NO ONE can deny how Talented she was❤❤❤
Exactly now she is selfmade millionaire
She was also famous for her little black dresses!
She also brought the nautical look to fashion and costume jewelry. She was an icon.
She liked black because her torturing nuns wore it constantly when she was uprooted from her home to the orphanage. Her father didn't want children.
She was also famous for bring a virulent Jew-hater!!!!
Yes, but many people know that :3
Black , SS uniform designed by Hugo boss . Black like chanels soul . SS informant and seller of souls . English agents and French resistance fighters sent to Thier deaths by this German loving Harlet . . Seek the real history it is there for all to see . .
No one else annoyed that the perfume wasn't number 5 on the list?!
Elliott Mazs i was thinking the same 😂
Now that you mention it IM SUPER MAD OMG!!!😩😩🤦🤦
Yep, you got point there.
Lol there's much better..besides she did not create it...
Didnt she get it from the Jews..nazi lover
"where future billionaires come to get inspired" LMFAO
DardyGamer sKSKSKSKS
Phew! Thank you. Got a bit insecure at first.
DardyGamer i watched this and, bam! Rich! Anyone can afford to smell good...
I cringed so hard
Yeah not just lame but hundred percent cringe-worthy
Interesting video. But at 5:37 and 5:59 the woman shown in the photo shaking hands with Hitler is not Coco Chanel but Wallis Simpson, the Duchess of Windsor.
right...and she was connected to the Beaudelairian (sp?) Society... which was condemned etc
HAHA OMG, it's so hard to show this, of course they never found any picture of CHANEL and Hitler, and pretty sure she never met him. Nobody knows perfectly what Gabrielle did during the war but she was not a nazi even if she had deals with them, it was more like a vendetta against the Wertheirmer family.
Dimitri C. H. H
laflorazul21 I was going to say probably the only video I like by alux. But then I read this.
laflorazul21 so what's your point. That isn't her with the pianist at no 1 either and she's not known to have met hitler. Whereas wallis simpson has to be one of the most famous women of all time so you're stating the obvious
It's funny the only thing that was emphasized at the end was the Nazi thing. Not the fact that she was an orphan and was able to pull herself out of that life to become iconic.
Since she was a Natzi, it doesn't matter what elce she did. How many people died because of her.
She wasn't a Nazi, she happened to live in the Ritz as did high ranking nails. Read her biog and don't be so silly believing a you tube video.
@@pegkilday4100 she was a nazi spy, whilst at the ritz her code name was Westminster due to her relationship with the duke of Westminster the only reason she wasn't arrested and in prisoned was because she knew too many scandals secrets about lots of high ranking men in British aristocracy (she was also close pre war to Winston Churchill). but she was openly anti semitist.
I love the designs of early Chanel I like how she was self made I love how carl lager felt changed and shaped the brand and to this day its one of my favourite fashion houses. but she did some pretty shitty things, I don't think the current brand should suffer for her mistake they should do more to acknowledge this fact.
@@pegkilday4100 she literally slept with the nazis and did spy work for them.
@@cassiemiller7321 She was sleeping with a german officer but she was not a nazi. No excuses for her. But no liars because it's very different.
There is nothing harder than being a talented woman in a man's game. She paid her dues though. She suffered what some might call abject humiliation to survive. But she rose above it all, held onto her style and graceful dignity and exploded onto the world because she had something they hadnt counted on...
The support of the nazi party 😂
One of the greatest fashion creator ever exist and shaken this world with her talent.
she invented pants for women thank-you Coco
She liberated women apparel wise. I admire her for her courage in doing that.
yea all while she was fuckn nazis who literally in genocide mode. so she was also doing on other ways too she’s a pos person.
Who cares? This witch still was a racist nazi
liberated to become a nazi sympathizer
she was a genious designer in creating her own textile texture
Coco Chanel was a blessing to women because her styles were comfortable and available to any income. They used much less fabric and were often of knits...she put her fabulous jewelry, such as the black pearls given by the Duke, safely away and loved costume jewelry for everyday. I could write an essay on the effect she had just on my own grandmothers, who were born in 1885 and 1890. One was born poor in Tennessee, her life going through Oklahoma and Texas small towns. She was an excellent seamstress and looks lovely in the Chanel look skirts she made herself.
