Having an old, soft bristle toothbrush is also handy to go along with the spray bottle of water and microfiber for cleaning. It gets into come of the crevices on masks and markers a bit better, especially on grips. I starting keeping a large spray bottle in my stuff back in 2007, and I've since switched to a smaller one because it still holds enough water, and it takes up less space in the gear bag. I picked up a small spray bottle of Cat Crap lens cleaner, and it does an excellent job at cleaning and de-gunking lenses without being harsh (pretty natural and non-abrasive ingredients).
Funny, you put the tank thread protector on there back when I was a kid they didn’t have it and I actually had a tank that I used to go through O-rings every other time I put the tank on and off because the top flange was bent and used to pinch the O-ring
spray bottle with a bit of soap (to breakdown the oil/PEG) is TOTALLY UNDERRATED. You can literally just spray away all the paint then use the microfiber to dry.
I always used a mix of rubbing alcohol and water. Probably a 70% water 30% alcohol mix. It cleans the oily residue off and makes everything dry quicker.
Awesome list! I would add a tech mat(mouse mats work to), as some fields have gravel pits in the safe zone, or picnic tablets were you can drop down parts.
But dropping little screws in mud and gravel is half the fun of learning how to play paintball, it's like that and getting bunkered while fixing your gun.
If you're talking about "drop forwards" and "rails", I am personally very particular and odd in my need to get the ergonomics just right there. My particular preference could have to do with me being big on running and shooting at the same time (running and running), but I would recommend something like a "Shockteck Drop 1", a "Planet Eclipse Oops rail", or a "Custom Products (CP) micro drop" and I would turn one of those backwards.
Great video! We had pod swabs in the early 2000s in the Carolinas, but I have no idea where they came from. They werent near as nice as the one in your video though, more so just a really thick barrel swab that didnt bend in the middle. Edit: just noticed that youve uploaded a bunch of videos in the last few months! None of them show up in the "videos" tab, but I'm just now seeing them in the "home" tab
Now I feel old. I can remember when the first pod swabs (I just called them podgees) and ball haulers hit the market. Before the dedicated ball haulers were available, I remember taking empty bulk laundry detergent jugs and modifying them to do the job
Love this channel im thinking of starting airsoft and I don't know what mask should I buy between the virtue ascend and the e-flex, what do you think is best for a 23 circumference head ?
I lost a podhauler weeks ago in my house full of paint. I got to the field and it wasn't in my car. I searched everywhere and still no site. I'm assuming I left it on the front porch and somebody grabbed it 😢
I'D liked to have seen some kind of way to support your marker when you're off field. right now we just sit them on the table that we're at and its ALWAYS in the way or sideways or you're trying to hold it awkwardly while trying to clean it or fill the hopper. Would've been nice to see some options that remedy this bs.. lol...
For sure, I probably should have included gun stands. Check on Paintball DNA they have a few great options, there HK Army folding stand is also a great option.
Pod swab is mainly for the field not home. Speedball arena, the teams pods are on the ground, there's dirt inside, 5 - 10 mins to gear up before the next round. What do? Pod swab the dirt out of 20+ pods and fill them back up. No time to rinse and dry on the field.
Anyone looking to ball on a budget paintball gear bag are expensive, motocross gear bags are very cheap in comparison. Highly recommend going that route
@@PaintballRuinedMyLife $35 for my giant motorcross gear bag from revzilla still going strong after 3 years and holds 3 complete setups along with all my soft goods !
Thanks! tbh I've never found a microfibre that cleaned properly, they always streaked. My best advice is to take lens cleaner and a ton of paper towels, micro fibre cant beat a solid paper towel Also batteries. Better to have 'em and not need em
try and keep at least two microfibers on hand, one that you wipe all the crud off with and one clean one you go over after to try and get the rest and polish out. Maybe three if you want to throw one in that you spray with water before you dry/polish it off with the third. I haven't had any problems just grabbing a handful of cheap microfibers though, one for the initial wipe and cycling through the clean ones after that then just throwing them all in the wash when I get home with the rest of my gear. Also I wouldn't spray directly onto the mask to avoid getting moisture in/on your lenses gasket, always spray the cloth you are going to wipe with just like if you were cleaning a TV or monitor.
The one thing I disagree with is the mask hard case. That one is a nice to have, but a plain mask bag goes really far. My suggestion is a dedicated tank case instead. Thought they were silly and used improvised solutions long after they came out; now I won't go back. You Do Not want your tank banging around in your bag unprotected; the tank cases work awesome and basically add zero extra volume to your bag.
There not too hard, pretty easy to open by just pushing your fingers through the bag. They used to do ziplocks, but most people just end up throwing the bags away.
You feel completely ridiculous carrying a giant pod swab around in your bag until suddenly you don't. Minutes of swearing under your breath as you half-ass clean a pod out is suddenly instead seconds and a gleaming pod.
wake up babe new PRML video just dropped!!!
As someone who is coming back after 10 years, I needed all these reminders. Thank you!
You bet, have fun!

