I agree with Shannon Sharpe, if MJ could do what Krause did, MJ had 15 years to put together a team between Washington & Charlotte. How many championships did he win?
There's a saying in basketball: "You're only as good as your last shot." Jerry Krause's last shot was blowing up the Bulls after 3 straight titles for no other reason than his ego.
Lol jordan is the most awful owner and gm ever 😂😂😂😂......he literally destroyed the wizards and hornets/bobcat with his awful decisions for decades and still counting lol.😂😂
Stephen A is the only out of town person who has a decent take on this subject. We all agree, you don’t boo the man at the ceremony with his wife there. That’s was bad and I feel awful for his widow. But the amount of out-of-town stupid I’ve been hearing this week from people who feel like they can lecture Bulls fans on the history of what happened because they watched the Last Dance is comical. Stephen A is right. Krause wanted to rebuild after 98. He told Phil you can go 82-0, I don’t care. But what everyone is forgetting is that Krause wanted to break up the team after 1997. He wanted to trade Pippen to Boston for those two lottery picks the Cs had. Krause was so desperate to rebuild and prove he could build a contender without Jordan. Yet in the 5 years Krause was still running the team after they were broken up, he couldn’t even get the Bulls back to the playoffs. And it took John Paxson, who replaced Krause, another 2 years to get them there. The only thing I agree with Russo on is Reinsdorf. He was the owner and could override any decision by Krause, but he didn’t. He let Krause be his human shield. It was the same thing in the Last Dance. Krause got a lot of criticism, and rightfully so, but Reinsdorf kinda got to skate by, which he shouldn’t have. Reinsdorf is one of the worst owners in sports.
We don't care what you think. Reinsdorf knows the deal. Jordan & Pippen don't F with each other anymore. And we all hated Mr. I don't care if the team goes 82-0 Krause. It's our city & our team & this is the way we handled it. Period!

And yet, when they are rightfully called out, all you Bulls fans throw around excuses saying “He broke the team up! They could have won more!” or “We have a right to boo who we want”. @romanramirez7847 If celebrating the team was so important, why did they take 26 years to make the ring of honor? It was a cheap money grab by Reinsdorf and everyone sees it as that. If you're only issue is that the sanctity of the ring of honor was sullied, then you are truly on your own in a fantasy world of your own making.
@@fuckfuckfuckshit781 You completely missed the point of what I was saying. I’m only rightfully calling out people for booing a man who’s passed on, and is not around to defend himself. I know it was pretty much a cash grab, but that still does not excuse the fans actions.
The Bulls were on their last legs anyways. They barely got passed Indiana in the ECF in 1998. Krause knew he had to rebuild and do it fast. That’s why he tried to trade Pippen for McGrady and Toronto’s 1st round pick which would’ve been Carter. MJ vetoed that trade.
Mad Dog is delusional. They can’t just pretend that Scotty and MJ don’t have major beef. They want nothing to do with each other, including sharing the same stage. The camaraderie is dead, and it’s unfortunate and sad
The whole Kraus thing is silly because the GM does what the OWNER wants!!! The OWNER didn’t want to keep paying which is beyond RIDICULOUS considering how much he was making off Jordan’s back!!!
I'm a life long Bulls fan, and I witnessed the 90's era. I do not blame MJ or Pippen for not showing up (their personal beef is a different story for a different thread). Ultimately, Chicago does not need a "Ring of Honor," primarily because they already have enough accolades and the Ring of Honor is essentially a gimmick. Also, the Chicago Bulls fans were not boo'ing Mrs. Krause, they were boo'ing the memory of Jerry as a GM. The only GREAT move Jerry made (in my opinion) was drafting MJ. The Bulls never won a chip before or after MJ played for the team. Yes, Jerry was a decent GM, but pushing out MJ and Phil Jackson before the dynasty was finished is basically unforgivable (as it pertains to sports). I don't know if the Bulls could have won more chips if MJ didn't retire the second time, but we at least wanted to see...Some people are taking this way too personal, it's about the team not the person. I think the media is hyping it up for content as well. Hopefully this news story will eventually fade away with the rest of the largely irrelevant noise of sports media.
@@xaviervega468 Yes, you are correct, Krause wasn't the GM when MJ was drafted, but he was an influential team scout, and made GM the following year. My original post was made immediately after watching the video, I wrote from memory, which is often incorrect. The sentiment of my post remains the same...Bulls fans don't like Krause because of how he contributed to MJ's second retirement from basketball. It's not about his wife, it's about the team.
👏👏"everything" was on point except the krause booing. i guess it takes a bit of understanding and morality on the part of the fans to know a person's widow would feel bad. i mean they can harbor the hate outside of a ceremony. but that would never happen if the league shared your viewpoint of how the ring of honor is just a gimmick.
Krause had absolutely nothing to do with MJ's being drafted. Krause was a scout for the White Sox the year Jordan was drafted. The Bulls were purchased by Reinsdorf a year after Jordan was drafted. If you closely examine Krause's record as GM, he likely would have whiffed on the MJ pick.
@@fuckfuckfuckshit781 I understand where you are coming from, but unless you worked for the Bulls or were a part of the organization back in 1984, I don't get how you are so confident about Krause's work as a scout. He was both a baseball and basketball scout. He was also a scout for the Bulls. I don't know if he was involved in scouting MJ, and I really don't care. It's irrelevant to my main point. Bulls fans don't like the memory of Krause as a GM,. Thanks for the comment, have a great day.
Thank you somebody finally said. It wasn't about what Krause put together to get 6 championships. it's about what he did to the city by not allowing that team to defend that 6th championship because of his own ego. That was totally F'd up. So I'm not mad at the city booing Jerry Krause his wife just got caught in the crossfire of it. Not her fault. It was his doing. Jerry Reinsdorf deserves some of that smoke as well because he allowed it. He's the boss, he could've easily told Krause "What not bringing Phil back? Are you crazy? F outta here we ain't breaking this up we just won our 6th title and we are selling tickets like hotcakes and our merch sales are out the roof. You better not F this bag up, or else you're outta here".

