That tight and its a bugger to clean. And if it gets bunged up with moss the valley will reduce in its eficiency. Much prefer seeing a gap down the valley.

On a closed valley it’s meant to be tight🤦🏼‍♂️ check the manufacturers installation instructions, you’ll see

@@jhenson3953 I understand that. But as those who go back to maintain it can cause so many hidden problems. The build up of dirt washed off the roof isn’t seen. It may take that little bit longer say than an open. But to think it doesn’t happen would be a mistake.

Doesn't need it. I'd usually batten butt up to the valley. Seen other roofers go on top of the valley which u shouldn't do. Some roofer do it like him which is fine 🙂

You make a template tile with the nibs missing. Lay it where it needs to be. Mark the side of the template tile where the top of the one next to it is. Then lay your template on a new tile. Mark the angle . Cut . And place down.
    Ta da
    Same for dormer sides😊

We used to frame in the pattern so the peg tiles could be nailed off twice up the valleys and hips, how things have changed, cutting corners, you wanna do a old school roofer against a new aged roofer lol

These tiles will stay on for decades. Once the roof is finished the whole thing pintches together. We've got buildings in England that are hundreds of years old and are still keeping water out with old peg tiles and wooden pegs. We have buildings older than America.
