I always have, and always will, use hiking boots. Since they're made to walk hundreds of miles in they're designed to be comfortable and long lasting (if you buy a good pair). They cost more but are worth it. Also, after badly spraining my ankle, I wouldn't play in anything else. If i had been wearing cleats I would have no doubt broken it were it not for the ankle support. And they've got the grip for woodsball or airball. AND they're waterproof. Truely excellent.
also, Mike If you love the Landsharks you will love the Nike Pythons. I had them for 3 years counting and they are awesome. Some exact cleat as Landsharks but for football and have a strap to secure and tighten the middle foot and laces. I paid $50 I think. Awesome awesome cleat.
i got jt mid top cleats for 25$ at my local shop and they are amazing the laces are covered for mud. great traction on all field types look cool leather and rubber on the toe when ur playing snake and you need it
ok, did you see at 3:53 how hard I cut up the field and dove into the dorito at a full sprint? You can't do that with a pair of Pro-Wings on. Did you see after that how fast I can run through the woods? You can't do that with a pair of Vans on "putting on old shoes" and trying to play paintball competitively is like putting flip flops on to play basketball in.
i use my golf and soccer shoes, my golf shoes have the soft cleats so its good. dont usually like wearing cleats in woodsball though.. any random boots are good
i play using soccer cleats, all i can get my hands on. no ankle support at all, looking at some new ones soon though. this video really helps narrow my search. thanks
lacrosse cleats are good too. they're good for making cuts and keeping really good traction. also, they are very light. football cleats can get kinda heavy.
Just a recommendation from me, but TRAIL Running Shoes work perfect for me IN ANY PLAYING CONDITION. TRAIL shoes are meant for a wide variety of surfaces. :D
i play with lacrosse cleats for speedball and if i'm playin woodsball i go with hiking boots cuz the fields i play on are pretty rough sometimes. they works pretty well
great vid, i am too using the Under Armor football cleats...great shoe for paintball, especially sprinting off the break, but i only use them for grass surface, i have a beat up pair of Nike Shox i use for indoors...
Hey Mike, thanks for the great video and advice! I have one question though-I have full intentions of playing the front, hopefully snake, so I want my cleats to make me as fast and as maneuverable as I can be, therefore I think I'm going to get the Nike Landshark Low instead of the Mid. What do you think about that decision?
Thanks for the recommendation on the Underarmour cleats for wide feet, Mike!! Have you tried the Sealskin socks, by chance? I've heard great things about them keeping your feet warm and dry. They were recommended to me\, i have no personal experience with them.
Hey mike, I've got JT Mid-top cleats, they have the reinforced toe but I've been hearing that the zipper has been coming undone quite a lot on them. Should I keep them?
You could. They work great outside iff your local field is an outside real grass terrain or real grass woodsball. But on dirt or artificial grass(turfs) they're really hard to get a good grip. Hope that helps. Draker73
have you ever heard of Rawlings Cleats or ever tested them? I can get them for £10 cheaper then the Land Sharks and I'm struggling to find any good info about the Rawlings Cleats.
I own landsharks. they work on turf and they are made for firm grounds. If there is soft ground use a pair with less teath. I played football, now I play rugby and paintball. Landsharks or old runers I use for astroturf. if the ground is hard I use landsharks. if the ground is soft. I have 6 studed cleats that dig in like crazy. for rugby I use my 6 studded because I hate how not snug the landsharks are and the less studs the better
Hmm, they calculated shipping for me. I absolutely love paintball gateway. Great prices and great customer service. It's not a scam site, otherwise Mike would have gone berserk on them
I wear soccer cleats for just the opposite reason he gave, I cant stand crap restricting my ankles, slows me down, check out the Nike Mercurial series, they start at under $50 and are some of the lightest most agressive cleats you can buy. And soccer cleats won't necessarily fall apart on you, my Nikes went through 3 seasons of highschool soccer before being "retired" to paintball and theyre still going stong after two years of it.
Well, since I play football, I've been using my Under Armour Lightweight Running back cleats. I think that land sharks arent that good. I wear metal spikes and I can change to astro turf by changing out spikes, they work in snow, brush, turf, grass, and even cement with rubber spikes(not for resale).
wow i ended up getting nike landsharks because they were the only nice looking cleats that Dicks actually had in a size 12 for $35. After watching this im happy i got them.
I live in california and most paintball fields are ALL dirt and im not sure what kind of cleats to get for that i dont want to use my land sharks cus its plastic
I hear military Vietnam era jungle boots and there awesome also you don't make a cut/sharp turn with the heel you make a turn on the ball of your foot so you don't destroy your knees and hip 3:04
i use the land sharks now i've worn them on the field about half a dozen times i got them at chicks sporting goods for 20 dollars since there going out business
this is true, but I own hk shredders, soccer cleats and baseball cleats. most of the time shredders are actually better for turf of flat ground, the have 0 ankle support so if you go and play walk-ons or less than perfect fields (like dirt airball fields) baseball or football cleats are ideal.
@wrestlemaniac202 Ya but good luck running in them. If your want boots for woodsball go with combat boots its good enought for the military why not woodsball you know
if its raining out and you dont want to clog your cleats just spray them with some nonstick cooking spray then the mud falls right off when you hit them against a tree!
i know somone is gonna kill me but i like using basketball shoes, i'm a slider, or if i am playing woodsball i use my laceup work boots, i know heavy but damn grippy on the rocks and loose leafs.
LOL what team? When that tank rolled through they fucking bailed on me. A wet washcloth doesn't get hung out to dry as bad as I got hung out to dry at Waynes World. I was pushing up hardcore, I took out 9 people, and all 40 people behind me ran like rabbits when that tank came through, and no one warned me Teaches me not to rely on pikers who play paintball once a year to cover me in a hearcore push LOL
oh well i personally like regular soccer cleats for outdoor play but i play soccer all the time and track cleats for indoor but hey thats me and Exalt is you
I always have, and always will, use hiking boots. Since they're made to walk hundreds of miles in they're designed to be comfortable and long lasting (if you buy a good pair). I asked this question so thanks Mike.
Help's alot. Gonna get some mid's as I found out playing woodsball why lows are bad first hand. PAINFULL!!!
In TechPB's Forums, in the "Online Deal Hunter", you can find landsharks for $20
w00t I ordered 3 pairs
also, Mike If you love the Landsharks you will love the Nike Pythons. I had them for 3 years counting and they are awesome. Some exact cleat as Landsharks but for football and have a strap to secure and tighten the middle foot and laces. I paid $50 I think. Awesome awesome cleat.

