- Sir John Whitmore is Chairman of Performance Consultants International, the leading coaching, leadership and performance improvement firm. He is the author of five books on coaching, performance and sport including Coaching for Performance, which has been published in 17 languages and sold 500,000 copies.
Sir John holds a President's Award from the International Coach Federation (ICF), and is rated as the Number One Business Coach by the Independent newspaper. The Association for Coaching cites him as having had the most impact on the coaching profession.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. Brilliant. I've also been anguishing over how to cope with my tween's behaviour. My gut was to completely change tack and give him trust and let him loose - so finding this TEDx has made my day! Thanks Sir John 😀
He has an amazing book called coaching for performance
The creator of Coaching who taught the McKinsey consultancy explains why children need to be let out into the cold without a pullover in order to allow them choice and self-responsibility, see minute 13:00 . Parents create adolescent rebellion in children by suppressing choice. Choice is the basis for creating and ownership of one’s creation which is the basis of self-esteem and confidence and future problem-solving/success
not a fast-paced delivery, and as such not up to the TED standards I am used to. Nothing wrong with the content. It was just not delivered in a charismatic way.
I'll take content over Charisma anyday.

He is talking about he to learn... how to acquire wisdom and your response is ... it s delivery is too slow.....take an hour and absorb .....
