This list is not THAT bad my friend... It is perfect for the type of game I do prefere....which is beer and bolter..... You would be very welcome in my horus heresy club .(Montreux switzerland)..we are all playing that way... Very nice looking models anyway.... Keep it up !
Thats one great looking army, and an interesting discussion about army/lore construction, would love to see some videos about your other armies, like the raven guard you've talked about in other videos, when are we getting a new video in the getting started series?
Looking great, Macca! I make these type of lists a lot and usually catch some good-natured shit from others about it, haha. But I think it's important to have a theme and to take units you enjoy, rather than taking the obviously good units that everyone else does.
Nice video Macca. I've decided to do a small thousand sons army as my next project to improve my painting and because they have the best fluff. Would you consider doing a video outlining the "fluffy" choices for a TS force based on the FW and BL books? Also, what are your thoughts on missile launchers in 30k over more expensive dedicated heavy weapons? Cheers!
I covered them in the "is it shit" series, but basically they are so hit and miss (literally) because the flak missiles are shithouse for the points you pay, S7 isn't enough for reliable AA, and the S8 ones are too weak in the AV 13/14/15 meta of Heresy, whilst old 7th ed was much more an AV12 meta.
To be honest, there is nothing wrong about having Tzeentch symbols on a 30k Thousand Sons army. That is the canon anyway considering there is alot of Tzeentch iconography on TS icons. (All cult symbols are a distorted version of Tzeentch's symbol, TS solar sun icon is also a distorted Tzeentch symbol, 30k Ahzek Ahriman even had a 40k Tzeentch's symbol engraved on his legs).
One thing that disappointed me about heresy was that there was no av13 box dread. The Ironclad was one of the first kits I bought and fell in love with.
Love the army and the theme. Love theme over power myself, my 3rd company elite army is also shit, but I love the theme. Gone for three squads of ten Karkophoni Marines; transports that sort of thing, no super heavies. Time period for the army is around The Path to Heaven. Colour scheme wise, black and fleshy pinks, with reds and brass additions, added mutations here and there. Be interested to see a video regarding the 3rd Company Elite. Would also be interested in your opinions on what forgeworld is likely to go with Emperor's Children going forward. Regards and good luck with the competition.
My mate Wadey has an awesome Emperors Kids army, he has a 3rd company elites force, my Volkite Culverins unfortunately were slaughtering a unit of them each turn, even with attached medicae!
The Outer Circle: it's an hard list to get along with especially as they do like to kill themselves as well. But I try to put on a good show (if I'm beat early, I'm first in line for the pub anyway lol). Would love to see a sonic character that boosts Karkophoni and hopefully a sonic Contemptor. Just reinforces the mad scientists and Frankenstein monster aspect of the force.
I always wanted a mad flesh-smith force, with a noise marine/fabius style warband, with lots of flesh and vat-grown experiments, like a Dark Eldar Haemonculi force, but the rules just don't exist to do it any kind of justice.
I also have a 3rd Company Elite army and agree that it doesn't play 100% to the strengths of the EC but is fluffy as hell so I still love it. That said, what other army has a 36" Strength 6 weapon for its troop choice?
The Outer Circle: would be fantastic, my wish listing would be to have have an entire sonic army with upgrades and Dearmoned allies; such as the fantastic 3.5 40k codex. Will have to see what forgeworld has In mind for the Emperor's Children in the future. Though we are still waiting for all the legions lol.
I have noone to play against over here, but I enjoy building cool models and Horus Heresy is full of cool ones, then there's the really ugly ones like the deredeo lol. I respect your uncompromising "I build what I want and like" attitude!
I applaud a theme list, though not sure I would take one to a tournie. Would you ever considering the converse and run a super broken 1k sons list? Lets be honest, guard of the crimson king can get a bit filthy
They do it so that the highlights on the top panel looks brighter in contrast to the dark at the top of the side panels. Almost exclusively used on vehicles. It's less realistic but more striking.
Tough question. I played back when the fluff was quite a bit.. different. I think Tzeentch really attracted me at the time because it was more interesting to have a strategic cunning force. Khorne, Nurgle, Slaanesh, they all conducted their fights in such a similar way, blunt force. Sure, it may be more brutal, more insurmountable or graceful, but they nonetheless are personal forces. Tzeentch forces however fight you as much off the battlefield as on it. You start to embody the aspect of the army in a strange way. You use psychic powers, magic, you are playing a game on a different level to your enemy, a game they maybe don't understand at that. It's all very Game of Thrones like, you have a bigger picture, and when you do pull off the convoluted scheme, it feels so good. For the Thousand Sons themselves, I love that style, the Egyptian/Mesopotamian styling and the strange make up of their forces just appeal, it's so alien and distinct, and it's not something that other people seem to put as much effort into. Most people think sons are neat but never pluck up the spirit to commit and paint an actual force beyond the most rudimentary things. So there's an elitisim to it too in a way, where you're a bit special in your own mind when you have a sons force.
BUSSTISEBOOST HE GOT INTO T SONS AFTER WATCHING HARRY POTTRY AND GAY PORNOS! HAHA!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!! I WILL BUUUUUUURN THEM ALLLLL!!!!!!! OOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
Damn seeing this makes it harder for me to choose a Traitor Legion, since my heart belongs to the Dark Angels loyalist wise, I really like Alpha Legion, Death Guard and Thousand Sons....
I just got into 30k as Thousand Sons. How did you make the round shields on your Breachers (I haven’t watched this video yet if you commented on it there)?
The Outer Circle I notice that the shields are on Mark 4 Marines. What arms are the shield hands attached to? The only breachers FW seems to sell are Mk3s. Are the chainswords from Despoiler Marine kits?
Macca, There’s no reason you cant take an allied detachment if you just need the warlord to be a Psyker, since your TS praetor is already a psyker, and there is no requirement for your Mechanicum HQ to be a Psyker, the reverse situation you proposed WOULD stop you from taking a AD because your AD HQ is a compulsory in order to take the AD. did you get the rules backwards? I know everything being upside-down can be hard sometimes. If it is COMPULSORY HQ’s that need to be psykers, then yes, you were correct.
Reid Zalewski the warlord is in charge of the primary detachment. The Thousand Sons can't join a mechanicum Primary because the Warlord isn't going to be a psyker. All my HQ's are psykers, and the requirement should be that Thousand Sons detachments are led by a psyker, instead it's the word Warlord which screws it all up.
Since I filmed this, (like 4 hours ago??) I have since repainted all the bases. Yes, I'm too keen.
~Macca
What do you think about Epic 30k/40k , did you expand your epic titan army ?
I gave it away to our patreon subs.

