Tornado Review, Sarkanniemi Intamin Inverted Coaster | Why Aren't There More Intamin Inverts?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 21 вер 2021
- Tornado is the best attraction at Sarkanniemi. This is a rare, full-circuit Intamin inverted coaster. Tornado features 5 inversions and several near-misses. And this ride feels far different than the more common B&M and Vekoma models out there. I just wish more of these Intamin inverts were made!

When I visited Särkänniemi in June couple of years ago and went to ride Tornado, I didn't have to wait at all. The lines really depend on the day you go there. This is still the only invert I have ridden, and I loved it, now I am so excited to try B&M inverts to see how they feel compared to Tornado.
I was surprised how busy the park was given the rain in the forecast in the afternoon.
Thanks for posting a review on this ride! I have seen POVs on the ride but never watched a review on it yet so it was interesting hearing your thoughts on all the elements! The heart line rolls are what makes this ride so high on my bucket list, especially if they are comparable to Volcano! Also holy crap, that shot of the cobra at 5:19 ! 😍
There really aren't many reviews on the Finnish parks, so I went in sort of blind.
Watching these reviews has become part of my going-to-bed routine, and I love it
Nice!
Same
Didn't even know this existed. will definitely put it on my radar if I get back to Finland.
It's one of the country's best roller coasters.
Just rode this ride 13 times back to back and the positive gs are crazy.
I can't believe intamin stopped building this kind of rollercoaster
Wish more were built.
I've ridden the Spanish Tornado and loved it, so can't wait to ride this one one day! Had no idea it was longer with more varied elements, although my friends told me about the cool underground station so I was very jealous they got to ride it. The heartline rolls look very fun.
I much prefer this one.
This looks fantastic!! I love the original B&M inverted Batman clones. These look just as good. Gotta love a good old, rare Intamin invert!
It rode much different than the Batmans and it was refreshing.
My favorite coaster on the planet c: It's just so industrial and bold.
It does have an industrial feel.
In your latest videos you often praise inversions as „one of the best in the world“: I would love to see a ranking of your top 50 inversions :D
I may do that down the road.
This coaster always intrigued me especially seeing these types of trains and track doing different inversions
The heartline rolls are my favorite.
I have been in this ride, back then I was in a class trip. It was pretty new then and massively hyped. One of the teachers looked at it and was amazed on how no one was screaming. Honestly though, it doesn't feel nearly as rough as it looks. It was pretty much pure joy for everyone I traveled with.
It's smooth and very fun.
This is definitely on my bucket list. The ride looks not only weird, but it looks actually really solid. No, good. I wonder after a couple of years how this ride will compare though, you mentioned hard OTSR’s. Hopefully, Sarkanniemi can keep this ride up in shape.
It's 20 years old currently, so it seems like they're doing what they need to.
Love your content! You speak so well, and explain the course in such a tasteful manner. Always looking forward to your videos.
Thank you!
Interesting comment about the cost of an Intamin invert being comparable with a Vekoma SLC. I imagine Intamin didn't sell more since their rides tended to come with baggage at the time while SLCs are generally trouble-free, roughness aside. A shame, since I love how the Intamin inverted coasters look and ride. Thank you for teaching us how to pronounce Sarkanniemi!
I hope I said it right!
Always great content
Thanks!
Looks like an underrated coaster 💯
It is.
A very unique Invert indeed. It's like Intamins take on an actual full circuit lift hill coaster using there Impulse design. As it's not as intense as a B&M Invert. It's sertainly more unique. The fact that it has those 2 heartline rolls instead of like a corkscrew or Zero G Roll like in a B&M, it's interesting. And there's only 2 of these in the world.
I like the uniqueness.
With your reviews on coasters like this that don’t already have reviews out there, it should bump up your sub count handsomely 👍🏼😏
I like to speak about some of the lesser reviewed/known rides.
Last time I visited Särkänniemi this coaster was just a fee years old. It was one of the only rides I went to that day. If I remember correctly it was a walk on or rather a run on. We tried to catch the next train with my sister. Good times :).
Glad you got to enjoy this with minimal crowds!
I would love to ride a traditional invert by Intamin. I wish there were more, especially in the US. I think I would prefer this to most B&M inverts. I think I would like how the cobra roll isn't snappy, as that snap typically gives me headbanging with cobra rolls on B&M inverts. The underground roll looks awesome!
That roll is the star.
Really wish Intamin would make more of these.
Me too.
this is my favorite rollercoaster :D
Nice!
A more positive review than I expected, considering the reputation of its Spanish sister. I guess we are lucky to have the better ride.
