I love that you are using time stamps; it gives the video a more organized feel 👍🏽! Also, I love that you’re doing more book review videos; these are a lot of fun 😃! I’ve read “The Anthropocene Reviewed” and “Tokyo Ever After”, and they were amazing 😄👍🏽!
I think the perfect book for you would be We can be heroes by Kyrie McCauley. It's devastating and beautiful and has friendship and grief at its core. It's about two "kind of" freinds putting away their differences to revenge the death of their mutual best friend, who was killed by a school shooting. The twist is that the mutual friend is actually a ghost and they can speak to her.
Jesse you have to read The Dead Zone by Stephen King! The main character sees people’s futures and pasts after touching them, and it sounds similar The Cost of Knowing :)
I only really watch Jesse and Jack Edwards. Because I enjoy their videos a lot, I haven’t really checked out other youtubers content, so idk if I would like them or not.
I have to say I disagree with you. I think Jesse in an interesting and fun creator but there are many others . Chandler Ainsley gabbyreads (I love all her Taylor Swift content) Katie Colson Read with Cindy Books and Lala ( I have the same name as her )
So glad you said that about not so pure and simple because I recently got that book! And adding Tokyo ever after to my tbr because I’ve seen so many pleasantly surprised reviews lately. The Anthropocene reviewed is on my tbr as well! Even if I have struggled with John green fiction in the past.
I recently read This Is Not The Jess Show and I wanted to share my thoughts being I first heard about it on your channel. I really enjoyed it, I thought it was fun. I felt that some of the characters were underexplored but still interesting, the twists were pretty obvious and the ending felt a little disappointing but overall it was fun and a fast read too.
Why is it we always have more books on the TBR than we have time?? If some one were to ask if I like murder mysteries, my answer would be "NO." However, every time I read one I get really invested in it. The latest is "The Hive" by Gregg Olsen. It's really a good read, and if you're looking for something different, I recommend it.
Jesse, I think you’d like a series called Ascendance of a Bookworm. It’s a light novel series and also has a manga and a show! My friend introduced it to me and it’s my new favorite.
The Cost of Knowing is a trip. Tokyo Everafter was mah for me. Sorry to thoughs who love it, it just wasn't for me The Ones We Are Meant to Find was confusing to me, too.
I felt the same way about The Ones We're meant to find. I was confused for a lot of the book and I only liked one of the perspectives in the story. I really want to read Tokyo Ever After!!!!❤❤❤
Gideon the Ninth put me in a skeleton mood. I recognise it is a weird thing to say, but it also did. I read it earlier this month, and it took me a while to get into it. Even though from the beginning I saw it had so many strengths, especially with the world building, and there was intrigue but I didn't actually get into it until part 4, which was like the second last part. But there was almost a manic energy to it which I really enjoyed, and since finishing this book I want the sequel, but I haven't got it yet, but I also want skeletons and necromancy and resurrection, which I am sad to say isn't in many of my books. I have finally sat down to reread the bone witch, because I read it and loved it and just never read the sequel which I brought, so I am rereading the first to read the second. I also decided after reading Gideon the Ninth that I will make a death section on my bookshelf including my nonfiction on death, and my fiction books involving ghosts and spirits, resurrection, necromancy, afterlives, and reapers! Also a few poetry collections I have (Japanese Death Poems edited by Yoel Hoffman, and Tea with Death by Abigail Wildes). I've been wanting to do this for a while but I didn't know where on my shelf to put it, and I was trying to work out what kind of books I would include. I now know.
I felt similarly about The Ones We're Meant to Find. I was so excited about that read, but all the sciency stuff left me so confused. I was also really bummed because I kept hearing about the big plot twist only for it to be what I jokingly guessed about like two pages into the book (without spoiling, I guessed the basic idea of the twist, although not the context and explanation of how and why the twist existed).
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who didn’t understand The Ones We’re Meant to Find I thought maybe I was just dumb. It was so confusing and too much info for me to stay invested. I gave it a 2.5 as well
Followed the link but so bummed to see likewise isnt available in my country :( awesome video though! Every time I watch one of your videos, it instantly brightens up my day :)
I'm currently reading The Inheritance Games and omg I'm so invested in it. I love it so far. Any recommendations similar to this book? Btw nice book reviews as always🤗🤗
I kind of liked The Ones We're Meant to Find. It wasn't a 5 star read but enjoyable. I read The Inheritance Games recently and LOVED that one. I kind of think it's like an adult version of The Westing Game.
Reading things by touching them - that immediatly reminded me of the Mirror Visitor by Christelle Dabos. The story was so amazing that I read the four volumes of the series in next to no time although I' m more often than not a person who struggles with finishing serieses. (The third volume of the original Grisha Verse is still waiting on the shelf, next to the last volumes of the Throne of Glass series and the Angel Fall series... But at least I know I'm in good company...😉)
Great Video Jesse I’m currently reading The Lunar Chronicles Series and I’m on book 4 Winter and I Absolutely Love This Series Marissa Meyer is my new favorite author I’m so glad I finally started this series it’s so good 📚😊 And I see that you also have the series too so I’m betting you enjoyed it as well. Have a Wonderful Day tomorrow Goodnight and Take Care
I’m currently TRYING to read some spoopy books. I started Pet Sematary and I liked it, but I’ve had no desire to pick it up again. This dang depression is killin me, I just wanna be transported to magical worlds :(
Yeah Tokyo Ever After is a guard romance not enemies to lovers 😂 But it was still a fantastic read for me. I grew up with Princess Diaries and I don't think I'll ever get over those kinds of stories 🤩
i actually really love this style of review - i can't stay engaged on long book reviews, so rapid fire ones are a big big yes for me!
Same!
Same. Don't really watch Wrap ups, only the ones from Jesse, because it's so quick
Agreed
Whenever I see you... I automatically smile, not in a romantic way but like I have seen my best friend after a long time way... I love u

Love your videos Jesse. My kitten just passed away this morning and I was having a rough day. This video just made it better.
I’m so sorry to hear that! Sending you lots of positive thoughts. Hang in there 🖤
I finished The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka… it’s kinda trippy haha
I was fortunate enough to read it in the original German, "Die Verwandlung." Yes trippy! But an excellent read. LOL
@@ChasingForever oh wow! I can only imagine how much more authentic the experience must’ve been to read it in the original form! Kudos!

I am glad I am not the only one that struggled with “the ones we’re ment to find” I dnf day it 50 pages in to return to later to have another go.
What do you need to fix a crappy day? Jesse's videos.

Really want to read the first one.

Great video!
Jessie is the best! I adore this boo boo !
🖤🖤🖤
Awesome video 🙂
Hey Jesse! What is your favorite book in the Peculiar Children series?
The Cost Of Knowing reminds me of Glory O'Brien's History Of The Future.
Evertime I see a Likewise ad, I cry a little inside because it's not available in my country 😢

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who didn’t understand The Ones We’re Meant to Find I thought maybe I was just dumb. It was so confusing and too much info for me to stay invested. I gave it a 2.5 as well

I recommend White Oleander by Janet Fitch for you