thanks
i have those cleats (both pairs) from football the landshark cleats also make great lineman cleats because they dont sag over time as much.
lacrosse cleats are good too. they're good for making cuts and keeping really good traction. also, they are very light. football cleats can get kinda heavy.
for reball turf fields,
i use wrestling shoes for super grip and they have ankle support
Just a recommendation from me, but TRAIL Running Shoes work perfect for me IN ANY PLAYING CONDITION. TRAIL shoes are meant for a wide variety of surfaces. :D
i play with lacrosse cleats for speedball and if i'm playin woodsball i go with hiking boots cuz the fields i play on are pretty rough sometimes. they works pretty well
Just picked mine up yesterday cant wait to try them out THX MIKE!
i like buying any cheap cleat and cutting the back half of the spikes of and it works really well in the snake
i like to use cross coutry/ long distance track shoes with blunted spikes. they help ALOT durig long scenario games
Deftones > * awesome video as always Mike! Thanks!
great vid, i am too using the Under Armor football cleats...great shoe for paintball, especially sprinting off the break, but i only use them for grass surface, i have a beat up pair of Nike Shox i use for indoors...

RUN MIKE, RUN!!!
lol he mowed through those woods xD
i agree with him i LOVE nike landsharks i used them in football and for paintball
I use puma soccer cleats. They are amazing comfortable and while not much ankle suport they give you awesome balance.
i just ordered mine(land shark mid) off eastbay. for 19.99$ with 7.98 S&H. thanks mike for the recommendation.
the nike land shark is great. i used a pair for football season. great shoes
the landsharks are what i use for football ill have to try them for paintball i think they would work great lots of grip
I like track cleats for speed ball, there light and u can replace the metal spikes but I do like the idea of football cleats more
Thanks for the recommendation on the Underarmour cleats for wide feet, Mike!! Have you tried the Sealskin socks, by chance? I've heard great things about them keeping your feet warm and dry. They were recommended to me\, i have no personal experience with them.