As for the Nazi issue...first off, there was a post war witch hunt that overdid hugely...often to import Nazis into the US to serve our government. Looking at the evidence available on youtube, she certainly didn't betray Jews to the Gestapo or anything truly horrible. If her Wehrmacht officer was asked by intelligence to get Coco to approach her old friend Winston Churchill on behalf of an armistice or peace agreement, that would indicate how much German command wanted to go behind the politicians (Hitler) and form a peace....a peace that would have saved millions of lives, freed the camps, prevented the "Final Solution", and saved Dresden perhaps even Tokyo from fire bombing. But, as we all know NOW, the construction contracts had already been signed and the bankers had already determined the war would be prolonged for their interests. There were others who wanted D-Day in 1943 and were argued down by the money interests and military industrialists.
My point is...don't believe the cover stories about anything. And enjoy Chanel #5...
I read her biography. In it, it said that she was a very private person.
She was a Leo. The perfectionist and passionate.
Aaah why am I a Libra😭
hehe i’m a leooo
@@ananyachaudhari Libras are nice too
dev gana that’s YOUR opinion. u probably read those posts by 11 yr olds on snapchat. sit down
@dev gana That is not true I am not a liar!
Stop placing people in a box.
I knew all of them, because I was once obsessed with Chanel. My first designer perfume was Chanel number 5 and my first tattoo was the double c logo under my left collar bone. She was force to move to Switzerland during WW2 due to her connection with the Nazis. That's why she was buried there. Her own country hated her after they discovered her ties with the Nazis.
I saw in a documentary about Nazi collaborators, a series about different countries and among the French it was Coco Chanel, She had a German officer for a lover...That did it for me I lost all respect
Perfume and tattoo (long associated with prisoners) in one sentence. Now that's elegance!
Coco channel kept communists and other freaks from hurting France by allying with the Nazis which was something most French people didn’t really mind at all except a selected few. And you’re out here getting brand logos tattooed on yourself 😂
The French felt guilty for not standing up to the Germans....as Simone Signoret joked, "After the war EVERYBODY was in the Resistance." (She actually rode a bike and delivered a note or something.) The witch hunts after the war were like the McCarthy witch hunts in the US....they went after and smeared the wrong people while the real villains were free and rewarded with good jobs and pensions, often in the USA. I have this from a Frenchman who went around changing street signs in the Resistance as a teenager.
@@popikoukaki7495 that’s called surviving and she played her cards well.
Why was her iconic Chanel No. 5 perfume number 4 on the list? Luxury is supposed to be about attention to detail. You have failed miserably, Alux.
Hello Aluxers! We wanted to jump the the comments to thank you for watching this video! What do you think about Coco Chanel and which personality should we do next?
I already new all these things and I'm only five yrs old
***** i was just kidding im 14 now i was 13 when i posted that
actually never mind i was alread 14 sorry just looked at the posted date but your response priceless
Alux.com Your information is not accurate. You should do better research before you put things out there.
please tell us something about Valentino @Alux.com
3:33 They sprayed the staircase with WHAT??? Bleach? Alcohol? Windex? Perfume?
I think you need to be a little more particular when making the video since you begin to discuss Chanel having close ties to the Nazi's yet you post a video clip of Wallis Simpson and Edward where Wallis is shaking the hand of Hitler. Tsk Tsk!
And now the House of Chanel is owned by a Jewish Family...
Ditte Datte it was partly owed by that same family even before the war - that’s how she was able to globalise. He’d sell her perfumes in North America etc
not just that but they didn't even mention that she was close with the russian czar too. she was a double-agent, and that's a pretty well-known fact.
"Close ties to the Nazi's" what??? And which Nazi??? Since you said "Nazi's"....
She did have close ties with the Nazis though... Had seen a documentary, and yeah you're all right about the Jewish family owning the House of Channel, that doc talked about their relationship that went to rivalry.
What Coco Chanel did in her past is and was her decision and her business~not mine~all of us have secrets and skeletons in our closets. I surely cannot cast the first stone. This video does not change my opinion about this iconic woman who defied men to bring femininity to all women and prove we are more than a slave to men. I admire and deeply respect this brave woman who rose to an influential state by having guts and determination to allow women to think for ourselves. RIP Miss Chanel.
I agree.. She Took Care of herself in a time when you didn't. You were a mistress . The one thing she wanted, she never got, the true love from one of her many lovers. That's all she wanted. A mans unconditional love.
I Love Coco Chanel she was an absolute revolutionary in Fashion history.
I am a devotee of Chanel .in her fashion sense .it is to me the ultimate look of classic dressing.style elegance and class. .her personal life is not for us to judge .we all deal with our own life our way in our struggles.
