15% discount for buying two or more. Can also use them for larger paintings. Have a great weekend, everybody.
Yes me too discount was great
That's so cool!
Just ordered some of the stencils, I was waiting all week for the release. Thank you for creating them. It makes the sketch book much less intimidating to me.
Glad you like them!
Good Saturday Morning. You must bring back sketchbook Floozies ! I want to be one!
You can, I have a new #sketchbookfloozy challenge to share too. I've had so many projects going on that I fell behind:)
Hey Lindsay!
I am currently working on one small and one large project. The interesting thing about the small project, a still life fruit bowl with a sterling silver bowl: it was sketched quickly on a small piece of defective, old watercolor paper that produces spots when you paint on it. Once I realized the sketch was coming out well I froze up and completely ruined the silver. I could not scrub off the heavily staining mixture. I used to create the gray.
So I developed a plan to allow me to repaint the silver bowl without touching the fruit. I am practicing until I can do that well. Haven’t finished but I will!
If you are interested in hearing whether or not it was a successful attempt, let me know.
I am curious myself to know whether I can pull it off. L O L.😂
Happy Painting!
SARA
Sure, are you going to stick with watercolor or finish it I gouache or something else?
@@thefrugalcrafter watercolor- after I cover the bowl portion with WC Ground layers! Hopefully…
@@saral.1933 that should work great!
Glad that you are feeling better! It snowed again last night, just a few flurries nothing blizzardy, thank G##! Love your SAT CHATS!
Thank you! Oh, I received your lovely valentines card, thank you!
I have more hobbies than I have time for, lol. Today, I’ll be at UMaine all day for the International Dance Festival. If you don’t already have plans and want something fun (and free) to do today, I lightly recommend it! There’s a show at 2:00 and another one at 7:00 at the CCA.
I’m also so excited for your stencils! I ordered one of each last night after dress rehearsal!
Fun!
Hi Lindsey, would you do a card making video using new stencils? They look super nice! Great Sat chat as always
Absolutely!!
Good morning, SatChatterers! Re: Hobbies...you do have a few hobbies...you read for enjoyment; you like to bake bread; you enjoy kayaking...
Good point! Thanks!
Remember when you demonstrated tossing the three balls next to you? Juggling is a hobby.
True!
rubbing alcohol helps release cold hot glue from surfaces btw.
Good to know
Hi Lindsay. Congrats on launching the stencils. I am going to visit my son and his wife in MN next month so my plan is to order some art supplies and pick them up when I get down there. Also plan to visit a few art stores we don’t have in Canada like Wet Paint and Blick Art. I will be adding a set or two of your stencils onto the list. Have a great week!
Great stores!
The templates are great! I am not a sketcher but I love the examples you showed. You could punch a hole in the inserts and put them on a metal ring to hang them with the larger ones. Or, you can just ignore that suggestion since your storage method seems good for you. 🙂 You're not a hoarder, your frugal, always using everything until it is used up or falls apart.
Great idea!
Lindsay, what are the circles in the background? A color wheel with your new stencils? LOVE Sat Chat!!
It's a wooden puzzle I bought my kids back in the day. I kept it when they outgrew it because it so happy and cheerful and reminds me of the toddler years.
@@thefrugalcrafter Awww… how sweet is that?!?! ❤️
That's some really good product design with the stencils! You are a true pro. And I was delighted to see that shop ships all around Europe as well (and free)! Your sketchbook pages look so inviting I want to start painting right now. But this made think of when you talked about languages and international audiences. I think I understand 100% of what you're saying, _except_ when you talk about measurements. Inches make no sense to me so you might as well have changed into a different language. xD No worries though, I'm sure they will work with our paper sizes as well.
I get it, I can't estimate a centimeter lol!
If you ever want to remove a hot glued item from a surface, you can use dental floss. Just get a piece of floss and put it behind the hook (etc.) and slide it back and forth. The item will pop back off quickly. You can heat it a little but it is usually not necessary.
Good to know!
I'm a card maker who gets overwhelmed by product but I purchased your stencils because they can be a craft room staple! As I was recovering on the couch from a vigorous walk 😆
Awesome!
Happy Saturday chatterday 🤗💕
Same to you!
