I just love how when Ben created this track, he was in the middle of the ITB ost, in which he was challenged to not use synths often, and you can hear SO MUCH into the breach in this.
God the space blocks are such a good mechanic. The C side was actually pretty fun because of them. I honestly don't think one person who played this game didn't like the space blocks

It takes the beautiful synthisized part of the original and weaponizes it against you. It truly feels like 2A was a dream and 2B/2C are a nightmare. The music is so beautiful
2C felt easier than A/B for me, much more of a dream when I knew what was happening. 3C though... That could be classified as a nightmare with rave music and dancing dust bunnies

It goes from the Sever the Skyline, which is techno, in a major key, and has an upwards progressing, to Black Moonrise, a minor keyed, descending theme with synths and hard rock elements. I can see where that fits
This game deserves to be shown a large amount of respect. The amount of thought that went into the ark of the story was incredible and it made it even more enjoyable to play it in an 8-bit world.
I started this game 3 days ago as recommended by one of my dear friends and it intrigued me because I never played 2d platforming games. Two days ago, I decided that I wanted to try this B-side challenge even if I knew fully well that I probably wasn't skilled enough to beat it for the moment and yet, yesterday, probably 9 hours and 1,992 deaths later, I beat it.. and the feeling of fulfillment is indescribable. This game reminds us at the very beginning that "you can do it" and these words kept me going through this B-side challenge and will definitely keep me going through anything in life. Unforgettable experience. Thank you so much for this game and these tracks too of course, stunning. Chapter 2 is my favorite because of the tracks and the levels themselves. Let's just keep going everyone, we can do it. 💙

i swear, Old Site B-Side is designed to be the easiest of the first two B-Side chapters. it's for sure the most obvious to find first, so most people are going to try that first (and usually regret it) still is my favourite 🅱️ soundtrack so far tho
I’d say that celestial resort B-side is easier to find, because the B-side is literally just right next to the intended path though, I’m not sure if the people that found the thing tried to play it, because celestial resort is hard enough already (on first run, at least)

This game's soundtrack does excellently in feeling like an old retro platformer, while just adding soo much more depth and emotion into it. It's just like the game itself. It feels like everything is there for a reason.
You know you’ve experienced something amazing when the freaking bonus content has music this epic. I mean every main story song is as good or better than this, and this is fantastic.
@@cappy8314 I just kinda mean there's a bit more routing/difficulty in figuring how to go about doing things, and slightly less focus on execution. It's not that much, but it is slightly more puzzle based than other C-sides, which are all mostly straightfoward.
I found everything to be pretty straightforward since the 1st and 2nd screen are free and the 3rd gives you a telescope so you know what to do when you get somewhere. Although I have only played the first two C-Sides so maybe its more puzzly compared to the rest and im just completely wrong.

imo center of the earth actually works really well with its level. it combines the calmness of reflection with the energy of confronting yourself. the composer did really well fitting two very different feelings in one song.
The A side mix had a mysitic, ethereal vibe. Which fit the theme of the level being a dream. And despite that it felt welcoming, as if signaling the player to explore. But this, unlike pretty much every B side mix, just feels eerie. 2b was one of my favourite levels in the game. But the strong "get out of here" vibe I was getting from this accidently made this my fastest B side

The space blocks are fun. I remember when I figured out when you dash into them you can just hold on to the other side by facing inward and grabbing onto it, was very helpful.

y'know at first I was stuck at the dream jump puzzle for a very long time, and then when it hit me and i finally learned how to do it, I became a master in it.
This theme is tremendously tense for not being part of the main story.

That last vertical room before the heart though.. my god
for a moment thought i left into the breach open overnight
or that i had just entered the rock homeworlds
I spent most of my time on that final room. No matter how hard i tried, I could never do those wall jumps.
It took me 50 minutes to beat this level. It was great, and the music made it even better.