Tammy Faye Baker "The Christian Wife of Jim Baker" the Christian evangelical TV shows? But she said that we are all from the same dirt! And I live by this. So basically, we are all in race here on this ball of dirt.
She my biggest biggest inspiration as I also want to became fashion designer in the future. And wona be just like her.
Love ❤️ you coco Chanel.. Lol...
No matter what!!! She created the most beautiful clothes. If she was a man
Nobody would have said she had a bitter mouth.
Wrong info. Coco got her nickname because of the song she sung: "Qui qu'a vu coco"
krazzysu Haha Freshavacado
Who has seen coco in the trocadero
Coco is a survivor. One does what one must do, to do another day. France did a whole lot of "surviving" itself. Most common trait within humankind.
@Daisy Farias Do you what Nazi ties means? It means a coward, turning a blind eye on humanity that killed millions of people
Probably everyone here is wearing slave made clothing...fast fashion. Our corporations are defended with blood and cruelty. What total hypocrites we are to judge anybody.
blathermore Someone speaks the truth. Thank you for pointing that out.
Sad story about a woman who was so succesfull but in the end she died alone and burried alone
Coco mademoiselle!!! That’s my perfume!!!!! It smells amazing!!!!!
If you can try some of her exclusives, omg they are exceptionally expensive but to my mind worth every penny!
Fleur I’m sure they are. Maybe one day. 😉
Morena G. It’s taken me a long time! Bought my first bottle of Chanel at 16 & I’ll be collecting my pension in a few years! It was my daughter who got me my first exclusives bottle of Chanel. It doesn’t always come easy but it’s been worth the wait! 🌹
I love her perfumes too and Coco Mademoiselle is my fav as well.
@@florence1395 I agree! Totally worth the wait.
Chanel was a tough woman, and considering what I have seen of her biographies innately selfish, with little sentiment for others, so I am not surprised about the Nazi connections, but impetus for that association may have been due to a nephew or family member held by the Germans during the war; which may shed some light as to additional motivation if true. In any case, she knew poverty, rejection, humiliation, discipline, and was a loner given her life experiences. Above all she was a talented, bold survivor that has become an unforgettable icon.
Anna P Very well said.
Anna P You're describing myself accurately.
👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Sure, if you had been yanked away from family at age 12, you might have been slightly hardened by that abrupt, horrific experience . Gabrielle was established in Paris. Do you think she wanted ANOTHER abrupt yanking out of her life placement?? She deferred to the H monster. She did not want to be bothered by him. Anyone claiming all this "informant" hype, probably does not know what it's like to set your art studio up and try and establish yourself, only to realize that bombs and war are about to demolish your creations. She had enough of destruction of her delicate feelings. She was a strong Lion and did what she had to do to keep Art alive. A LEO is a creator.
Well said
Interesting, thank you for telling her story!
I knew all of these. I love coco I have been studying her for only a few weeks and all of this was old info
Impeccable fashion sense..I must say👍
Did you know that the top of the bottle of Numero 5 is inspired on the shape of the Place Vendôme in Paris?
Which she had a view of from her suite that she shared with her Nazi boyfriend.
She was a ♌️... I appreciate her contributions to the world 🌎 I don’t care about her past nor the assumptions.
IT IS LIKE MEN WHO DID SOMETHING ARE INNOCENT BECAUSE NOBODY FOCUS ON THEIR TRUE SELF
can you add some more couture designers to this playlist and also add balmain as its herritage is rich in french luxury
Hey, Alux.com I am a young fashion designer that wants to start my empire and I don't know who to talk to or what to do. Could you make a video that teaches youth to create the next great empires? That would really help, A LOT!!! :)
Theodora Etokimo oh can u show me ?
What do you mean? Like my ideas?
Theodora Etokimo yes show me if u want : ) when u became famous.i would like u to remember that i am among those people who supported u
Lol thx! And sorry but I don't want to tell you my idea, I want to keep it secret for a little while longer. But I really appreciate the support!!!!
