This is the kind of method that I was taught to try to do with writing, where you don't think about it to much and you just try to write with like a stream of consciousness from mind to fingers to paper. And to me, that is a really fun and satisfying way to write stories.
I never thought of applying that method to drawing, I am super self concious about my drawing abilities (or the lack there of) and I am constantly doghting myself and thinking about it when I am drawing, so I am definitely going to experiment with doing this more intuitive style. I understand that it is probably easier said than done, but you got to try.

I missed the part of the video where you talked about why proportions doesn't work.

One recommendation to take into account in any drawing development for it to have an interesting result be it Improvisational or planned. It goes beyond anatomical or perspective kowledge. The ones you mentioned Weistling or Kim jung gi apply it knowing ir or not knowing it because its intuitive:
    Variability in shape language.
This includes varying line value while drawing, designing contours that tell stories( small, medium, large shape changes), Shape language that enhances what you are communicating.
Any of these are independent of what style you apply.