have you ever heard of Rawlings Cleats or ever tested them? I can get them for £10 cheaper then the Land Sharks and I'm struggling to find any good info about the Rawlings Cleats.
i play on indoor turf and i use some old nike running shoes. vintage waffle treads!
Just got me my Nike Land Sharks Mid and Wide for $40 at sports authority! Thanks Mike!!!
They grip great and save lots of money. Just make sure to get the plastic cleats.
Track Cleats for turf
Pumas Elites for dirt fields
Soccer Cleats grass
has always worked perfect for me
I got them and tried them out. Between them and a new, easier to use pack, my playing was instantly better. Even though I was playing mech.
Surprised you did not suggest the Exalt Cleats. You seem to like the company.
I just bought my Exalt Cleats.
i wear baseball cleats, they work on grass and dirt, really great, kinda expensive though
I own landsharks. they work on turf and they are made for firm grounds. If there is soft ground use a pair with less teath.

what are your thoughts on the exalt cleats? i know you like exalt, so i figured id ask.
Hmm, they calculated shipping for me. I absolutely love paintball gateway. Great prices and great customer service. It's not a scam site, otherwise Mike would have gone berserk on them
Im 5" 8" and wear a size 11, I use Nike Speed Strike. Would you reccommend that?
@Tauruspt2 wow, lol, how do you mean by the tissue tears? like the tissue of the muscles in your feet?
nice mask and thanks for the tips!
@videovader101 regarding baseball cleats, would it be ok to use metals spikes?
I wear soccer cleats for just the opposite reason he gave, I cant stand crap restricting my ankles, slows me down, check out the Nike Mercurial series, they start at under $50 and are some of the lightest most agressive cleats you can buy. And soccer cleats won't necessarily fall apart on you, my Nikes went through 3 seasons of highschool soccer before being "retired" to paintball and theyre still going stong after two years of it.
@billster7100 me too, I used my old 2007 Puma soccer shoes. Works just fine!!
i love using my sprint spikes for track.. extremely light.. easy to break to snake..
awsome vid great advice =D
btw what song is in the beginning =O?
i have land sharks for football but i never thought i should use football cleats
Well, since I play football, I've been using my Under Armour Lightweight Running back cleats. I think that land sharks arent that good. I wear metal spikes and I can change to astro turf by changing out spikes, they work in snow, brush, turf, grass, and even cement with rubber spikes(not for resale).
Steel toed boots for woodsball will help prevent getting those piggies hurt while being hit with paintballs
How well do those work? I'm considering them.
i use umbro running shoes. Cleats are not always so good, a few of them damage your knees and back
wow i ended up getting nike landsharks because they were the only nice looking cleats that Dicks actually had in a size 12 for $35. After watching this im happy i got them.
@videovader101 Well, I mostly play woodsball so the bunkers aren't the inflatable ones.

I like puma cells they are comfortable and have traction.
I use medal cleats and I'm a 6th grader baseball player for the plainveiw little legue
@donnyxtofu1 would the exalt cleats fit regular track spikes?
does the brace go in the shoe? idk wat that is but i may want it
i use track cleats for turf feilds but on grass feilds its best to use football cleats
in most tournies u cant have metal spikes... the field i play at doesnt allow them at all... soft tips are kewl.
They are really nice but are small, they fit me fine i think.
i use the land sharks now i've worn them on the field about half a dozen times i got them at chicks sporting goods for 20 dollars
since there going out business
Funny thing, I actually wear those cleets, and I was surprised when I heard Mike say he wore the same ones. Kinda funny actually.
Nike Blade III Sharks...best football cleats Ive ever owned
the best cleats for turf are soccer turf cleats. i know he says no soccer cleats but they are meant for running and are super comfortable.
i use socony track shoes for turf they work great
this is true, but I own hk shredders, soccer cleats and baseball cleats. most of the time shredders are actually better for turf of flat ground, the have 0 ankle support so if you go and play walk-ons or less than perfect fields (like dirt airball fields) baseball or football cleats are ideal.
@wrestlemaniac202 Ya but good luck running in them. If your want boots for woodsball go with combat boots its good enought for the military why not woodsball you know
baseball cleats are amazing
