Great video Steve. I have one question. I recall Adam Heist in many of his launch strategy videos utilises only exact match manual campaigns, leaving auto campaigns for further down the line Is this an approach you advocate, or are you pro auto campaigns for launch? I think the idea is that an auto campaign could confuse the algorithm at a time where you want Amazon to know exactly what you are in terms of a product.
I differ with Adam on this one. MAD RESPECT FOR HEIST THO. I firmly believe you need all ad type segments live, on day 1. It's good to have a single keyword manual campaign. But it's insufficient.
@@MyAmazonGuy I’m glad I asked this. Big respect for both of you, in my opinion the two best Amazon FBA channels on UA-cam. I’ve got my first product launch coming in October and was going to go with the Heist formula, but you’ve convinced me to go for a hybrid and include an auto campaign as well.
This is just @myamazonguy trying to promote our upcoming Logan Paul'esque FBA boxing match we are doing a PPV on. I'm coming for your POPE! JK:) Plan to fully watch the video tomorrow but I always respect MAGs stuff and always willing to be wrong. Maybe i'll test a little auto next launch for fun. Excited to watch the whole thing! One more amazing class. The most important points i noted are: 1- Usage of Portfolio 2- what should be the ideal TACOS 3- Why fix bid is recommended in the beginning 4- importance of Auto Campaigns 5- What, when & where to do negations.. 6- Advertising is done on SKU level, not ASIN level. 7- Why & what kind of video ads we should shoot. 8- how sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands & Sponsored Display works. 9- What are the misconception about Auto campaigns 10- Why people negate Auto campaigns and convert them into Manual? Thank you Steven Pope for sharing your knowledge with us. May ALLAH bless you.
@@MyAmazonGuy lol. I've watched this amazing video so many times. Really appreciate your great info. I have two questions please: 1) Should I run Product Collection Ads on the same keywords I run an exact match? Should I run Product Collection Ads on the same keywords I run Video ads? Should I run Video Ads on the same keywords I run an exact match? 2) I'm not clear on whether to set up my bids as Dynamic Down only or Fixed. Seems like you prefer fixed. I wondering if you recommend the same for a launch?
When it comes to listings for variations, My Amazon Guy emphasizes the significance of optimizing each variation individually. He advises sellers to create separate listings for each variation and optimize them with unique keywords, titles, and bullet points. This approach helps improve visibility and conversion rates for each variation, ultimately leading to increased sales. I recommend checking out My Amazon Guy's UA-cam channel for specific videos on PPC and listings for variations.
Could you please make a video to show how to run Google shopping ads which appear on the top the search on google with images for Amazon listings. Many people are doing it but i am struggling to find out how.
It’s critical to have Vine revues before advertising ! (Expect mostly 4 out of 5 review ratings from Vine). You’re wrong about that IMO. Maybe if massive budget an auto campaign. But reviews are key. Sadly since Amazon introduced ratings, far less buyers leave written reviews. We now advise our clients not to run ads until Vine and full A+. With some exceptions. 0.6/100 leave written reviews and 12/100 buyers leave star ratings. It’s tough out there and with new regulations now impossible to launch most new snack products in UK that aren’t made of kale.
You're right I need a more dedicated listing optimization video but this one is decent, and not on my channel, check it out ua-cam.com/video/GmqT2mndzh4/v-deo.html
Is it possible to change a manual campaign's bid strategy after the campaign has been setup? Example: If I create a campaign and use fixed bids for a launch as you reccomend, then I want to later switch to down only. Creating a new campaign means losing the sales history/data in that original campaign.

Continually great content, thank you. I'm going to be launching a brand with 3 variants, as parent-children. ~50% of sales will come from one main variant. I understand a rule of thumb might be PPC costs of around 20% for a single ASIN but how about when it's parent-child? Would you divide that 20% by three as a guide, assume 20% in total, or something else? My new brand is a truly functionally differentiated product clearly visible in the hero image with a genuinely user-centred design that nobody has and people want. I'm confident in the concept, less so in terms of margins. Really welcome advice on anticipated TACOS assuming conversion is strong. TIA
Hard to answer without seeing the product and having more info, so it depends. I do recommend a coaching call with our advertising director Matt Davis. myamazonguy.com/book-a-coaching-call/
Hello, I like to attach an ACOS goal to every campaign to see how it's going compared to my goal. Though, I kind of just made the goals up based on the campaign targeting type, where I believed is a good ACOS target based on my goals for that product, etc. But, I didn't do any actual math to get to the ACOS goal I've assigned. I manage 25+ products and each product has 7 different campaign targets. Is there a formula I can use to decide how much ad spend I should be allocating to every product, campaign type, and keyword bidding range? Or maybe where I could start with the calculations? I have a general idea based on strategies of each campaign but I want to know what the data says. I believe my yearly sales goal for that product would have a lot to do with this but I can't seem to figure out the right formula(s) to use. Thanks in advance!
Every product is different of course. In general I recommend minimum of 80% on sponsored products. Display is the last one you should focus on. Video ads are really hot right now. Once you set your acos goals you can decide how fast to ramp. If you had infinite scale how quickly can you restock etc. As you spend more on ads how much is diminishing returns and where is your plateau? These questions dictate campaign structure and budgets. After you build the campaign structures spend more on the ones that have the most effective return.
@@MyAmazonGuy Currently we spend about 75% on sponsored products & 25% sponsored brands (~7% being video), and are not currently running any sponsored display yet. I will start testing display on our top products maybe allocating 5-8% of our monthly ad spend. I've created story boards for some of our products and been trying to push more videos to our creative team, but getting some push back. Any suggestions on how I could prove the importance of video ads to my team/ceo? This would also give me the chance to test amazon audio ads and CTV ads in the future.
thanks steve! when somebody clicks on my PPC ad, saves it and buys it the next day, does it not count towards the ppc purchase? I'm trying to figure out why i am getting sales that were not counted towards PPC. My organic ranking generally is terrible because of the 300+ competitors, but I am getting a few sales everyday, not from PPC. but from where?
