You’re going to need an intake plenum(between the turbo out and throttle body)with about two liters or so of volume to build boost. Small displacement, single cylinder engines just can’t do it without intake volume.
try running a ground wire from the battery to the block, the ignition system from factory will be a self contained system that runs of its own power and ground supply so adding in the ecu on an external power and ground could cause the trigger system not to function properly with the ecu. trigger wires are sensitive to background electrical noise and always require a good ground. your sensors will all run off a 5v reference voltage. make sure your 5v and 12v systems stay separated or youll cause yourself dramas like TPS being stuck on 0% or 100% also your air intake and MAP sensors could do wacky things. if your triggering with a hall effect sensor the rising and falling edge of the trigger could not be stable so find the more stable trigger edge and set it up in the ecu. should be a setting for rising and falling if the software is half decent. im assuming it would be a reluctor style trigger so you can always check the gap of the magnetic pickup also make sure it free from any iron filings. if you can get away wit it id also try running two head gaskets and maybe even port out the head to lower compression so you can run more boost! itll be hard to hear knock on such a tiny engine so better safe than sorry. or just go an octane booster additive good luck , i cant wait to see this thing rip!!!
I believe that they both had to add a hot wire somewhere to the ecu or something to be able to get it spark. I would need to go back and rewatch the videos.
Love your build so much so I am litterly building it myself!!! Got a 125 with a three speed in a Tao Tao cart I am turning into a trail cart. Calling it a mini SxS. The fuel injection just arrived Friday. Saving to get the turbo setup next. Thank you so much for the inspiration!
Hi mike, i was wondering if you could maybe give me a price of all the parts, like the fuel injector, turbo, EFI, because i have a Big Boy Rfz 125s and i wanted te do the same to it
I have some advice. those single speed engines with just drive neutral reverse have somewhat weak clutches that can overheat and blow up the whole engine easily. if your clutch/engine does blow out, then get a 4 speed manual 125 for a dirt bike, and that clutch is much stronger and shouldn't overheat the engine. Good Luck!
Where did you get that harness, ECU, throttle body, and injector mate? Also, what size piping did you use from the exhaust outlet on the head to the turbo?
The pie cut stainless exhaust looks epic. Tigging stainless steel releases a ton of toxic fumes that you don’t get with low carbon steel though and you should probably wear a respirator
Nice work. You will need some kind of intake manifold for the turbo to work proper,I saw that from the boosted boys go cart. It’s sort of a boost or air accumulator it helps a lot with turbo one cylinders. Good luck with the build!🤙🏻
Just saw the boosted boys and their turbo shopping cart, they made a sort of intake manifold for the thing. Grind hard plumbing co showed it in their recent video. They said that helped make positive boost. Figured I’d offer the info! Build is looking killer!
I'm glad you got that block for the side of the head. that exhaust is pushing Overkill... Looking forward to hearing that Stainless straight pipe "Ting"
That engine is surprisingly complex for how absolutly tiny it is, essentially a small scale "modern" car engine at this point with all the ECU stuff and fuel injection, really interesting to see! also sick welding, you always say you are a rookie but man watch your old videos and you can see a difference in your skill, can't wait for the stu tu tu tu noises from that comically undersized beast
with the learning curve being for a "fun" project, Imagine what the acquired skill set would allow you to do when one/some/all of the Cars need upgrades...
Omg ive been watching this since the first video, and with every video it just makes me wanna do it to my lil 79cc PhatMoto Bike XD I love your videos man, keep up the great work!!
Don't get tempted to run it in boost without that timing stuff working, even if you have to do a custom trigger or something. I wanna see this thing run and not immediately explode.
It is definitely a timing issue with the injector. Seems to be 180 off. That’s why it’s spitting back out the carb. So your intake valve is closed when it’s spraying. Not sure how to fix your issue on the bike. I can tell u the issue 😂
Bro you should mount the throttle on the engine not with the pipe so the injector can spray the fuel straight in the chamber I think it will run smoother
you’re a legend mike, should definitely mudguard/steel tub the wheels to protect anything harmful materials flicking up and taking out an eye or destroying the engine😂 (glass, rusty metal, rocks etc)
If you know where physical top dead center is on the ignition timing gear, then I don't see how it takes so long for the timing in the ecu to be setup correctly. I haven't seen what timing gear type you use, but in theory if your missing tooth is at 20 degrees before top dead center and you need to advance your timing to 30 degrees before top dead center... You only need 10 degrees of timing advance in the ecu... Generally if the engine does not run at all but it does pop from time to time while spinning quite easily (like yours did)... Your timing is set too late, at that point just advance timing by 10 degrees untill it runs, then make smaller changes untill it runs perfect. If your engine does not spin easily but spins in steps while your battery and starter are in good condition... The. Your timing is set to early and you should do the reverse.
You're awesome bud. You set yourself to something and go nuts till it's complete! Lol. Like each series you do you just go ham uploading every other day. But when you're chillin you post weekly. I love it cause I always have something to watch
@@itsmikelake oh no you are fine. I'm just saying once you get your mind on a project you go nuts. Wish I could set my mind to one thing at a time like that. I'm over here messing with my truck, woman's car, and building my lawn mower. Next is my 212 pred go kart.
Shot for the long video Mike! The excitement is building. Depending on how you're gonna mount the intercooler, I'm almost seeing some Yamaha Banshee vibes 💪👌
So nice seeing the pipecuts up close finally and still, very good job, as you said in the vid aswell that lots of patience is required and you nailed that sir! ❤
This thing is getting out of hand! And i'm absolutely loving it. Front mounted intercooler next!
where did you find the ecu?
Methanol injection 🎉
Add a oil cooler to inline with the turbo drain
Very old school Mighty Car Mods feeling narration, I like it!
My man, thank you! I've always admired their work
You’re going to need an intake plenum(between the turbo out and throttle body)with about two liters or so of volume to build boost. Small displacement, single cylinder engines just can’t do it without intake volume.
I'm pretty sure long intake tubing with an intercooler should achieve the same results.
Your nuts bro love wat your doing been watching
Since 12 day of mikemus and I just can't get enough bro love al the way from the from pommy land
I appreciate ya so much bro! I really appreciate the support and kind words 🥰. Shoutout the poms! ❤️

