I figured that’s what you were going to say - but good work keeping the suspense going! I watched the Anderson Pens video yesterday and they mentioned that they watch the weather forecasts for wherever they are sending ink orders and wait until there is no danger of freezing for just this reason. Enjoy your new acquisitions. Interesting that you are in Canada and purchasing FWP press inks from an American shop - well-travelled ink, but it’s back home 😊

As a fellow Canadian, I salute your bravery at ordering ink in winter. I would never take that chance, for me, winter is to order pens, summer is to order ink!

Belated happy birthday. I, too, buy myself birthday presents. I had to smile when you revealed your gift was the Benu Euphoria Earl Grey. That's what I recently bought for my own birthday with a medium nib. I have it inked with Diamine Writers Blood. It is my new favorite pen. I love the slight bit of feedback that I get from the Benu pens, and this one is a very wet writer, which I love, too. I know I did not need another pen, but the moment I got the email from Goulet Pens about this Benu Earl Grey, I had to have it!

I cannot comprehend living somewhere cold enough that ink would freeze! I've lived in Australia and Fiji for most of my life. I now live in Perth, Australia and it's so hot right now, we keep chocolate in the fridge so it doesn't melt!
Yeah last week it was in the -20 Celsius mark for me. In a different province to me they were in the -40’s!
@@PensandTea yesterday we considered 33 Celsius a "reasonable" day! We had a day recently that was 42!

Thanks to your reviews, I recently got my first Benu... Quickly followed by my 2nd, & a 3rd on the way... Lol. The first was the Euphoria Hallowed Harvest, not my usual color scheme, but it was on sale, so I figured, why not. Then I found a French Poetry on ebay for nearly half price, so THAT happened. It was a broad nib, which is NOT my jam, so I did order a replacement nib unit, but I was pleasantly surprised that the broad nib, when used as reverse, is still buttery smooth & a finer line! & now I also have a Briolette in Milky Way en route from Pure Pens because I'm dying to try their Extra Fine nib. Oh how I wish it was available on the Euphoria & Talisman! Happy birthday from another January baby, book worm & DnD nerd! Mine is next week :) I wish my work team was hiring as we're are all (including our boss) DnD nerds & I could use a fountain pen nerd ally!

The Earl Grey Euphoria is my first even Benu and I'm loving it! Its definetly my favorite pen too. (I have it inked with Rominant Industry Earl Grey Tea, cuz ya girl is a sucker for a theme, its actually a really great pairing.)

Sorry about your “Tragedies”, but I love the support from the Goulet Pens people, and think by now I should be a stock - holder based on my own habits. Hi Kerry! I was concerned in your previous video when you said you had ordered a Ferris Wheel Press bottle now in winter. I think it turned out pretty well for you and that's a great colour! I ordered 3 FWP bottles along with the new ink carriage directly from them last March, and then we had a late extra-cold snap. In transit, two bottles froze into pucks and completely shattered the glass, but the third one which was packed further inside the box just oozed out around the threads like yours. My family brought the package inside during the day while I was at work, and when I got home (maybe an hour later) the melting ink was leaking through their boxes into the packaging. I was able to decant most of it into empty bottles. Lesson learned for me! 😉 All the best!
It’s always a risk in the winter for sure. I typically don’t buy bottles in the colder season but I couldn’t resist hahaha

What a mess... Love Maruman notebooks. For work I usually get the lined B5 size basic note version. It has a cardboard cover, but it available for just under four euro. The paper is a little bit smoother than the paper in the mnemosyne notebooks.
Last winter, twice I received a broken bottle of Queen Allium from FWP. They were great to deal with, and I finally opted to get my money back. I got a bottle this summer. I'm never buying a bottle in winter again!! Beautiful Benu pen, I'm eying the Neapolitain one.

I just bought two new nibs for my birthday Briolette as the broad it came with is a firehose. I do like the wetness but my ink’s colour gets out-sheened! Been using it a lot more now with a fine nib (for work) but the medium and broad will still get a lot of use. The broad was great for Christmas cards!

I ordered a couple of Kaweo pens from Knight's Writing Company in/near Ottawa. Graeme there states that he won't ship ink in winter because of the possibility of freezing. When my pens arrived, he had - fortunately - packed the complimentary cartridges in a little bagie. Fortunately, because there was A Leak. The cartridges appeared to have succumbed to the cold, and I thought at first that both cartridges were for the garbage. But I separated them in the bag, and determined that only one seemed to be leaking, so I poured them into a little fruit cup I use for pen cleaning, and lo and behold, it was only the mouth of one cartridge that leaked. It only lost a couple of drops (of COURSE it looks worse the the bag), and it's actually in one of the new pens and working fine.
So I empathise with your ink loss, and celebrate with you the vagaries of physics that allowed the bottle and almost all your ink to survive. Bon week-end !
Does FWP have waterproof ink for fountain pens?
My last bottle I got was Noodler's Polar Black so didn't have it freeze. Which considering we were dealing with below freezing temps was kinda fitting.

Mnemosyne was a Greek Titan (Titaness?), one of the offspring of the goddess Gaia and the god Uranus, who was impregnated by her nephew Zeus, who seemed to have made it with freaking EVERYBODY. Mnemosyne was keeper of memory, and her name is pronounced "Nee- MOZ-a-nee", accento on the second syllable. You might be able to get some of the inksplosion out with a damp paper towel or newspaper, changing it as soon as it soaks up anything, lest the paper of the box swells up and turns to mush. Don't ask me how I know this, please. Happiest of all birthdays.

I ordered mine as soon as it launched and I have never done that before, but tea is my tipple of choice so I had to get it. I’ve gone so Far down the BENU rabbit hole, I’ve got 5 now! I started with Scent of Irises -M ( I grow ‘em so that was an obvious choice), Tigers Eye-F, Edelweiss-F , French Poetry -F, and the Earl Grey-F. I’ve declared a moratorium on pen purchases…. We’ll see how long that lasts. At some point I’d really like a gold nib pen but I’m unsure as to either a 14or a 21. Can you tell the difference and is there one you’d suggest? Was that the Storied time Blue that froze? I couldn’t believe it that the bottle didn’t bust. I only have 1 FWP ink & it’s Poison Envy, but I really wanted the Patina Black, but it’s not available, but I’m hoping they bring it back.
My bottle from a different shipper did the same thing.
I’m interested in your thoughts on Mnemosyne paper. The paper was so smooth and almost glossy that a few inks I tried would bead up as if I were writing on plastic and the ink would never dry. Has anyone else experienced this with Mnemosyne?
Like you, I don’t like glitter in my inks and I’m almost saddened to see that most new ink developments these days are replete with mica or glitter of varying degrees. I guess I’m a purist.

Just so you know, that type of mic is intended to be clipped to your collar, holding it like that causes the excessive pops and brittle sounds on your videos. Try clipping it on your collar and you will notice an improvement in your sound quality.
I’ve actually had the opposite experience with this mic, for whatever reason the volume is low and muffled every time I’ve clipped it like I’m supposed too. Don’t know why 🤷🏼♀️
