I watched this video knowing very well that I should be doing the very thing that I need motivation to do rather than watching this video for motivation. The most important point is action. Faith, fire, focus all require action. Just do it. Now!

I love this guy! I had the privilege of working with him for this talk - just a couple of tweaks - and he is a giver, a learner, and, as you can tell by his talk, a profound thinker. Ever since I heard him talk about "interference", I've been noticing it everywhere! I'm now working on the "FOCUS" part of his message. He gave me plenty to think about!

A wonderfully simple way to view our own performance. Refreshing (and motivating) to hear that we already have what it takes to be great.

Profound and actionable simplicity! Alan's model of Greatness (Greatness=Focus+Faith+Fire+Knowledge-Interference) provides an important lens for us to view performance and to become our best self more often. The default approach to increasing performance is to add more knowledge. In this powerful talk, Alan explains why that approach often fails and how to achieve higher levels of performance through Focus. "It's not about knowing what to do. It's about doing what you know." Wow! Thanks, Alan!

Jerry Johnson: How often I have heard; "Achieving greatness is a choice you make!" Thank you Alan for helping me realize that I must FIRST explore/examine that which I am choosing to focus on! Is it the 'interference' or is it 'beyond' the interference? A simple and uniquely powerful question. Thank you Alan!

as a tennis player in a former life, that story about the voice in Alan's head in a match is so true. I've won matches and lost them all as a result of what that voice was saying. get the voice right and what i know can work at its best. great talk alan!

Amazing talk! Within this short 12 minute presentation Alan did a great job helping me hold a mirror up to myself and begin to understand some of what can get in the way for me when I try to increase my productivity and effectiveness. Simple, practical and very effective suggestions for how to tap into the greatness within yourself and others. Very helpful! Thanks Alan!!

Is it really a knowledge issue? This is a simple but great question by Alan Fine. I love how he makes you think about your own ability to be great and how he grabs your attention with the deeply personal experiences he has had in his own life!

Wow this is exactly what I've been struggling with, but just couldn't put into words. Thanks for the great talk!

The knowing doing gap totally resonates with me after 25+ years in the "knowledge sharing" industry. This really piques my curiosity about how to remove interference!

So 8:03 is the root of my problems. And I know I knew it. // After this realization and understanding what he was saying I also had realised I also discovered how to go beyond the interference/watchmode.

Are you focusing on the interference or are you paying attention to what's happening in the present moment? This is a question I will be asking myself often. I also appreciate the clarity around knowledge vs. focus when it comes to playing sports, playing an instrument or even doing chores from one day to the next. This clarity will definitely change my approach with my kids in this area.

If I already know how to be great why do I need to listen to you?