I personally think this coaster is the third best ride at the park, with number one being the skyrocket 2. It is the only skyrocket that I have ridden so I haven't gotten bored of them yet, which might change in the future. Number two at the park is the log flume, even if it isn't anything particularly special. The log flume tends to be the only ride with lines consistently hitting half an hour at the park, so I know I am not alone in this one.
Maybe I rank Tornado so low because I am not the biggest invert fan... Black mamba didn't live up to my expectations either.
By the way, did you ride X? If you did, how does it compare to the giant non-inverting frisbee rides elsewhere? I think X is by far the most intense ride in Finland, and the repeated 4g's pump the blood out of my head so hard, that I feel hollow for about an hour afterwards. I always have to ride it last in the park because of this. I was wondering if the big ones would be a bit more rerideable for me.
This one has better pacing and smoothness than the other Tornado. I did not ride X due to time limitations and that ride's queue line. I've ridden a similar ride back home and it's forceful.
I haven't riden this yet although I live in Tampere. Tornado is definitely on my this years coaster to-do list :D
I love it.
Kings Island's The Bat was the first inverted. Arrow.
I consider that a suspended coaster.
What do you think about Tornado at Särkänniemi and Tornado at Parque de Atracciones de Madrid?
The Sarkanniemi one is great. The Madrid one is decent.
Which inverted coaster is rougher, the Tornadoes, the B&M inverted Batman clones, or the Vekoma SLCs?
SLCs easily.
I need a black mamba/colorado/taron review 💪🏻
They will come in the next 1-2 months.
@@CanobieCoaster Hope you enjoyed back row Colorado 🤙🏻
Yes Phantasialand coasters pweese. Including Raik and Winjas.
Will you review Tornado at Parque de Atracciones de Madrid?
I don't have immediate plans since I only got one ride on it due to their policy needing a full train to run it.
Is this better than the one at Parque d’Attracciones de Madrid?
Definitely.
What do you think about the two Tornadoes and the Vekoma SLCs?
This Tornado is great.
I feel like after awhile intamin rollercoasters become rough and it seems like most parks don’t address the issue. I wonder if it’s more expensive to repair intamin track than b & m track. Just feels like the intamin trains are going to rattle apart.
With a B&M and Intamin, I find the wheels play a bigger role than the track.
well for me i do love the coaster but got some problems with shaking on the first drop and on the last brake run and that hangtime on those heartline rolls are insane
I found it smooth thankfully.
I haven’t ridden this I really wish these existed in America I’m actually surprised none exist in America
Me too.
I'd like to add that Tornado was partly built according to the local terrain, so there isn't a coaster which is 100% the same as Tornado.
It's very unique.
Volcano is kinda a full circut intamin impulse coaster.
Pretty much.
Is the Intamin Invert better than the Intamin SFC (DrageKongen specifically)
I would guess so since they’re family coasters but who knows, rides like Hagrids are really good even if they’re family coasters.
But they are intense just like the SFC which is just a Vekoma STC with no inversions.
@@coasterhockygamingboy9549 Oh really? That’s pretty cool. I guess I can put that on my bucket list too.
I haven't ridden DrageKongen.
How smooth is tornado at parque Madrid?
You get light headbanging throughout.
Did you ride the Tornado at Parque de Atracciones de Madrid?
Yes, it was pretty good.
plz review kingda ka. I rode that, and that thing is forceful.
I already reviewed it.
Even if intamin installed more full circuit in verted coasters, I don't think it would selled as well as the b&m Invert and the vekoma slc, plus the latter is the best selling because it is the cheapest
This cost similarly to SLCs surprisingly.
@@CanobieCoaster yeah but what about the reliability
4:58 That faucet fountain was really, really fucking with me for a second. Hahah "whaa?" Damn buddy, you need a traveling partner haha? You get to all the parks. ha
I visit some parks alone and others with friends/family.
THE TRAINS LOOK LIKE THE ONES FROM POSSESED AT DORNEY PARK
They do!
I PERSONALLY didn'tknow that intamin made inverts. Have you rode kingda ka?
Yes
There used to be one in the us
Volcano?
@@CanobieCoasteryes
rip
Which "Tornado" did you like more?
I think this is my favorite Tornado unless I'm forgetting one.
This was a really good video but you gotta work on your voice not sounding so monotone
Thanks for the tip. I'll see if I can improve there.
Im Finnish and i dont get it why everyone just talks about Linnanmäki when Särkänniemi and Powerpark/Powerland are just as good or even better Linnanmäki has just Taiga and… thats about it
Linnanmani was my favorite park there, only by a slim margin.
It's not an "attractive" looking rollercoaster (without sounding weird)
I like how it interacts with pathways and structures.
