Off topic, but I wanted to say this anyway... I purchased a Sandpiper 130 about a month and a half ago and I'm really enjoying it. I've had it out numerous times in the local lakes and also took it on a weeklong camping trip to northern Wisconsin. I love the recreational/low-end touring aspect of it and it fits my current needs very well. Anyway... If not for this channel I would have purchased some cheap, big box store kayak that I'm sure I would have had buyers remorse over. I would have ended up in a situation where I'd find myself wanting to upgrade to something better or maybe I would have been discouraged enough to lose interest in kayaks altogether. I probably spent a lot more money than most first-time kayak buyers but I can justify that with how satisfied I am with the Sandpiper. So, thank you for putting out all this good information - I wouldn't have been able to make the smart purchase that I did without your advice. Thank you very much, Dan. 👍👍
Please do a modular fishing kayak video. They have some on Amazon Berlin Kia companies, one of them and then there’s an Australian brand I think anyway please do a modular fishing kayak. Sorry about the chapter before.
Thanks for the review! I do a lot of tandem kayaking with my wife and we can't store a regular kayak at our home, so something like this would be awesome. My one question has to do with the material. We occasionally hit submerged rocks and trees when we kayak at lakes and in the ocean. Can this kayak handle those kinds of bumps and scrapes?
I have the PakAyaK which as you will know fits into one bag for easy transport and once the boat is put together it's very strong and handles just like a one piece. However, I do like the look of this boat and love that the cot pit come with well made hip and thigh brasses unlike the PakAyaK, also having a day hatch is great too, and I would also think it's lighter than the PakAyaK. The only thing that lets it down for me is even when broken down the pieces are still big and bulky, but it does look beautiful.
Yeah it’s not as convenient as a Pak but also on a whole different level of performance. But I agree that the versatility of these modular kayaks is a huge advancement for Kayaking
I test-rode a PakAyak and it freaking leaked on me ! So I am inclined to give this Stellar a good look... I also could not stand the weight of the Pakayak condensed into the backpack... Be ready for it to leak one day a it sure scared the hell out of me !
@@THE-RIVER-RAT The person who DEMO'd it for me and let me take it was smoking mad ! It was not the first quality issue they had had, so when it happened they were fuming. I presume the company SHOULD have replaced it but I don't know... Let's just say I was THANKFUL I did a DEMO test as I made my decision quickly. I drove 2 hours to them and I gave the poor owner $50.00 for their time... I felt bad for them as they were obviously embarrassed... And apologetic... But it was not their fault... The stupid hinge things did not work properly or it was a"seal" problem...
Amazing machine and for the guys that loved that type of kayaking and I’m sure I would dig it. My thing is fishing, but don’t give me wrong. That is a. Engineering marvel.😮 so please please please please please I love your channel. Great videos great production. I really dig the one that you take the kids with you and your buddy and it’s just a hoot, but please please please could you do a modular fishing kayak because they I don’t think our engineering marvels but on Amazon they have ones that look like they could be a thing kayak company has one that’s interesting. It’s a foldable kayak but then you see somebody in it and it just doesn’t look right so please please please please please do video on modular fishing kayak!!!! Did I say please? So please there’s a company in Asia somewhere not sure and they have these really cool modular kayaks look like they would be really good fishing machines but this is like for apartment guys life sucks for us so I know there’s inflatable. I really like that fly something inflatable you’re probably not gonna read this text because I’ve made it a chapter!!!
Wow! Assembled as a single, it is similar to an S14G2 or is it EXACTLY an S14G2? I see it does not have the paddle slot behind the cockpit like the regular S14G2. That's minor. But are the pieces otherwise precisely shaped like a regular S14G2? If so, I think this thing is amazing! In any event, it's pretty amazing. Did you paddle the single version to confirm it feels like an S14G2?
Very stable. I would say it similar stability to Whisper about paddles very different. Definitely something a new paddler could feel comfortable in without much effort.

Very cool thank you so much for the feedback.
Hello Lego 👋👋

Yes they can. Just don’t slam it on the ground. A glance and blow from a rock is fine.

@@LJ-jq8og I find that hard to believe, bloody hell what did PakAyaK say when you told them ?

Almost identical just a few mods to make it fit together easier, but same exact dimensions.
But whats the price? They don't list it in their site
Any reason a third cockpit couldn’t be added to get a third paddler? Would be nice for teaching younger kids.
I’m not sure. Seems like it should work in theory, but probably a better question for the folks at Stellar.
How stable is the Stellar and how does it compare to Eddyline or Delta kayaks?
Very stable. I would say it similar stability to Whisper about paddles very different. Definitely something a new paddler could feel comfortable in without much effort.
Lego is a cutie ❤