Well I have LOTS of hobbies, because I don’t make money on anything I do! But I spend enough…. Stencils are on order, I will prep a couple of sketchbooks, because I’m gonna have some extended chair time coming up in a couple months- total knee replacement. Hoping it will get me mobile again eventually. Today will start clearing some clutter around the house to start getting ready.
Smart move, good luck with your surgery.
I love your idea. It will really suit me. I was ordering stencils @$22.00. They need $19.00 to ship to Alaska. I'll order them when I figure out someone to mail them to and have them forwarded to me. Meanwhile, I'll use what I have...... ❤
They have free shipping over $40, maybe they have other items you need because it will cost the same as paying shipping.
Thanks. I'll try that. They have already reached out to me to ask if I need anything. I'll respond tomorrow. ❤️
Sat Chat is the best, honestly! I think there are lots of hobbies you might be considered to have - sourdough, pottery, fair weather plein air painting. 😄 give yourself some credit madam!
Love that!
I'm in the begining of making a TN for our trip to the Grand Canyon later this year. I am also learning how to paint with watercolor. I did a landscape late last year and gave it to my son in law for scristmas of one of the photos my daughter took in Sedona. Happily, it was well received. May have helped that we gave him a $50 gift card too. Lol
Nice!
Thanks for a great chat. Watched you and Steve on the pod cast kind of was busy so you were both on in The background lovely pod cast. Yep painting is a your hobby, hang on could you like go a day without painting ….. maybe it’s an addiction 😮aww so shouldn’t go there lol. Have a lovely weekend.
Since I make a living with my painting I don't think it counts as a hobby (although I did paint for fun today without filming)
Congratulations on the product launch. I have never done something like that, but I know it takes many steps. I hope it is wildly successful. I would say one hobby of mine is definitely baking. Yesterday I made homemade danish. The laminated dough takes 2 to 3 days to complete and several hours of actually hands on time. But I get a lot of satisfaction from things like that. Have a wonderful week. Time to take a walk. Lots of bundling still required here in MN despite the mild weather. But I am a fair weather outdoors person. When do you leave for France?
Yum! I go mid may:)
Oh yes, shopping is most definitely a hobby. And there’s a difference between shopping-to-buy, shopping-to-save, and shopping-to-(people)watch. Not that any of those I have, uh… ‘practiced’. Very often. Or enjoyed. A lot. Usually accompanied by cup #3 or 4 of coffee… 😅😆
So true!
I just order the 2 as you suggested. Looking forward to using them right away!! What’s a paint off??
Paint out, it's an event where artists gather and pint in a location.
I love the name “Sketchbook Floozy”! It’s distinctive, it stands out. When you see the word “floozy” you do a double take… wait, what did that say? It causes a stop and look moment. Good job! 👍🏻😊
Love that!
Good Morning Lyndsey! I get so excited friday evenings knowing sat chat will be up when I get up. Thank you for all your hard work. Have you given any thought to having a retreat here in the US? I would so love to go. I will just be coming back from Germany, so I can't do France this year
You are so sweet, yes actually, I am thinking of doing one in upstate new york:)
Oh! I want to be the first to sign up!
I love the name.
Would love to see the plein air video when you get to it. Thanks for the fun video!
Sure thing!
I ordered and got a discount for ordering two!
Sweet! I didn't know they were offering that!
if you have stackables dies those work, make a template with that
I make my own stencils on the scan n cut, it's so much cheaper that way as mylar doesn't cost that much. And you can design your own which is really fun to do. I also save my negative paper cuts from die cuts and scan n cuts to use on the gel plate, the more paint gets on them the sturdier they become and if they do fall apart who cares, it's just paper most people will her just throw out. See, I'm frugal, lol!
Nice! I do that too sometimes!
The front dee ring on the harness that teaches the dog not to pull just taught my dog she can run sideways.🤦♀️🙇♀️😂
😆
I watched your podcast with Steve Mitchell, who I love, and thought you did a great job. Be kind to yourself.
I appreciate that! I just see so much room for improvement on my end, my guests have all been excellent. I want to make them look good:)
I am crocheting little pink hearts for a blanket for my grand baby due in a month. I can’t crochet a whole blanket so I used a knitting loom. Only about 40% of my hearts are usable. Can’t follow directions to save my life! 😂😂
Lol, same.
I laughed out loud with the Dave Ramsey debt snowball analogy. Hahaha
Whatever works 😆
I would love to have one of your cards!
