LISA B excuse you? I said nothing rude. You need to do a lot of research on sugar gliders before getting one. They are not easy pets to care for and far too many people buy them on impulse and don’t realize until too late that they can’t take care of them and then they are either neglected or abandoned. The fact that she doesn’t know that female sugar gliders don’t get spayed proves that she hasn’t done enough research to be looking for a sugar glider, much less care for one. Not sure why you felt the need to comment on this but you should reconsider commenting on things you don’t know anything about.

p0wfu expos make it seem like all you need to do is give em a tiny cage and cat food just to sell them and people dont know how to actually take care of them. Im not getting gliders for another three years and ive been researching for a year and a half already. Animals are more then just being fed and alive
My glider Lexa was a rescue from a pet store. Her mate was deformed, with a compacted nose and protein blind in one eye. I agree with most of what she has said in this video. Lexa is now 13(14 in January) and is an amazing pet. When I purchased Lexa and Hawthorne there was no real way to fix them. By the time it was generally safe to fix the males, I had 8 living gliders, 4 that died from deformities, and two of the live ones developed protein blindness before the age of 2. The male, after the procedure, lost half of his manhood to blood clots. Still Hawthorne managed to live for 12 years. I found good homes for 4 of the gliders. the remaining two could not find good homes. One was mentally unstable, and the other was completely blind. Both were aggressive due to mental issues, and took a lot of time and effort (Thor never did stop nipping when it was nail clipping time, but that had to be scary as hell for a completely blind glider). I did my research into what was stated they should be fed, and found that the fundamental thing is that they need a good 60-40 mix. 60% protein, and 40% fruits and vegetables. Like she said, the pellet foods were just not that good, and by the time they actually got decent. I couldn't even use them as a filler in a pinch. Lexa and Hawthorne would starve themselves before eating the pellet foods. So baby food it was. The trick was variety of food. I would never feed them the same food twice in a row and would buy different baby foods. I would also mix in unflavored yogurt at times, and would give them small pieces of cheese as treats. Hawthorne loved sugary things, so I had to be careful and only feed him his favorite foods once a week. Lexa loved yogurt and vegetables, so got her favorite foods more regularly. I avoided feeding live insects because even though that is common in the wild, it leads to bone degeneration earlier in life. So rather than trying to deal with feeding more calcium to compensate for the phosphates, I just opted out of that whole mess. Too much calcium can cause problems in gliders as well. Liver failure is a silent killer of these little guys, so be careful when using too many vitamins. Sugar becomes a big deal as they age, avoid sugary foods when they get older as they can develop diabetes. Lexa is still healthy and going strong, despite losing Hawthorne to pneumonia. (Don't get me started on vets saying they take sugar gliders, then don't understand what it means that you need to get them in NOW.) If I can impart any advice, it is to watch their habits and behaviors. They try to hide their issues, so you need to know how to see if they are happy or not feeling well, before they show you that they are sick. I have so many amazing stories with my two little ones. They really are the most amazing creatures.
Best video for beginner owners and researchers . Great job! When you played the audio bark of the gliders my little sister started going “up ! Up! “ it was so funny😂
I live in Colorado, I'd love to have a rescue pair as my first. I plan on getting everything else before the sweethearts though so I'm ready. Love how informational your video was.
I’ve been doing research all day about these adorable angels and I plan to do more for many years before I even consider owning them. This is the most helpful thing I’ve seen all day about proper care and I really appreciate you wanting what Is best for them as I see that there is a lot of false information that people have been spreading about taking care of them. Being a teenager, I know I don’t have the time or money to give them the love and care that they deserve even if I tried my hardest.. which makes me sad because I’ve wanted to own a couple for years but I’d rather be ready to take care of them instead of mistreating them. If you are still helping rescues in a couple of years, I would love to offer a ready and happy home for them.💕
I was really hoping to watch the care guide and then think sugar gliders are a lot of hassle but this care guide makes me want one even more! I currently have a few geckos and a dog, but I love animals and I love watching them, playing with them etc. I have wanted sugar gliders for many years but they're so rare in the UK and pairs are often very expensive around £1,400 for a pair which have been bred in a safe environment! Hopefully one day I can increase my family and have a pair of sugar gliders!
If I get sugar gliders I will probably get them from Craigslist because I have done tons of research and a lot of people re home their sugar gliders on there. And some people actually include the cage and accessories. But thank you so much for making this video.
Im so grateful for this information. I foster animals but always wanted these. I finally found a good pair and am learning as much as I can before they arrive next week. The family has had them for 5 years but cant take them when they move so these will come with everything familiar with them as well. 🥰
I just found your channel and youre so cute, and youre so nice! I feel like sugar gliders are being popularized just like hedgehogs are and im SO glad you made a video about sugar glider care! ❤

I want one so bad. God they’re just so amazing but I’m scared it’ll end up being more responsibility than I’m ready for. I had a ferret when I was like 11 and was definitely not ready for it. I actually have a lot of regret and sadness with the ferret :( luckily my teacher’s son was crazy into ferrets so I gave her to him. I’m definitely happy she went to a good home.
