The funny thing is, yet again, James was absolutely right. Monkeys can just as easily severely damage a human in a confined space as a lion.
You might even be able to keep the Lion calm, monkeys on the other hand, no way you'll stop then from trying to tear you apart piece by piece.
ok but 30 minutes in a confined space with a 10-15kg monkey vs a 100-300kg lion (males usually >200kg, females ~150kg).
With a lion they're going to panic being in a small space too, and regardless you're not going to keep that wild animal calm for 30 minutes
You have a better chance of survival overpowering an aggressive monkey than trying to keep a 100-300kg lion calm enough to not maul you for 30s in a bloody phone box
I have to say I'd go with the lion. Maybe if you're lucky you could stay on its back and it would have difficulty turning around. I can't imagine anything I could do to stop a reasonably-sized enraged monkey from immediately ripping my balls off.

You have to remember that half the stuff they did was so dangerous that they had an ambulance on standby for almost all episodes
And they did end up having to use it several times

Ward Geys, can always tell the moments that weren’t scripted when they’re properly cracking up. As you say, Grand Tour when May tries to move his Merc aquarium and gets soaked. Or the Ukraine one, when May is trying to set off a nuclear missile with his lighter.
Watch the one when James' Hersebulance's back door falls down after going up for a year and smashes on the track.

The Espace is quite fast. And it's so ugly that it becomes beautyful in its own way :D

as a passenger, that car was brilliant, it had the softest seats and suspension, I loved sitting in it. as a driving car, It cant get much worse
If someone asks you why its important for tv co stars to have chemistry, just point to these guys, they’re the very definition.
There's an element of truth to what James said. People often think monkeys are cute and harmless, but they have been responsible for serious, permanent injuries. They're also far more likely to get inside that contraption (obviously, if they hadn't been distracted by the food staff had thrown for them). I've seen them tear bits off cars all the time

I loved the normal challenges where each lad had his own thing, but I really loved when they worked together.
I will treasure the memory of watching this with my dad when it came out, and the two of us absolutely dying of laughter from when the car wash catches fire.
Its cute that Jeremy frantically helps Hammond out of the car when usually they have a philosophy of abandoning each other whenever possible.

@David David the UK was NOT a leader by any means in converting to metric and most brits, at least people over forty, still interchangeably use the imperial system. The reason most of the world followed after UK is because of how many current and former colonies depended on trade. Metric isn't perfect either, there are several non-SI (international standard) units.

They truly are the ultimate brotherhood on tv. Just guys having fun and being themselves. Knowing damn well each challenge or task will end in an a massive disaster. Like Jeremy breaking character knowing they fucked up the section for the van. It’s moments like these they are genuine. Real and understand what clown show they put themselves through for viewer’s entertainment and pleasure. I miss these guys so much man.

I love these men with my whole heart
For me, this segment illustrate what Top Gear is all about. The insane cars, celebrity interviews and all the scripted stuff are all secondary to the chemistry between these three friends. I hope the new show turn out good.

I like how easily you could tell what was off script and what was completely set up back in the day, the extra bit of cheesiness really seals it. The best bit was the monkey food just sitting on top of the car lol.
