@@jackapope8118 Ssethtzeentach has a fun video on it if you wanted to know more. It has maybe the steepest learning curve of any game, but it's worth the time imo.
Already way ahead of you, been playing Cdda since 2020, and its such a joy. I especially love the sadly neglected mutation system, or playing as broken cyborg with Aftermath , so cool! Just wish I didn't suck as much as I do lol.
@@lazarack4859 I never did anything with mutations, but I LOVE hunting for cybernetic parts and the books/resources to install them. I only managed to get finger blades on one character that wasn't already a cyborg but I didn't know a martial art that could make the most of it, and he died of an unrelated chest infection that never got better. Don't feel bad, I don't think anybody in the world can truly claim to be good at that game. These memories are really making me want to play again, and I'll be reinstalling tomorrow :)
@@JustAnotherTalkingHead That's true, my experimented on cyborg, died doing bike crash on one of those bulked up mega zombies lmao. It was a glorious death at least.
@lazarack4859 You went bravely though 🫡 I tried to solo one with a homemade macuahuitl (one of those Aztec-style club sword things) and I got 3 good swings on him before he paralyzed me by mashing my spine into paste. It's definitely a game that rewards avoiding fights lol
Right now is a great time to get back into CDDA if you want to return, a new stable version just dropped, Herbert. Some big things they have added is power grids, Mind Over Matter mod, vitamins, proficiencies, biomes, more good furry mutant stuff, and just much much more.
A fellow CDDA enjoyer. The game has a bit of drama about the way the devs are taking it now, but I dont understand the drama tbh. It is just as good as ever and they are adding quests and a bit of a storyline, and they are actually good. Highly recommend anyone play it now. Charging money for it on Steam is allegedly for the Steam Workshop support idk.
@JustAnotherTalkingHead The devs are allegedly making the game too focused on being "realistic" and focusing on supposedly making the game more closer to irl rather than I guess arcadey. Casual users like me have not noticed any difference at all tbh
@crowhorsecrowhorse1456 Ah. Understandable conflict, the game isn't super popular because it's the opposite of arcadey, but it's also truly special for that reason. I'll have to grab an updated version and check it out again. (I'm playing a version from like 2020)
@@JustAnotherTalkingHead imo some of the best additions have been the quests as I mentioned earlier. Starting as the default evacuee and then reading the console in the shelter starts you on it. It just helps guide the player to higher level labs and things where the really cool stuff is
#1 Rule of CDDA: You DO NOT talk about CDDA #2 Rule of CDDA: NO SPOILERS EVER! Download the game and NEVER delete it because it exists independent of the internet and never needs updating. You also need some solid keyboard skills if you want to play efficiently but once you figure it out the game is handles like a sports car. But I have already said too much...
It also recently updated!
@@merezko4339 looking forward to checking it out!
Looks like I have something new to check out over Christmas.