Oh I feel you. I had ferrets, and I did kinda okay with them but really didn't give them enough playtime. I want sugar gliders more than anything, but I don't think I'll be able to keep up with the fresh homemade diet. It was very responsible and loving of you to re-home the ferret you couldn't care for. I hope you reach the point you can try again. ❤️

Greetings from Indonesia 👋🏻 Currently I have no sugar gliders but time and time I am tempted to get one in local pet events (probably not the most ideal place) Love your video ❤ Just watching in case I finally give in and get on - wanna make sure they get proper care Though Sugar gliders are native to Australia and Indonesia, I think the socialization for proper care is still uncommon and I find that a specific brand of baby cereal is the go-to diet for my SG here which I did find odd (and I am guessing is a bad example?)
You will be spending a $1000 on a sugar glider and you need to buy them in pairs. Plus their big ass cage and their food and their toys they are very expensive to take care of
sexy lexyy depending on where u get them ull be spending 150-200 for just 1 glider. So that's 300-400 for ur pair of gliders if u get the standard pattern glider. And then the cage is anywhere between 100-200 and then food depending on how many u have is about 100 a month. Amd then toys, bowls, water bottles, wheel, pouches etc and is another 200-300 depending on how over the top ur going.
NinjaMonkey245 The Gaming Nerd yah I would have about 1k there’s always something that’s gonna get u like if u order shipping and you should always have some money for future food and toys and that stuff because something can always happen
The food shouldn’t be 100 dollars a month after you get them. When you first get them, yes. But after a while You can easily refresh the diets plus food doesn’t run out quickly
Hey I am part of sugar glider guardians. Also I just adopted a pair of female glider for companions to my single rescue glider female that I found in my local area.
Does anyone have any recommendations for breeders? I have been looking around for some during my research. I am also considering The Pet Glider. Thanks for all the info!
your video should be put out in biology class as an education, not just on sugar gliders, but to show young people how they should responsibly take any pet!
love your video! very thorough! I have four, just got them a few months ago and i'm really enjoying them! can you do a tips and tricks video for cleaning their cage, and the area around it?
I sure can! I personally have a hard time cleaning them perfectly but they will always have a smell as they are scent based animals. I will add that to my list of videos! :)
CatAleah I know this isn't possible for everyone, but what's really good and easy to is to the cage outside and use a house to just rinse it down. If you have a special nozzle, you can make is spray pretty powerfully and it is like power washing the cage, It works amazing and then letting it dry in the sun and there is no smell left
This might be a dumb question but I just emzotics video, and I think she said that you could feed them just insects, fruits, and veggies. Is that not an acceptable diet? Thank s!
I’m looking for a pet that bonds with you but I was wondering how long you could leave them alone with each other. And how long they can live without eating Ty for this video it was very helpful!
I have a question, why is the sugerglider toy sooooo colorful and made of plastic in nature, something like that doesn't happen if you don't take more natural things
Hello! CatAleah, I will be getting 2 rehomed sugar gliders tommorrow. What is my first thing I should do after I leave them be for 2-3 days? What should I do to bond with them? Should I go in my room and talk to them softly? Please give me all the basic bonding tips and info. Thank you! Please write me back as soon as you can.
Theres a lot of animal safe ways to cleanse and disinfect wood. Specifically for animals with with sensative bodys. Also i do want to know why not rope if it can snag there nails but sherpa fleece is okay? Thats the snaggiest material
I am about to adopt an adult male sugar glider from a nearby rescue. He is unfortunately solitary. At this point we are just happy to get him to our home where he will not be in the company of dogs and cats who look at him like a snack all day, but the possible future introduction process has me nervous. Is it okay to keep him alone during his adjustment period? I feel we could use a bit of time adjusting as well since I've adopted other small pets before, but never a glider, and my husband is resigned to his fate having married an animal rescue worker, but is not thrilled. He always comes around though. Last time was a duckling I raised in the house. Lol
Thank you for the video. I have a few sugar gliders and im considering breeding them. Im planning to own a pet store and im going to start with sugar gliders.
I have 3 gliders a pair and a single male I have to wait till I move to get a mate for him. he is did. but he has been alone almost a year now and has not over groomed or anything
We are getting sugar gliders! (Unfortunately my cat died so that’s the only reason why I’m gettin 2 females) And my dad has had sugar gliders wi my mom whenever she was pregnant with me... so they know how to take care of them and so do I know because I’ve been doing research

Love your video ❤
Just watching in case I finally give in and get on - wanna make sure they get proper care
Though Sugar gliders are native to Australia and Indonesia, I think the socialization for proper care is still uncommon and I find that a specific brand of baby cereal is the go-to diet for my SG here which I did find odd (and I am guessing is a bad example?)
I had my sugar glider out while you played the barking and crabbing and she looked up lmao
I have a trio of 3 females. The breeder I got them from called them the MIlky way trio.LOL
Amd then toys, bowls, water bottles, wheel, pouches etc and is another 200-300 depending on how over the top ur going.
i got 2 for 200 on cregslist with everything
NinjaMonkey245 The Gaming Nerd yah I would have about 1k there’s always something that’s gonna get u like if u order shipping and you should always have some money for future food and toys and that stuff because something can always happen
A lot of breeders will give a discount for a pair. If they don't, it may be a sign that the breeder is unethical :(
The food shouldn’t be 100 dollars a month after you get them. When you first get them, yes. But after a while You can easily refresh the diets plus food doesn’t run out quickly
I'm probably getting 2 sugar gliders for my bday! I really can't wait.