Theodora Etokimo have a good luck dear
Chanel was a Nazi collaborator, but SO was most of Europe during World War II. She launched her new collection in America and the first collection actually failed, skewered by the French press and receiving a bland response from the American market. So when she did a second collection it debuted specifically in Dallas Texas. It was a Glorious Reprise of her box suit from the 30's, this time in tweed perfect for the New 50's market.,delighted with the success and the attention that Dallas gave for her return, a special collection is done exclusively for the Dallas market. Special note: Although she may have been a collaborator with the Nazi's, her original company was financed by Jews, and her new found success in Dallas was largely a Jewish market, mostly from women who remember Chanel hanging in their grandmothers closet in Pre-War Europe and how beautiful the clothes were. Chanel no5 was the fifth recipe that had the scent she liked the best ( it also happened to be here favorite number ) there are over 28 other recipes #19, #23, and #28 making it to market, but CHANEL No5 has been her Best Seller. There are many more facts that I have learned over the years having wokred with people that worked with her when she was alive. She is truly a SELF made woman multi faceted and complicated.
Wow what a life she had and I do love all her fragrances
I dated a few leo men didn't work out my mother was Leo she also was leo very talented in her sewing as well and was very protective of us as well only 5ft but boy some lion
Love it
We're really excited that you enjoyed it! :D
keep it up guys, you're the heroes!
loved her strength and courage
I have seen and read things about her but i learned a few more from the video.. Her clothes I have seen in America especial the small Jacket and skirt work with a blouse and jeweled buttons .. I was very young could not afford one.. But they were around in the stores and ladies wore them.my mother did.. Thanks for the video she said inspired me from a very young age.. I lived her clothes her life story.. She was a talented lady don't really have a comment about Nazi friends I didn't know about them too young.. Wasn't born yet.
regardless of Nazi association Chanel practically started the trend for the Little Black Dress, Her perfume is the most iconic and renowned fashion accessory of all time and throughout the decades since the 1960s the Chanel jacket has inspired past and future designers in creating the simple classy wardrobe for women. Her bitterness was probably caused by the death of her lover Capel otherwise she would just be like every other businesswoman when it comes to emotions and being in love. She has also inspired women everywhere in what she has done in the way of business, she is one of the first major business owners during a world largely dominated by men.
lol was searching about the brand chanel on youtube and found out today is Coco Chanel's birthday!!what a weird coincidence!!
The best designer of the world. Her name remembered for a long time👍👍
Very nice for people who love designer things to know
Coco Chanel has fascinated me my entire life, although I'm disappointed to learn of her involvement with the Nazis.
Historians have found that they called her Coco because of the word "cocotte" she was known for dating rich men, that's how she started her empire, men invested in her hats
That's a tiny, out of context approach to Gabrielle's life. Study the whole thing, and get busy reading.
BTW, the word is "Coquette" for flirting in French. But Gabrielle sang songs in a cabaret, and one song was "Coco".
im so mad i just watch this rn . i wanna gift my mom that channel 5 perfume. 😖
I really admire her!
Gabrielle was given away. At an age where she felt HUGE pain about it. Her father did it. Her home was abruptly turned into an orphanage. She was transplanted to one. Where her overseers wore Black. Unless you read about Hitler and artists, you will not know what threats he gave to them. Coco was established in Paris, trying to build her design business. She did not want to be uprooted one more time. So she was pleasant to Hitler in order that he leave her be and not uproot her. Study what other artists had to do to be left alone by that monster...
Black in my favorite🖤
watching this video, seems that i find out so much about her that most things in our lives are similar :O
Literally just everything from the Chanel #5 video on the Chanel UA-cam channel only that one is 100000000 times better
Now I understand why I am so inspired by Gabrielle Chanel and attached to her life's story. It's my birthday on 5th Feb & she considered this date lucky for her ;)
My son was born on Feb 5th 2016 and his name Is Gabriel 😅
Coco Chanel , ícone da moda
Interesting video, though the narration and editing seemed too slow. Just a suggestion but this could have been sped up to be under 6 minutes
We'll take that into account! Thanks for the feedback, we're still figuring things out!
she was awesome..
This chancel makes me feel smarter
If you watch the biography of her life she was attachly her aunt taught her to sew at a young age and then she also did sewing at the orphanage
Coco will always be Coco, the past is in the past. I am sure that the war has affected us all in different ways. She is a brilliant designer thru and thru no matter what types of people she came in contact with.......
Eu adoro as fragrâncias meu primeiro perfume favorito é o Chanel número cinco e sempre vou colocar no primeiro lugar eu gosto dela e da moda que ela deixou pra traz adorei
16. She was a lifelong morphine addict.
Where did you find that please, need some references.
Hal Vaughan's book. After the death of Boy Capell, she would take a shot of morphine every night so she could sleep. She maintained that habit for the rest of her life.
ironhills....really? I'm not surprised.
ironhills. Morpine is like baby aspirin in today's choice of variety of narcotics, LMFAO
17. she had a botched abortion as a teen, leaving her esterile, sadly.