Stephen is right about Krause blowing up the dynasty. The Bulls were 62-20, 26-12 without Pippen in the 98 season. Jordan was MVP and Finals MVP. All the players wanted to stay, and Krause still blew it up.
Major injuries to Derrick Rose and Jay Williams (career-ending) and Eddy Curry not panning out despite obvious potential. Kukoc bailing out after being given the keys to a rebuilding franchise (Krause had high hopes for him).
First of all, why, after 25 years, you are putting in your ring of honor your best franchise player? Plus this is not the best franchise player, this is michael jordan. He should have been there 2 seconds after he retired. I am not going to that ceremony. It's 25 years too late

oh he gets credit for putting it together but he also gets credit for breaking it up a year or two too early. @@Gypsywasteland
@@Gypsywastelandi agree and I also think his wife has no reason being booed she had nothing to do with it 🤦🏽♂️
No way in hell the bulls was beating the spurs in 1999, stop it 😂
@@DemonFist94 The fans weren't booing Jerry Krause's wife. They were booing Jerry Krause himself. She happened to be the representative for him. The boos started even before they showed her face. So don't say that they booed her.
I agree with Shannon Sharpe, if MJ could do what Krause did, MJ had 15 years to put together a team between Washington & Charlotte.
How many championships did he win?
Salute to mad dog for keeping it 💯
If he was keeping it 💯 he would tell you tge real reason he wants them there. They wanted to see mj and scottie go at it
There's a saying in basketball: "You're only as good as your last shot." Jerry Krause's last shot was blowing up the Bulls after 3 straight titles for no other reason than his ego.
So Jordan is only a good as he was on the Wizards according to this "saying" that no one says
What does that say about Jordan being the Hornets' owner?
Lol jordan is the most awful owner and gm ever 😂😂😂😂......he literally destroyed the wizards and hornets/bobcat with his awful decisions for decades and still counting lol.😂😂
Keep it a saying because you aren't saying much. You got to be stupid to think someone's last shot defines them. Petty af
So they blew up the team without running it by the goat??
Agree on everything except for one thing: we have to boo louder now so Krause can hear us from hell.
Bulls shoulda had MJ’s son and Pippen’s ex wife honor them at the Ring of Honor if them two weren’t gonna show up
Stephen A. Smith shut up !!!
Bro need to relax his blood pressure probably high as hell
stephen a would defend Jordan if he killed him
Even his spirt would come back and say Jordan didn’t mean to do that.
We don't care what you think. Reinsdorf knows the deal. Jordan & Pippen don't F with each other anymore. And we all hated Mr. I don't care if the team goes 82-0 Krause. It's our city & our team & this is the way we handled it. Period!
All you Bulls fans making excuses. The dynasty was broken up 26 years ago, and you all are still whining about it. Let it go. At the end of the day, you won 6 championships and became arguably the greatest team of all time. But you all want to focus on the negatives and boo a man who can no longer defend himself because he’s passed on.
@@romanramirez7847exactly. Bulls fans are more mad about not winning a 7th championship which wasn’t a guarantee, than being happy for winning 6 championships.
I don't get how stating MJ only wanting to stay and play if Phil stayed is giving "Jordan a pass" 🤣
Do people believe if mj was there the bulls fans wasn't going to boo krause?
The only reason these clowns in the media are upset that MJ and Scottie didn't show up us because they want to see an awkward moment or a controversial moment between the two. They are upset that they have nothing to gossip about. Just like charles barkley said last year he wanted to see the sparks and mj didn't give them their fight
Mad dog trippin lol he act like Krause found Pippen and signed him as an undrafted rookie or a 2nd round pick. Everyone knew how good Pippen was that’s why he was a high draft pick
They booed Jerry years ago 😂 stop with these Narratives
Larsa Pippin ruined this reunion lol
As a bulls fan I wanna make this clear.... F Krause what he did was unforgivable dead or not and F reinsdorf he dont gaf about the bulls winning another single championship.
Ppl constantly wants to blame Jordan for everything, Now I see why he didn't show up
For real, and Jordan wasn't even into that much beef with Krause, it was actually Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant who had beef with him. They have been booing Krause since the Early 90's nothing new.
And they say MJ was not bullied or criticized enough 😅
keep dickriding
*I think if my ex-teammate's GOLD-DIGGING ex-wife is PLUNKING my son..* in order to get a piece of my money???? Probably a "good reason" not to show up to the CHICAGO BULLS RING OF HONOR
That's always been the most puzzling Sports story in history to me, " The Last Dance" for a Bulls Team that had won 5 Championships prior to winning the 6th and this Jerry Crouse Guy says " hey that's it, I'm busting this thing up?" Feels like some mob pressure or something that lead to him making that call. Just think, 28 yrs later, not a single championship appearance! Not a Bulls Fan, but it was just crazy that they voluntarily stopped this second best championship run in the history of the NBA.
Thank you.
Chicago has hated Krause and Reinsdorf for decades for this very reason. It's a weird experience seeing Krause booed again after being booed nonstop for decades and then people from all over the country who haven't paid attention for decades all of a sudden have an opinion.
No, we don't care that you think we're classless. Why? Because 99% of people commenting on the issue really have no idea what they're talking about.
But thank you again for applying a bit of logic to state the obvious.
@@fuckfuckfuckshit781The difference that you forgot to point out, is that the Ring Of Honor was supposed to be a ceremony honoring all of Bulls history. And yet, people decided to be petty for no reason, and boo a man who died 7 years ago who is no longer around to defend himself. And yet, when they are rightfully called out, all you Bulls fans throw around excuses saying “He broke the team up! They could have won more!” or “We have a right to boo who we want”.
The Ring Of Honor was not a place to whine about hypotheticals. The Bulls dynasty was broken up 26 years ago. Many Bulls fans were not even alive when it happened. No matter how angry you are about it, at the end of the day, the dynasty still brought home 6 championships and became arguably the greatest team ever. People should focus on the good that came out of everything, not the bad.
The event in the United Center was a disaster😑
Jordan and his son Marcus classless
Mad Dog is delusional. They can’t just pretend that Scotty and MJ don’t have major beef. They want nothing to do with each other, including sharing the same stage. The camaraderie is dead, and it’s unfortunate and sad
We all know why. Jordan’s son is piping Pippen ex
It's pippens fault for causing the tension
These old NBA players don't care about the game anymore. It isn't the same game they played in
The whole Kraus thing is silly because the GM does what the OWNER wants!!!
Krause didn't draft MJ, Rod Thorn did.
The ring of honor was a complete mess. The structure, the reaction from the fans, and how lazily it was thrown together.
I think Reinsdorf respected Krause cuz he’s the one who built the team. Right or wrong he was like I’m gonna ride with my dude imo. He should ride with his team tho cuz breaking up was stupid.
@@FrankCruzFilms Yeah, he respected Krause but c'mon it's business. Why break that up at the height of its momentum bringing in all that money because the White Sox was sure not doing it which he also owned and Krause was the GM for them too before coming over to the Bulls. Once Krause did that they had no momentum until the arrival of Derrick Rose .
Y’all don’t know what you’re talking about. Reinsdorf didn’t want to keep paying those high salaries so they broke up the team, and Krause took the blame for it. Because that’s his job.
@@michaelj9277 Yes we do. It was stated that Reinsdorf deserves some of that smoke as well. He's not off the hook. And we know that.

