I am not a fan of a tablet thing. I never use a tablet before. And I used to think that a tablet is useless. But, during pandemic time, I find myself spend more time at home. I like browsing and doing random research and taking note. I decide to buy a Samsung note tablet, it is very useful. No matter we think how useless it is. After purchasing it, we always find reasons to use it more productive. It makes me download more learning apps which I never did before on my phone due to small screen. I also need to preserve the phone battery for calling and other necessary uses. It is also inconvenience taking note and reading on my phone. I have a Kobo e-reader, but it is not good for browsing and doing research online. That time I started to think that a tablet is useful for extra learning such as browsing, taking note, entertainment, simple gaming, longer battery than laptop and doesn't drain battery during standby. And it also can do some basic document tasks. It is a supplement of a laptop. Another thing I love about tablet is that it uses mobile system, so there are many available apps to choose for learning, gaming, and entertainment. From my experience, I use laptop everyday, laptop is useful if you know what you are doing, such as working on intensive documents, doing graphic works, and other professional that need big software to handle. Laptop is not good for media consumption due to shorter battery life. I have used my laptop for 3 years, now the battery lasts only 2 hours which I cannot even finish watching 3 hours movie. Besides, when I just want to do simple tasks like browsing and watching video, it is boring to use a laptop which I need to turn on and turn off every time. I think it is good to have a tablet for extra learning, playing game and media consumption (if you can afford) and a laptop for professional uses.
I like my laptop and iPad but part me likes my laptop more. I got t for Christmas from my mom and love my laptop, made me miss having a computer. I didn't like the hulking pc I had with it, keyboard, and the minor often taking up space. I hope by next year or two get a laptop to replace this old latitude laptop I got. Debating about getting rid of my ipad

No contest laptop all the way. Tablets are toys nothing more. i have had both and the lack of keyboard and disc drive and the abilty to upgrade the parts means a tablet is crap. If you do get a tablet get a windows one it will run things like borderlands 2 with all the dlc,s or farcry 2. android tablets run silly little phone games that last 5 minutes.
