You are such a beautiful human being. I watched your video on building a ladder and was so drawn to you because of your family in the video. That was 2017 and I have subscribed to your channel just so I can see the progress on your home and bask in the warmth of your awesome family. Thank you for sharing your life and your skills. I'm a 59 y.o. widow who is "DIY and use what you got" to my core. I'm an artist and woodworker with an autistic adult son. That's how I know a beautiful soul when I see one. 😉
One way to cut down on waste is plant more diversely. Instead of 12 tomato plants, plant 6 tomatoes and 6 peppers. That way you have the same coverage, but more diversity. Another strategy is plant some varieties that develop early and some that develop late. Same coverage, but the produce is spread over the season instead of all at once. Another strategy is plant strawberries as ground cover to keep weeds down. Look for varieties that are heavy spreaders (I recently saw a variety that doesn't produce runners, so no spreading at all!) 💖🌞🌵😷
We kind of intentionally plant "too much". 12 tomato plants, 25 peppers, 8 rows of potatoes, 6 pumpkin plants, etc...but as I mentioned, it's never actually wasted. "Food waste" is only really waste if it's paid for and not utilized...this is ALWAYS utilized.
We homeschooled mostly, they did the small private school near us, for a time the four younger went to our public school, and I always say that elementary school is really really good. Those teachers had a lot of kids per class but they knew each of those kids deeply, and they really cared! Now in middle school we rolled them over to the small school.
Thank you so much! I was just looking at photos from just 3 years ago, and SO much has changed. I felt overwhelmed with gratitude for all the stuff we CAN'T control! :D
For the people who aren't interested in produce, at the beginning of the season give them a tiny tomato or watermelon plant. (I can't eat nightshades, but who doesn't like watermelon?). Give the plant to one of their kids (or give each kid a different kind of plant). Who can deny their kids the learning experience of growing a plant and see where food comes from. (Whether they eat it or not.) 💖🌞🌵😷
My garden is the same. I bought veggie starts for fall and I have a few in. It’s taking me a long time. And the weeding and cutting back is over the top.
I really enjoyed the garden tour it is a fabulous garden! I went right over and subscribed to Lorajeans channel , Both on this channel which is my watch channel and my actual channel so I can watch her on either one. I’m excited to watch some of her videos and I plan to do that after I finish this one! I love the earrings you showed us they are so cute!
Ahh I'm so happy, been watching your vids back when i was 14 and it suddenly popped in my head how your family is doing now and i looked for the your vids cuz i first found ya before while searching on how to turn a milk to cheese HAHAH. Ahh I'm so glaadd
Beautiful, beautiful, love your garden and we love you all! Banjo's hair colour is fabulous! May I ask which colour/make it is? I want to do mine the same. 😀💜👸
Not many that I know have an issue with homegrown! The majority of people I know want only homegrown, home-raised food. Sorry, you don't have a community that seeks out to support each other. :) Someday soon if the world continues as it is they will wish they had, I get my meat solely from a private farm I know what the animals were feed and will stay safe.
I suspect that we are not expecting you to upload to us as often as you did in the past. So pls pls pls relax on that. We don't want to lose your time with us again. Anything you share we're happy.
Haha! Yeah, I have no intention of quitting again (that was due to some serious stress that I don't plan on duplicating ever again). But yes, thank you. Part of it is that if I skip too many days I'll get out of the habit and it'll be far too long of a wait.

I love gardening. I grew up that way on the farm. Nothing went to waste. I just put 5 gallon bags of tomatoes in the freezer today. Happy homesteading
Awesome to hear about your tomatoes! We're excited to bottle a bunch!...last time we did that we managed to make it last 14 months!! So fun!

That sounds like a really nice plan. :)
You have created such a bountiful and beautiful homestead.

The kids have such a great nature that I expect the school to recognize this and nurture their spirit as you parents do.
Thank you :) Yes, most of the teachers are really good (some not so much, but that's to be expected).

Well done it looks great, yes look at what you have accomplished I think all too much we look at the things we haven’t finished. Xx
Very true! Sometimes easy to forget, particularly when sharing with others. But we usually don't mind unfinished projects around here. haha! :D
Would love to see you get your tree and make decorations for it. Bless you all

You can do it! It typically takes us a long time to plant all our starts too.

Banjo's hair colour is fabulous! May I ask which colour/make it is? I want to do mine the same. 😀💜👸
Thank you! Yeah, we love Banjo's blue hair! We can't remember exactly what the brand was (one of the major ones), but the color was "metallic" blue.

Lots of love from India ❤️❤️🙏
Man I miss your Video and Family a lot
I’m sure it’s really weird to be home alone, the quiet
Yeah, a little. But also fun for the two of us to have some newfound freedom, too. :)
