Toro: auger lever will not stay engaged with the traction lever depressed. The cog doesn’t engage to lock. I’ve seen other posts online. Can you help me find a service center near Monument, Colorado (zip: 80132)? Can’t find anyone to service electric machines. I’ve got 5 more days until my 30 day window to return to Tractor Supply expires. Used TWICE. worked well, but longevity and serviceable??
@@particles343 they only come with two batteries 2 7.5ah batteries How off they are with their 30 cars in 10 in of snow they should give you the third battery and three fast charges!! You're lucky if you get 1/3 of what they say!! He's correct 30 minutes!! Read my above previous comment It explains everything!! I kept mine because I have a very small property. I've used it several times. It does 30 minutes!! The weird thing is It does 30 minutes in heavy snow, icy wet snow, frozen snow, fluffy snow. It's like it's the same no matter what 30 minutes!! Even in heavy deep snow it does 30 minutes. But there are some tricks.. Don't know if I talked about them yet. Electric motors surge every time you turn them on.. probably better off keeping the auger going as much as you can not stopping and starting. This would also be same theory for the drive. I always engage the drive slowly.. trying not to surge it. Same thing with the auger. Go as slow as you can. You can change the speed of first gear by turning the steel transmission rod top couple of turns clockwise.. after you follow the directions how to install the rod. Let the machine do the work Don't rush it. Listen to the motor you can hear when it gets bogged down just back off. Only do half of the width of the opening.. And when you can use economy mode use it. Economy mode works great if you're clearing on a parking spot on a street and you only have to throw it a few feet you don't want it to go very far.. something gas snow blowers don't have which is cool. When it's on full power it's always going to try to throw 45 ft. Basically economy mode brings it down to half.. This will help but not a ton.... REALLY SUCKS BECAUSE THIS THING WORKS JUST AS GOOD AS THE GAS MODEL IF NOT BETTER.. But that's the way it is with batteries. Just don't know why they were so dishonest.. because a lot of people would not buy it if it only lasted 30 minutes in heavy snow. Now they have tons and tons of people stuck with them that really can't return them if they don't have a truck.. or they didn't buy it during the winter they bought it during the summer BASED ON THE 30 CARS IN 10 IN OF SNOW!! Same thing with cars look how much cars cost with the engine versus the battery version.. thousands of dollars more maybe even twice as much. It's those damn batteries!! Gas engines will always be better long-term no matter what You just keep putting gas in it.. I do think Toro made the two stage battery powered snowblower the right way.. same thing as their gas version just an electric motor with batteries.. no more circuit boards and special things because it's electric ready to break in a couple of years because of all the moisture and cold solder joints being outside and you won't be able to get the parts. You can get Toro parts for this snowblower and ones like it probably forever!! Probably the life of you!! That's what's great about it!! If they gave you two sets of batteries and four fast chargers for the same price NOW WE'RE TALKING THE PERFORMANCE OF GAS!! Also Toro's batteries are the best in its class, the highest quality cells And they aren't cheap!! That's why they are $350 a piece!! Think about it the bare bone tool without the batteries E26, and the gas version 826 are the exact same price cuz they're the exact same machine just different motors. IT'S THE DAMN BATTERIES!! BATTERIES BATTERIES BATTERIES!! 🤣
Honestly I think you must have either not charged your batteries fully before first use or something else was wrong because I just got through my first use on my 120ft double (triple at some points) driveway and I went until batteries died and I got around 40 minutes of runtime. This was with heavy hardpacked snow that I had been avoiding dealing with because I knew this thing was on its way from Home Depot. Also, it was my first time using a snowblower so the first 20 minutes of using it I was getting the hang of the drive controls. So very inefficient driving by me and it still was able to clear the whole drive except for one small spot. Next snowfall I imagine I should get through the whole thing no problem since I won’t have driven over it 20 times and packed it down. This thing was even chewing through the hard areas I had packed down and throwing it no problem. Only problems were my bad driving. And also - I wasn’t using eco-mode and have only 2 batteries. So I may be able to get even more runtime.
After using it for a while the motor quit. I was using the auger at the time. The battery's still have at least 1/2 time left. It wouldn't start. I put the batterys back into the charger and they show that they are charged. Any suggestions. Thank you
Hello, John! Yes, the skids are installed at the factory. However, we recommend checking the positioning of the skids and adjusting them if necessary. You can find more information in your owner’s manual.
The only problem is the manual gives you different lengths for the springs for the levers. For the left spring the drive lever You guys in the video say 2 in. ( In the manual it says 2 and 3/16 ) The decimal for this if using a caliper is 2.19 - for the auger lever You guys say In the video 2 and 3/4 in in decimal that's 2.75 ( In the manual It's 2 3/5 ) in decimal that's 2.6 So the measurements in the manual are slightly different. For the drive the left handle You guys In the video are saying the spring tension ( is slightly less Then the manual ) And for the right The auger lever ( in the video It's also slightly less ) So which one should people follow?
I guess they’re just providing general guidelines from which to start. Mine was set up pretty much spot-on right out of the box… I wouldn’t bother readjusting unless the spring lengths were far out of spec, or the drive and/or auger were not engaging properly. I have seen several different updated versions of the manual for this model online, each one being slightly different from the paper manual included with the snowblower.
@@r.stanley1049 on the E24 that I returned in the E26 they were off with either of the specs from the manual or the video. It's real simple how it works anyways. It's all about the belts engaging. If you hear some squeaking and something like that. You don't want the belt slipping and squeaking. That means you need to tighten Make that spring tighter which means make it longer. I think you're better off going with the tighter specifications meaning the spring to be longer. So on the left side would be the 2 in and 3/16 I think that's what it is, And the right side 2 and 3/4. That's just going Make the belt have more pressure. I think that's how it works. On both machines I heard squeaking going backwards. That's usually the belts not tight enough. ;)
Just picked mine up today!!! Just need snow now 🤨
The manual should say use this video. It’s perfect 😀😀😀
Great video. Perfect explanation. Manual is not nearly enough to explain how to put it together.
This video made setting up my new Toro very easy - thank you for making it!
Tech question, Toro: video says 2” for traction cable, the manual says 2 3/16”, and auger cable 2 3/4” vs manual says 2 3/5”.
Which is it?

I returned mine after one use. Battery life was terrible. 30 minutes run time and 3.5 hours to recharge.
Did you call the customer care number at the end of the video ?
Did you have 3 batteries?

4:47 no explanation on how to adjust scraper/auger height? Mine was shipped basically touching the floor in my garage
And my auger tension cable just snapped. I guess I should have went to a separate video to explain how turnbuckles work.

Loosen the jam nut… how? My wrenches just slide on the shaft. How do I get leverage?
When can i buy this in Norway? All dealers have none on stock.
Question, are the skid shoes installed and adjusted at the factory?