I would love to give you a game but Down Under is too far away.
Excuses are like assholes, everyone has them XD
This is a fantastically painted army. Love themed armies for 30k - good luck with the tournament.

Thought so, I'd be nice to have some flexibility but it's really hard at 2500 to cover all bases and sill have scoring units.

I hate getting better at painting and seeing how bad my old stuff looks too! LOL
everytime mr circle says "they will die so fast its not even funny" i immedietly start laughing
I applaud a theme list, though not sure I would take one to a tournie.
Would you ever considering the converse and run a super broken 1k sons list? Lets be honest, guard of the crimson king can get a bit filthy
No, I personally don't subscribe to cheese.
That is a really nice and really well painted simple praevian conversion m8 fair play
How do you create the Master of the Forge’s conversion beamer? It looks AMAZING!
It's the 40k Mechanicum magos' beamer attached to a cut-down Heresy plastic heavy bolter from the Calth box.
Where did you get a hold of those sweet looking Servo-Automata? I'd like to use some for a 40K army I'm building and I'm not sure where to look.
They are actually from the Mechanicum range, they come with one of the FW Tech priests.
@@TheOuterCircle Oh thank you so much.
They do it so that the highlights on the top panel looks brighter in contrast to the dark at the top of the side panels. Almost exclusively used on vehicles. It's less realistic but more striking.
*The typhon is 7" s10 ap 1 not 10" s10 ap 2
Yeah total brain fade. It happens.
Amazing looking army. Beautiful work
A TOTAL ARMY OF HARRY POTTER LADY BOYS!
Hey Macca just wanted to ask have you made a Iskandar Khayon model for your Thousand sons?
LOOKS LIKE THE ENTIRE CAST OF HARRY POTTER! VERY COOL, DUDE!
what got you into the Thousand Sons?

HE GOT INTO T SONS AFTER WATCHING HARRY POTTRY AND GAY PORNOS! HAHA!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!! I WILL BUUUUUUURN THEM ALLLLL!!!!!!! OOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
The Outer Circle YOU LOVE HARRY POTTER'S LEGION!!! HAHAHAHA!!!! FURRY POWERRRRRRR!!!!!! SUCK IT, WIZZY WIZZARD!!!!
You know, Harry Potter wasn't even a thing when I got into Tzeentch. If anything, the wizard joined me.
Just as planned.
Ngl I'm gonna steal your mortis dreadnought w/ missile launcher idea for my Sons of Horus. They're gonna suck but they look too fucking cool.
They are from shapeways.
The vendor is Popgoesthemonkey on shapeways.com. his 1k sons designs are great.
The Outer Circle I notice that the shields are on Mark 4 Marines. What arms are the shield hands attached to? The only breachers FW seems to sell are Mk3s. Are the chainswords from Despoiler Marine kits?
They are boltgun arms, I just softly converted them.
Shit...those came out really well(fucking beautiful!) You do excellent work
That's the same amount of infantry in my 1500 point ZM list
I did the same thing with 40k thousand sons terminators as sekmet but I do run raptora causs I want to play Phosis T’kar and the second fellowship

The Outer Circle Ohhhh!!! I thought you were trying to join a mechanicum AD to the TS, not the other way round
the great debate easy of transport or what you need.
What paints did you use to get the candy effect please?
he has a video on his channel detailing that
Really good looking, man!
This is why i worldeaters.
No Tanks?
In this list, so far, no.