Thanks man I’m going to play paintball this month and this really helped because I’ve never played
REMEMBER TO HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!
Glad I could help. 👍

I just put a couple small drops of dish soap in the spray bottle, and good to go.
For sure a bit of soap helps clean up the funk

I'm using your recipe with excellent results.
I just press really hard and make long wipes.

For sure! I actually had that and orings picks but edited it out.
That's a good one. I have an old baby changing pad for mine, lol. The fluffy fibers keep things from rolling or bouncing off.
But dropping little screws in mud and gravel is half the fun of learning how to play paintball, it's like that and getting bunkered while fixing your gun.
Basically Exalt. I have a lot of their gear (barrel maid, elbow pads, etc).
Yep, they've been making great accessories for a long time.
This might be the best paintball review channel on the planet.
Much love 🙏
Such a good video Brad! Some much valuable info here
Thanks dude!
Hey matt or brad what would you guys recommend as in a tank , tank holder , and tank hose for a empire mini gs

There are still insane people doing the detergent jugs 🤣
Exalt makes good stuff
The iFixit kit I got for my job works so well as a tool kit for paintball.
Sick transition for the ad. I see you B-rad!
😘
The Amazon fill nipple covers are really flimsy and cheap I highly recommend the exalt one it's like $10 and works really good
It’s a good day when you upload
Thanks for the tips 👍🏼
No problem 👍
i also reccomend squirrel sack or hydra pit bag to clean a bag with a few broken balls inside
For sure, such easy way to clean paint.

I'm using as a marker case, laptop cases, the neoprene ones.
I bet it works perfect. 👍
@@PaintballRuinedMyLife yes, it works perfectly, plus the space it saves me is unbelievable, I use them also for my spires.
Great guide for beginners and mid too.
I use a Milwaukee packout 11 compartment box for my tool kit. Then again, I shoot cockers so it’s kind of required.
Great list.

Good, I literally have all of that in my gear bag already 😅
No more stuff to buy 😅
Great list👍🏼also need to add barrel sleeve/condom
O rings are an essential 4 me cause I’m dumb and use an ion smart parts
Great Video again.
Thanks again!
1:15 literally just hose the pod down. some water inside, swish swish, air dry. done.

@PRML Where did you get the small red tub of grease?
We used to buy grease and repackage it in the red jars. Still have one left.
I always shocked at my local field nobody use spray bottle and then everyone wants to borrow mine. I also carry one of shop towels rolls too
sounds about right 😂
Ball hauler plus silica. You’re welcome

Coming back to the field after +10 years. Time to dust off the tribal and Excalibur.
Ohhh the Tribal
I’ve had a podgy for over 20 years.

Why they make bags hard to get into tho?
There not too hard, pretty easy to open by just pushing your fingers through the bag. They used to do ziplocks, but most people just end up throwing the bags away.
Definitely a mask case. Spend the $30 or $40. Worth every penny.
Isopropyl alcohol and water diluted
