Screw_It well for starters their thin neck, meaning this Luke RoTJ or Obi-Wan style lightsabers are prone to breaking at the neck. It's very poorly constructed. All of their parts are made in China or Taiwan. I forget which. In general their electronics are very shoddy. The buttons are super glued in place with globs of glue. The battery pack and sound board are just kind of taped together and thrown inside the hilt with no support. Things like that. Pretty out on the outside. But I'd always suggest buying the hilt empty and letting someone with more skill install different electronics and such. That's not even getting into the ethics of them as a company. Stealing peoples work, threatening others. It's quite a long list. SF is banned from all the major Saber forums and FB groups except the ones they made.
Matthew Cohen Very true. I prefer petite crouton and crystal focus boards over veridian any day. Saber forges 12 watts are just a gimmick. If you had a blade that is actually good at diffusing the light than you wouldn't need to spend 30$ on a single LED you could buy a tri or quad cree.
+Will Johnson well obi wans was but this one was made for roth and was machined for them because they had a higher budget for this movie. so it was still pretty high quality. of course there was the stunt model which had more screen time than this and was made out of a custom machined grip area to model obi's grenade section, a graflex clip, a tube and an armatage shanks handwheel with the motor peice you spoke of, but that was the black and silver one, not this one which is the hero edition which is the one vader held and said "i see you have constructed a new lightsaber" so there were two sabers.
The Awperator I had heard that the prop used by luke during the battle with vader during rotj was the same exact prop that sir Alec Giuness used in the first movie and it was cosmetically changed into the silver and black one that you referred to
Gweapon01 There were two separate props, the hero prop seen here and the very different V2 prop that has a Graflex clamp on it just like the Alec Guinness prop.
In the Scholastic book of: Star Wars: Lightsabers: A guide to weapon of the Force. Anakin's Skywalker's second version of his Lightsaber fits the description of the design of the Saber on the inside of the hilt. Quite accurate details, it's looks so real.
There is a company called saberforge that sells almost identical lightsaber props for a fraction of a price. It's called the Saberforge Prodigal Son. And, you can actually duel with the saber. It comes with a blade and everything.
This cost me $399 shipped. Saved 20% from Redford during their moving sale. The deletd scen is in the Star Wars Blu Ray edition, but as an extra, not incorporated in the movie. I heard about the question of Mark not remembering that scene but it was confirmed by Lucafilm that it was indeed Mark.

1) The EFX was purchased long ago in a galaxy far far away. No actually long ago from Redford Films.... 2) Not the eFX...only the Graflex one compared to it. 3) You can do light "play" dueling with the Master Replicas...better to get an Ultrasaber for heavy dueling. If I dueled lightly with my Graflex featured in this video it won't fall apart.
Oh yeah the Graflex in this video was purchased from Master Yoda on the FX-Sabers forum. A commissioned ESB piece made from a vintage Graflex 3-cell flashgun.
That crystal doesnt look right. Luke uses a synthetic crystal. It should have a more symmetric cutting and definitive shape, not random shape like natural crystal.
I know right. These are gorgeous pieces. But the major drawback is that you can't put a blade in them. Then again considering how much space the electronics take up, I can understand why there is no space to attach a force fx blade.
If these had a blade, they would be the greatest things ever created.

cos the actual prop is a tap head, a calculator screen, part of an engine, a clamp and some other machine parts