Thanks!
Keeping a notepad, Journalism 101... Lol and you did broadcasting as a major!!! Lol, I'm speaking to the choir!!! Lol😂
I've been watching the podcasts/vodcasts and love them. Would love it if you would have Andrea Nelson as a guest!
I will have to check her out!
@@thefrugalcrafteroh! You should! She is super fun.....like you! She makes art accessible for everyone. She's on IG and UA-cam.
I would like to get into plain aire painting but I am going to have to figure out proper media for my very arid climate here in Southeastern Arizona.
Oh that's tough, maybe our paint or pastels.
Avantgarde Heart-Scarf would make a fantastic cat name 😹
It would!
The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
Yes! That's it!
It's funny how many financial people talk about the "Debt Snowball"... I used to follow Suzy... Orman??? Yeah, that's right... and Melody Hobbs, when I learned the hack!!!
I think both Suze and Dave had solid advice. I am an anti debt, save for the future type of gal.
Craftstash insists one choose between USA and UK. I'm in Canada :0(. I'm probably way closer to you than most of the USA and all of the UK. Where do I shop?
See if with price conversion one is better than the other for you. They will shop out of the UK either way, I believe.
@@thefrugalcrafter Thanks much!
🇬🇧🥰
Wellll by the definition…I don’t have any hobbies either. Everything I do eventually makes its way onto my UA-cam channel, or Patreon, or Facebook group.
Haha, same my friend!
I would love to do watercolor techniques and turn them into cards. I know you have a new class for this but I just didn’t want to buy more stuff which was included in class cost so I opted not to sign up, but the concept of playing with watercolor techniques and turning them into cards sounds fun. Just sayin. Take care.
If you only want a class because you have products my 30 days to better watercolor is all painting on cards and we do 30. You can find it at lindsayweirich.teachable.com I also have lots of free tutorials on UA-cam where I painted on greeting cards:)
9:30! I'm lucky if I'm asleep by 2:30.
😆
I made an A9 card for the first time. Wow that was different.
Nice!
I didn't notice any volume issues in the podcast. We come to learn & visit with a familiar face. Not to analyze editing & audio skills. If that isn't why the viewer is here shame on them.
Aww, than you Phillip, I just want to put out good quality stuff:)
@@thefrugalcrafter and you do, always. And we thank you for it!
I mentioned the mic last week. Probably on IG or Facebook though.
O maybe, I don't recall seeing it. I think I fixed the problem, it was just turned up too high.
You make me laugh😂
Yay!
LOL - I think one of your hobbies is The Room Of Hoard.
Haha, right!
I thought you where an art graduate….. wow you are so talented, but then again you are a very engaging talker
Nope, my parents didn't approve of art school, and they were footing the bill, 😄
@@thefrugalcrafter my dad didn’t either so I went later & paid for most of it myself, but she still helped because I was living at home, so think of it what you will? Just interesting. So how did you learn to draw so well? My background is in graphic design & I try to draw but still never happy with it, I can draw flowers & easy things but not animals, but I am teaching myself shading thru coloring book tutorials very informative as well as watching your work, love how a few strokes in the right places just make things come alive.
@@nedanashu5025 I had arr lessons at a young age and never stopped drawing and painting. My parents wanted me to be an architect I think 😆
Hobbies are important, I think. Do you still juggle? Or roller skate?
Yes! Although I don't skat as often as I like since my local rink closed.
Your hair is getting so long! I bet you'd look really cute in a high ponytail with a bandana tie ~ maybe for Sat Chat sometime?? That's about all I've got to say this week. 😀 Happy Leap Day on Thursday!
Great idea!! I wear bandanna a lot in the summer!
😂 okay you must name your next pet Avante-garde Hartskaarf!! .. yes I know, that's how I saw the spelling when you said it 😂. If it's a boy, Sir/Lord Hartskaarf, a girl Lady Hartskaarf, when need be! 😂 Will wait patiently to see them donning said avante garde heart scarf!!

I like Artgear Guide
He's terrific!
Think of it this way, you have hobbies you love AND you get paid for it! much better than getting paid for something you hate doing. Dictionary be ... .
That's a good point!
What happened to the pottery has that become a hobby? I like sketchbooks as finished work they store in the bookcase and i go back to them like photo albums.
True! I haven't done it lately tho lol!
