Hey Eddie I have a 2013 ford fusion 1.6L the transmission has an issue smoothly changing from 2 to 3rd gear on a cold start and once warmed up isn’t so bad. What could be the cause of that? I wanna get this fixed and possibly do it my self as a project. Where would be a good place to start looking if it’s not a simple answer?!
Sooooo not a single of these guys show how you’re supposed to chain the motor up so you’re able to drop the subframe Well done gentleman….one of the most important parts of the whole job 👏👏
Has an upper mount no need to chain it up if you support the motor from below. If you want to chain it up get an engine hanger or you could use a 4”x4” board across the front of the car. But like I said you got an upper mount so you really only have to support the drivers side of the motor.
Have a 2013 Fusion that's starting to slip and shudder sometimes (It's over 200k miles). Thought about doing this until I saw your video and the difficultly dropping the frame, and you have a lift. Without having a lift access I don't think I should attempt this. And, looks like I would need the Snap-on truck camped out at my place, trying to get access to some of the tight spots you pointed out. Anxiously waiting for your followup video on this.
With out a lift the best option would be to take the whole powertrain out the top of the car with a cherry picker. Not ideal either way. These transmissions are not great either. Lots of weak points. Follow up video is coming. And more videos about this transmission are coming. Thanks for watching.
My wife’s car is having a similar problem. It will drive at very low speeds. Dealer said torque converter and pump went out but wanted 3600 to rebuild. I can rebuild it myself but don’t am have a lift at my house. Can the transmission come out through the engine bay? I don’t mind pulling engin/trans as a unit then separating. I just need to get it running so I can get rid of it.
Great video, looking for some advice I have a 2.0L ecoboost long block on order for my 2018 Ford Edge I bought it as a project with intention of putting the revised ecoboost engine in it. It has 150K miles and has been a long distance highway commuter its whole life as a buisness car. It drives fine. Transmission fluid color seems okay. I have found a method to pull engine out the top and leave tranny behind, so I want to hold off on transmission replacement for a couple years and when it starts slipping, pull it and rebuild it with your digital help with these great videos. That said, if you were me and was doing an engine, but not touching the 6f35, would you put a new torque converter in while things are tore apart?
Im working on removing my transmission i would like to rebuilt it but i want to get a used transmission and put it. So i found one that is in a lincon mkz same 8th digit vin number do you know iif it will work on my 2013 fusion lincon is 2015 same 6f35 both oh i forgot to mention both have the 2.0 turbo fwd
Just watched and subscribed. Good video channel. Im a DIY here. 2016 Escape 1.6 AWD Waitng patiently for next videe for assembly. I have one all apart and want to rebuild back together. I not sure what was wrong from seller. I hope I can get parts too. Not much luck for the oil pump and direct drum assembly. Im thinking replace along with kit I hope you find parts and provide link when you assemble yours. Thanks for the good info Also I have no lift either😢

6:04 what is the proper name for that drain plug and what are the torque specs for it?
My bros 13 fusion started acting weird and I told them to bring it in for warranty and it was leaking fluid etc. Cleared up when they fixed it.

do you have to pull the trans all the way to do ta flex plate?
if you don't change the oil pump & the torque converter too it'll just happen again. so yes.

You can but it will be more difficult.

just spoke to a service adviser, says the 6f35 90% of the time fails due to the torque converter