In the first place, the Bulls organization should not put their eggs in one basket. They should have sporadically celebrated the Ring of Honor in every era that made the organization. This would not have happened if the organizers looked ahead to celebrate this in one go to get this type of reception.
MJ doesn’t need an excuse! This team did everything to stop him from winning even more! Honoring the guy who was directly at fault also? No thanks!!

I remembered those years so fondly. It's sad through all of that success to now know they never became brothers, let alone real friends.
They didnt like Krause because he was firing Phil Jackson for emotional reasons which led to the breakup of the team. And like dont act like Krause never got bood before. He always got bood, this isn’t about disrespecting his wife, this is about the legacy of shame that he left behind in Chicago even though he helped build a legendary team. Lets be clear, its a lot easier to build a championship team when you have Jordan on it in his prime. As for MJ and Pip not being there, i agree this was inexcusable and shameful

WELL ATLEAST THEY WERE AT THE MIAMI HEAT ARENA WHEN WADE GOT HIS JERSEY RETIRED
Major injuries to Derrick Rose and Jay Williams (career-ending) and Eddy Curry not panning out despite obvious potential. Kukoc bailing out after being given the keys to a rebuilding franchise (Krause had high hopes for him).

First of all, why, after 25 years, you are putting in your ring of honor your best franchise player? Plus this is not the best franchise player, this is michael jordan. He should have been there 2 seconds after he retired.
I am not going to that ceremony. It's 25 years too late
He already had his jersey retired, so he already was honored. I suspect the Ring Of Honor was made more to honor those underrated in Bulls history, like Artis Gilmore and Chet Walker.
Pippen and MJ don’t leave the house unless they get their appearance fees up front lol