Tell me if they are easy to take care of
I would love to take in a rescue ❤❤ so would my sugar babies Joker &Quinn !!
Great information! Very thoroughly covered! Thank you for informing Potential pet owners
I'm hoping to get 2 female sugar gliders soon after a little more research. This video helped a lot 💕
So I’ve always wanted a sugar glider and every night I researched them so I’m ready
I found the best video I could find this was the best one I am getting 2 in December it’s October now so I want to do lots of research
yay! i love sugar gliders
Hey I am part of sugar glider guardians. Also I just adopted a pair of female glider for companions to my single rescue glider female that I found in my local area.
Does anyone have any recommendations for breeders? I have been looking around for some during my research. I am also considering The Pet Glider. Thanks for all the info!
the pet glider is the biggest sugarglider breeder they have well tamed and healthy suggies
He is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo CUTE 😍😍😍😍
Which one??? :3
CatAleah. The baby
I am from India Tamil Nadu u r voice is so cute like a baby 🤗😍😘
I was planning to get a sugar glider and just one but then I watched this video and now I know what ot do when I get sugar gliders
Those three little balls that are connected together are Littlest Pet Shop things LOL
your video should be put out in biology class as an education, not just on sugar gliders, but to show young people how they should responsibly take any pet!
Good Explanation..very detailed👌🏻
Well researched and comprehensive!
Sugar Gliders are the coolest and manliest pet a dude can ask for. P-P-P-P-Power!
Ethan Edelmann why am i tearing up from this comment, i feel like a baby...
love your video! very thorough!
If you have a special nozzle, you can make is spray pretty powerfully and it is like power washing the cage,
It works amazing and then letting it dry in the sun and there is no smell left
U are a part of my research 🤗🤗
This might be a dumb question but I just emzotics video, and I think she said that you could feed them just insects, fruits, and veggies. Is that not an acceptable diet? Thank s!
No, they need a special diet, please do your research, it is not fair to the sugar gliders to not be fed properly.
This video was so helpful I love sugar gliders so much and hope to get some soon👍🏻😃
Very informative video, you and your gliders are the cutest!!!
I’m looking for a pet that bonds with you but I was wondering how long you could leave them alone with each other. And how long they can live without eating Ty for this video it was very helpful!
Please make an updated sugar glider video please
do sugar gliders get along with squirrels? i have hand raised wild squirrels on my property that come in & out as they please
I have a question, why is the sugerglider toy sooooo colorful and made of plastic in nature, something like that doesn't happen if you don't take more natural things
Can you explain how you did introductions when getting a new baby?
Her : this guy is 500 dollars
Me : 👁👄👁
"Trying to sing you the song of their people" 😂😂😂
Thank you for this!!! Two sugar gliders is my DREAM PET
You did an excellent job... I want two females... however, I don’t like the idea of shipping animals.. do you know any good breeders in NJ?
Theres a lot of animal safe ways to cleanse and disinfect wood. Specifically for animals with with sensative bodys.
Also i do want to know why not rope if it can snag there nails but sherpa fleece is okay? Thats the snaggiest material
My mom works at a reptile store, but they also sell gliders. i'm hoping that will be m next pet!
They still need a kibble type of food specifically made for them because you want to take into account dental health
Where should i buy my sugar gliders in the USA and what vet should i take them to?
Cages with horizontal bars can sometimes cause long term problems with their feet. Vertical bars on the cage are better
Millie Clamp I’ve always heard the opposite
I am about to adopt an adult male sugar glider from a nearby rescue. He is unfortunately solitary. At this point we are just happy to get him to our home where he will not be in the company of dogs and cats who look at him like a snack all day, but the possible future introduction process has me nervous. Is it okay to keep him alone during his adjustment period? I feel we could use a bit of time adjusting as well since I've adopted other small pets before, but never a glider, and my husband is resigned to his fate having married an animal rescue worker, but is not thrilled. He always comes around though. Last time was a duckling I raised in the house. Lol
Dont know whos cuter the gliders or the narrator.
Best & most informative video
Most people should get ferrets instead really!
Can you do a video on how you make their food please
Thank you for the video. I have a few sugar gliders and im considering breeding them. Im planning to own a pet store and im going to start with sugar gliders.
I have 3 gliders a pair and a single male I have to wait till I move to get a mate for him. he is did. but he has been alone almost a year now and has not over groomed or anything
We are getting sugar gliders! (Unfortunately my cat died so that’s the only reason why I’m gettin 2 females)
And my dad has had sugar gliders wi my mom whenever she was pregnant with me... so they know how to take care of them and so do I know because I’ve been doing research
This was the most helpful video I’ve seen thank you so much!!
Awww they are all cute!😍
And by the way it's a great video.
And I'm planning to get two gliders soon☺️💙.
