  • I know everyone was clamoring for another sharing of Sierra and her unique jingle-jangle sound. Well, when I was in New Orleans, I went to a hazy late night old-time show. Accordions blared on a stage lit only by bonfire and shrouded by a giant treehouse, like something out a childhood fairy tale. People danced and whirled, drank and laughed.
None other than Sierra herself blessed my eyes, unchanged since i'd seen her last, enjoying the fire, company and music. Trying to track her down was always a failing effort, so finding her in the wild was always one of those things you're both surprised and not surprised by at the same time. It's just the way of things.
She told me she'd soon be in Nashville, and was surprised to hear so many wanted to hear more. She said of course we'd make another. Though she wasn't there when she said she'd be, she showed up sometime. Sometime being as good a time as any, we made this recording one rainy afternoon with Joseph Faison IV on guitar.

Spotify doesn't pay artists enough to live on. She is working class - not rich, so the songs on bandcamp are what she has been able to record thus far. Thank you for listening!

I agree that she is a incredibly gifted and powerful performer. I've seen her live 3 times and each time I've seen her has been better than the time before.
But her album is truly remarkable too. So much variety and musicianship and partnerships with some really big names and talented musicians. The album should/ probably will take her even higher.
West Virginia Waltz, Silver Dollar and Far Across the Sea were particularly amazing recordings. All good live too, but I think these in particular show she can prove something in the recording studio too.
Go see her now while her tickets are still 20 bucks!

So, does that mean the correct answer is pop commercialism, or is it pop commercialism that makes everything else out to be hipster, creating a whole cycle of criticism and accusation? The way you are in all of my mine
You've got a love so fine
I wish that I could make you mine
Won't you sit down, you know I love you honey
    And you look so tired
I know it's hard how we're thrown into this life
And then one day we must die
    [Chorus]
But that river will flow on
Even after we're all long gone
Yes, that river will flow on
Won't you take me with you before I'm one
    [Verse 2]
Then I walk into the room and there you sit
There you sit and you're so alone and quiet
Well I can't help but stare
Oh I love you, and it just ain't fair
    [Chorus]

Her writing skills mirror Dolly’s in bringing her experiences out in her songs. Please keep any and all guitar teachers away from her. Her picking is absolutely perfect the way it is.
