1. Iron Man He’s just too much fun! 2. Black Widow Love controlling hitting for 1 a bunch of times! 3. Ms. Marvel Combos galore! 4. Wasp Giant and Tiny are just a ton of fun. 5. Captain America Love Cap and his shield tosses.
Great video! I recently got Ant Man and agree that he's great fun to flip between forms. Ms Marvel is another favourite of mine. Lastly, I love Thor even though I find him really hard to do well with and regularly lose.
My most fun is Ms. Marvel. Boosting and recurring events while managing flipping down to alter ego to take advantage of her Personas is a fun intricate puzzle, and you always feel like you're doing a lot with her. She's followed closely by Ant-Man and Quicksilver.
I have not played this game much, but I want to play Black Panther the most. It's a strength in numbers deck. Play lots of cheap avengers and upgrades to get down to a 22 card deck. Play SIN every round and 2-3 wakanda forever every round.
I just started playing Ant-Man today and really like him. Not sure if it’s because it’s fresh and new but it’s cool how you can switch among the various forms and how your decision is dependent on which form your current cards require to offer additional bonuses. I also like Black Widow as she’s so tactical and her actions feel like quick short bursts.
Yeah those are some of the same reasons I enjoy Ant-Man as well! So many options and all that decision-making is really fun. Thanks for watching! - Dylann
Alright....... 2 more videos and I WILL BUY CHAMPIONS. Stay TUNED. Also do you think that there is room for Marvel Legendary AND Champions in a collection? Deciding between the two.
I haven't played Marvel Legendary so I'm a bit biased, but I will say that Marvel Champions is probably easier to break into since it's only a bit over a year old so there's not too much catching up to do and it's not too overwhelming. Not that you need to try and get everything, you can still just focus on additional hero packs and scenario packs that interest you after the core set. I feel like if you had both, you'd eventually mostly play just 1, depending on which you prefer, and probably only want to buy new content for that one. When we can meet up again, we'll play a round and it will be all the convincing you need! -Dylann
I have both in my collection and enjoy both. In my opinion Marvel Champions feels more like you are playing an individual hero with all their strengths and weaknesses (even though you may have multiple heroes) and legendary feels a bit more like a team and less intimate with each hero. I love both games but if I could only pick one I would pick champions.
I’ve played and at one point owned both. Champions for me is the superior Marvel card game because you feel like you’re actually playing as the hero in Champions... In Legendary you’re just recruiting heroes and it doesn’t have the same joy plus Legendary is semi cooperative so you are competing with your friends.
Just recently picked up the game. I have played Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Spider Man, Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor. Out of those 6, my favorite is either Spider Man or Captain Marvel. I have Scarlet Witch, ant man, wasp, quicksilver, dr strange, and green goblin on the way. Excited to give them a try
So happy to hear you've picked it up and are joining this community, Nathan! Hope to see you around the comments of our videos and curious to hear how you enjoy all the heroes as you play them. -Dylann
Thanks for the video. As someone relatively new to the game, it can be daunting knowing what to get beyond the bae game, so guidance like this really helps. I also appreciate your explanation as to why you like playing that hero, which cards, favorite aspect, etc. Subscribed!
Quicksilver just keeps impressing me more and more each time I play him. It's tons of fun and feels great to play and especially to execute successfully. Thanks for watching!
My secret goal is to get as many people into Marvel Champions as I can so I can have more discussions about it and find new people to play with! So I'm glad to hear it! -Dylann
I really enjoy Captain Marvel (leadership), Captain America (any aspect, but protection is my preferred one) and Ms. Marvel (aggression). Ms. Marvel constantly flip-flopping between identities is just like in her comics. She is constantly juggling her responsibilities with her family & friends and her responsibilities as a superhero. I just received Wasp, Ant-Man, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch last week. Can wait to try them all out. Scarlet Witch looks super chaotic and fun.
Great picks! Ive played a ton of Scarlet Witch since receiving her and chaotic is definitely the best way to describe her. Which, thematically, is bang on obviously. Thanks for checking out the video! -Dylann
My top 5 5. Captain Marvel - Aggression 4. Captain America - Leadership 3. Ant Man - Justice 2. Spider Woman - Aggression/Justice 1. Quicksilver- Protection There are so many great print and play heroes that aren't under or overpowered and use mechanics very much in the style of the character. 4 of us played as the TMNT against the wrecking crew last night and had a blast.
I love that there's such a vibrant and rabid fan base, to the point where there are so many custom heroes, villains and cards to dabble with and try out. I haven't tried any of them myself yet, but I definitely look forward to at some point! - Dylann
Just started playing Marvel Champions as my first LCG. I am loving it so far. This was SO helpful. Easy sub. Excuse me as I go to watch like all your vids now thanks bye
The Hulk is probably my most fun character. Throw him in a cheap cost aggression deck and you’re good to go. Also, I’d love for you to make videos reviewing each hero. That would be awesome :)
I'm so glad I'm giving this card game another try. As soon as I got the damage dials together, I immediately played against Rhino as Spider-Man. Eben though I probably didn't play exactly the right way (still some what confused on the encounter deck), I was able to beat him. I also picked up Cap, Venom and Green Goblin. Cannot wait for my collection to get stupidly huge lol
Ant-Man Quicksilver Spiderman Spiderwoman Captain America I'll also add, that my favorite way to play Ant-Man is Protection. With Unflappable he doesn't need to worry about that 4 hand size and he pretty much never has to flip down to Alter-Ego.
