so..... thank the sugar daddy?
*daddies
Yep
I'm sorry I'm confused I thought of sugar daddy was for a person that doesn't want to work? Coco Chanel worked. This issue has more to do with countries that don't invest in their citizens that have abilities to create good companies. Starting a company is very challenging for everybody and we shouldn't have a world where only people with Rich parents get to have opportunities to do what they want. I believe in equal opportunities for everybody so the world is based on who is talented and working hard to support a career that can be fulfilling for themselves and others in their Community with their skills and talents. Your comment dismisses a lot of hard work
@@cyzcyt Fascinating how sexism works. Men create a world where women need them to survive then put women down for becoming opportunists that don't want to get married to have a good life. She was a damn orphan just trying to make it in the world and I have empathy for that even tho I grew up privileged. I feel guilty seeing so many people struggle with things like this because my parents are the ones helping me start a business and she didn't have that. Empathy is a good thing to have for others in my opinion. Even with her trying to use the Nazis she couldn't get back the company she created. She was a good investment and THAT is why people should have been investing with her and it is crazy to me that we live in a world that she had to do all that to create a company.
@Fuert Neigt Exactly, I don't necessarily consider her a role model for using the Nazis but I do have compassion for her circumstances and how she had this talent that she just HAD to do something with for the world. She did create some really iconic things in fashion like the little black dress and the chain shoulder bags!

She wouldn't have been anything without the Jewish man who helped her. What a b****. But I think ultimately but it's extremely funny that Pierre's descendants own the company. If that's not karma I don't know what is. XD
Yup, I never like Coco Channel (the person), for me she's the worst role model for young women, a greedy, back-stabing, racist, hypocrite, manipulative dirtbag. People who admire that kind of person are basically saying: women should be gold diggers, and have scumbag personality to get anywhere.
@@Mollygan what she did ultimately set her up for a lifetime of wealth. regardless of your qualms with a "gold diggers", it's obviously smart and pays off.
@@succme1229 I'm not saying she wasen't smart, what I'm saying is she was a terrible person, regardless of money or sucess.
I doesn't matter how much money you possess, if you're a piece of *Shitt* of a human!!.😧😕
I thinks she both negative and positive role model, she was poor and during that time the only thing most women had to worry about was their power over men through there appearance and charisma. I think she had a dream and was willing to do anything to try and achieve it but that's were the negatives come. When she started perfumes and collaborated with that man she didn't set aside her prejudice but used him to help with her business then try to take their entire business

...so she was just like every other member of the upper class & top 1%😂
That's the only way to the top!
Like most people....
You don't get to that echelon being honorable and honest.
Okay people, it just shocks me how all of you are suprised about this. There was NO WAY you could start a succesful business if you weren't sympathized with the german nazis. They were everywhere. They had power. I can assure you, every single company started during the war has corelation with nazis, no matter if its Disney, Ikea or Hugo Boss. Coco had no morals, she was manipulative and that's how she made her way to the top and it amazes me how she is portrayed as the elegance symbol, because in my opinion you cannot be elegant without an elegant soul.
Yeah they were the rising powers in the 30's so they were the ones you wanted to get in bed with. Keep in mind it was years before the real atrocities happened and much before they came to public knowledge. Government and military contracts are extremely lucrative for private companies. It makes perfect business sense that many companies wanted to work for them. Business people are cold hearted MF-ers, they only care about the money. I can't believe people are surprised by this.
Konstantinovich1 iKR like I know what she did was wrong but she just wanted to be successful.

“Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.”. (for example that red armband.)
She was a terrible person and all but how the hell did the Pierre get 90% when she created everything?
Women didn't have much of a leg to stand on during that time.
Exactly. Why did he think it was okay to take 90 percent of her profits. He's the asshole.
Women had virtually no rights at the time. We were seen as nothing more than domestic servants and incubators. She was living in a man's world.
Sancocho coco Chanel was not one of these women . She lived in her own world . She had her opportunity to start a new life and flee to America like many other wealthy people in Paris . Instead she stayed and swindled her way into the Nazi party . It amazes me that people would support such a human , whether it be a woman or man
Nothing about being a woman (leg to stand on? C'mon, she got everything she wanted just by looking pretty and batting her eyelashes from her suitors). Pierre got most of it because she couldn't expand without his business. If it wasn't for him, she'll just be a small store in France. So, the international venture needed her business to integrate with his, which was a much bigger and wealthier business. That's why he owns most of it because most of it was his.
This women sounds so wicked.. I would not want to have anything to do with her.. dude make a video on the found of IKEA I hear he was a fascist too..

A lot of the most iconic 20th century fashion designers had Nazi sympathies/ties, she wasn't the only one. Christian Dior, Hugo Boss, Cristobal Balenciaga, including the Louis Vuitton family.
Who cares
what about Gianni Versace?
@@chayensweetobsoleteversion3847 versace was made way after thr war as donatella versace, gianni versace's sister is still alive
Ready comments.
Hold on now you have to be careful suggesting people like Christian Dior had “ties” as you put it, it’s not that simple. Dior was not himself an established designer nor was he a sympathiser, simply he was a man working in a fashion house during the occupation of France and he like meany others where forced to obey orders. He dressed nazi wife’s yes did he want to ? No. His sister who he loved more than anything was a member of the French resistance who was captured, tortured and sent to a concentration camp. The miss Dior perfume was dedicated to her upon its release. Then again he had a cousin who was a nazi but then like anyone of the time there will have been people he knew who where for an against. Diors views are not public. Coco Chanel on the other hand is quite evident but I suspect it had more to do with her own financial greed.

@@bulletsfordinner8307 That's not the case. Any company that survived the years of war and stayed successful wasn't just superficially involved with the Nazis "to survive". I think you owe it to yourself to learn more about Ms Chanel, the complex set of circumstances she found herself in, Vichy France, the German occupation, and the general context of that era.