I speculate ...
G. Coco Chanel was determined to continue her fashion edification at any cost , one way or another. She probably thought of the Nazis as enemies to her dreams and since she couldn't subside them she cleverly decided to join them to finish what she had started.
Wow my bday is Feb 5.. and 5 is definitely my fav number
Are you going to have a video about Dior?
if i only have the means to have channel items....oh i really love to.
Vanessa Rivera Chanel not Channel
5:37 coco is not on the nazi pictures it's Wallis Simpson and prince edward
agcupcakestudioss correct!
A queen was a Leo why didn’t I know that 🙌😏 and her favorite color is black
She is capricorn..not leo but she is fascinated with lion as it is her spirit animal.
Xojen Mendes and your “Queen” was in love with a Nazi
Niala Adiva we share the same bday (August 19)..she is a leo
Omg I wish I was her😭😭💕💕
Love her.
Coco Chanel is a role model. I admire ver a lot
She definitely is a creative genius and a hard worker, but her early suffering caused her to have apathy towards people she didn't have anything to gain from.
pls make video on louis vuitton...
She got the nerve to question the ability of Cristobal the master of all master!
Chanel blue great one
can you guys make 10 most expensive guitar plz
We have a written article on the topic, but we'll consider making a video also. Thank you for the suggestion!
+Alux.com your welcome thanks too for replying
i want kurt guitar
Am student of NIFT Delhi and want to be like Coco Chanel 🔥🔥
You guys have a 15 things for Chanel to Zara, but nothing about Christian Dior???
I named my cat Coco. Interesting.
Yes. It does change my view of her. I don't question her taste but her affiliations both personal and professional. She must have been a real hard person to be around. Unfortunately most leaders and successful ppl are total jerks. I use Chanel 5 perfume to this day.
I definitely look at her and LV different but who cares I can't afford them yet lol...
I think she is amazing. I’m obsessed with her
Well behaved women seldom make history.
She did what she had to do.
What support Nazi in killing millions of people? What did she do, she turns blind eye on humanity just for her to survive thats being a coward. She should have not supported Nazi.
@@sarahy572 she didn't support the killing neither Nazis. She made favours to them so in need they would return them back. Believe it or not many were like her and in many cases this helped on saving lifes as a favour .
Oh do give it a rest. Knut Hamsun gave his Nobel prize to Himmler, but it doesn't diminish the quality and influence of his writing at all, it merely sheds a new light onto it.
That Extrait perfume cost ($4,600.00) is for THIRTY ounces, NOT ONE OUNCE. It's a huuuuge bottle.....nearly 3 soda cans of perfume for that price! Seven and a half oz cost only $2,050. And that's still a huge bottle. Most large perfume bottles are a standard 3.4 oz. So 7.5 oz is more than twice that much. I don't know any woman who buys perfume in those large sizes. Her 30oz size must be intended for display only.
Long time daily viewer. I figured I’d RE watch. Coco Chanel designed the modern women’s wardrobe.
Perfume & nail polish💜💚💜💚💜
I love everything about Chanel. I think Chanel is class and elegance. People can keep those basic looking Hermes bags, I’ll stick with my Chanel bags.
Yes
Amazing story!. What happened to her mansion.
She used patchouli essential oil for #5 I love it
I was reading the dictionary, I'm really searching for the definition of legend but all I see is the name Coco Chanel.
Nice.
My FAVOURITE PERFUME IS CHANEL 3 AND I DON'T THINK HER RELATIONS WITH GERMAN GUYS IS DEFAULT
I really don't know what her connection with the Nazis was. (The people shaking hands with Hitler are the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, not her) Her detractors say she was a spy and collaborator, others say she wasn't. Its hard to say because it was before my time. I ask myself, what about Wernher Von Braun? What is the difference between Coco and he? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wernher_von_Braun The question is, was she involved in Nazi war crimes? I don't think so. Do I like her? I didn't know her. Do I like her talent, her work and the fact that women don't have to wear corsets any more? Yes, I do. The other questions? I guess that is between her and God and I will not judge.
Can you do Christian Louboutin.
Love HER❤👌
I love her so much..she was a charismatic, intelligent and independent woman..hope I'll get someone like her...hehehe...
If she had to use her sexual allure to get men to help her.......that's not REALLY an "independent woman", but I believe she did the best that she thought herself capable, considering the anti-woman laws at the time