My top 5: 1. Ant-Man - for the same reasons you describe Dylann. I love the strategy of the three forms. I run him with a standard Leadership deck. 2. Spidey - not a huge fan of the comics, although I love the initial MM run (hoping for a Miles-Spidey hero soon). He combos well with Justice. I love playing thematic decks and there are lots of Spidey Justice cards (even if that doesn't always make best use of the card pool - its meant to be fun after all). 3. She-Hulk - I love how she has both thwart and attack options. She links perfectly into Justice and she's fun to play, thwarting the villain, while my friend smashes everyone with a Hulk-Aggression deck. 4. Thor - doesn't seem to get a lot of love. I don't often play Aggression, but when I do, I play with Thor. I just love swinging that hammer! 5. Honestly there are a bunch of heroes I've enjoyed playing once or twice - Cap, Ms Marvel, Quicksilver - that make a fifth hero a tricky choice. Really glad I got recommended your channel. Looking forward to watching some more. Dylann, what would you say your favourite aspect is? Maybe another video to talk us through what you like about each?
Thanks a lot for the detailed comment and all the insight! And great picks too! My current favourite aspect, I think, is Aggression. It's the one I enjoy playing the most consistently. However, I've really been enjoying Protection these days too and trying to find interesting ways to make it work with more heroes! And great video idea!
@@AllYouCanBoard Interesting! Aggression is fun! I think I've always found Justice to be nuanced without being fiddly, so plenty of fun. I love the selection of allies available to Justice too (Spidey, Daredevil, JJ - even if they are pricey). I've not played with Protection much at all. I always seemed to be less effective at making an engine with the available card pool. I'll have to revisit it. I've seen some love for Quicksilver/Protection decks doing the rounds.
For now my top 5 are: -Black Widow -Captain america -Quicksilver -Spider-Woman -Ms. Marvel but im guessing that will change when the guardians of the galaxy are released!
Doctor Strange if I want to feel like the Sorceror Supreme. Spider Woman and Ms Marvel if I want a deckbuilding puzzle. I think Star Lord with his 3 resource exchange for an encounter card and Gamora with her 6 out-of-aspect cards are going to scratch that deckbuilding itch as well. Black Widow might be #1 if I could find a deck where the games didn't take so long.
Yeah, I'm excited for Gamora for the same reason. I think it'll be great to have a new hero that introduces new deckbuilding opportunities and puzzles to solve. Thanks for watching! - Dylann
Great list! I think it's a testament to the game that while my list might look slightly different, I can't disagree with your choices either! There are really only a couple heroes I feel kind of "meh" about playing. I'd happily play any of the rest!
It really is. There aren't any heroes in the game currently that I would have a bad time playing, just one or two I also feel meh on. But this game is just plain FUN and certain heroes amplify that feeling a bit more depending on your personal playstyle. Thanks for watching!
It’s interesting that most of these picks are newer heroes. None from the core set. I think from a design perspective Caleb and Boggs really got to stretch out towards the end of cycle 1(Hulk and Doctor Strange). From there it’s just been crazy mechanics, some game breaking(but that’s totally ok), and interesting card choices for both hero cards, aspect cards, and even basic cards. A lot of the protection cards in the quicksilver deck are really good.
Iron Man was my number 3 which is from the core set! I really like Iron Man, find him very fun to play. Captain America was also the first hero released after the core set I believe. But yeah, the other 3 are much newer, I've really enjoyed some of the latest design directions they've taken. Thanks for watching! -Dylann
My Top 5: 5. Hulk 4. Iron Man 3. Hulka 2. SpiderWoman 1. Dr. Strange Here in Spain we don't have the new hero packs yet😪😪 I'm really looking forward to playing with the Scarlet Witch, I think she is going to be very powerful.
I think if Scarlet Witch had arrived on time she’d have a good chance of making this list. :) My top 5: 5. Spider-Man 4. Ms. Marvel 3. Captain America 2. Black Widow 1. Antman

Our playstyles must be so different. Two of yours would be in my bottom 5, and only one in my top 5. My top 5 (1-5): Ms Marvel, Black Widow, Ant-Man, Captain Marvel and Dr Strange
Interesting! That's what makes this game so great though, differing playstyles and preferences, but all valid! I'm guessing Wasp would be in your bottom 5? I know a lot of people don't like her as much. Which other one?
@@AllYouCanBoard nope. Not had chance to play Wasp enough yet to form an opinion, but she looks like she's got a bit of what I like. No, iron Man and Cap are in my bottom 5, along with black panther, she hulk and hulk (although I have found a deck recently for hulk I enjoy a bit more than others, so he might switch out if Wasp or Scarlet Witch or one of the guardians proves to be dull (Wanda is looking most likely atm)
I’m limited in my favorites due to the fact I play solo 99% of the time. The more well rounded character are certainly more successful in solo. Dr strange will always be the powerful choice. Spider woman for deck building and her ally capt. marvel. Ant man has also become a favorite mostly using basic cards with a little aggression.
Great picks! Dr. Strange nearly made this list and might in the future. I enjoy him a lot. Spider-Woman is the most enjoyable deckbuilding hero for me, but not quite in the top list of most fun to play. Still great though. Thanks for watching!