Hay that oil plate is for a oil cooler it's ment to loop as I believe it feeds the oil to the head
Bro can I please have that thing 😍, it looks really clean just wiring needs a little fix, keep up the work builds bro
Grind hard plumbing and boosted boiis have Lil 4 stroke turbo karts and they run a intake setup you might benefit from ✌️
I believe that they both had to add a hot wire somewhere to the ecu or something to be able to get it spark. I would need to go back and rewatch the videos.
These drift cart video series are a absolute banger :)
Adjust the magnet if you want change to injection,
I think it needs oil cooler
Wow mate! I could watch this build forever 😊 Good job 🤠👍
Part 4 is HERE! ua-cam.com/video/pWLM3q_ZcLA/v-deo.html
The aftermarket ecu might need to see home or tdc to give an accurate spark. Like a notch or a missing tooth in the pickup for crank sensor.
This is spot on. We'll get this figured out when we wire up the kart properly. Thanks for the advice!

I'd love to watch another series with a bigger engine😁
Bigger again?! What size? Haha
Hi mike, i was wondering if you could maybe give me a price of all the parts, like the fuel injector, turbo, EFI, because i have a Big Boy Rfz 125s and i wanted te do the same to it
I built my son's Thumpstar 110cc pit bike into a full size 140cc dirtbike and I don't think he could handle it if I turbo it...😂😂😂

this things bloddy mint
Thanks bro!

Sounds like the ecu is set on 2 cylinders. Sounds like it’s popping every other turn. May check that!!
The pie cut stainless exhaust looks epic. Tigging stainless steel releases a ton of toxic fumes that you don’t get with low carbon steel though and you should probably wear a respirator

What is that fuel pump type called? Im trying to 3d print one but i dont know which pump type is good for that.
Just saw the boosted boys and their turbo shopping cart, they made a sort of intake manifold for the thing. Grind hard plumbing co showed it in their recent video. They said that helped make positive boost. Figured I’d offer the info! Build is looking killer!
Cheers Ben! Hopefully our front mounted intercooler & piping will work in the same way 😁
A plenum chamber?
@@itsmikelake oh ya, that’s actually a really good point. Still adding a lot of volume, I think that’ll do just fine!
hello your project is very cool . I want to know where did you buy the plate for the oil system plz ?
Have a question if have a min did u make it pass though carb fuel delivery set up try doing something like that before
Adding Voiceover adds so much to the quality of your videos. Definitely a great call there
Thank you bro! The editing process takes much longer but is so worth it.
You should try to use a garrett GT06 turbo instead, more boost and spool you should have
You are amazing! Great job!
Thank you!
Should drop some mini wheelie bars on the back to add to the insane look and styling ❤
Just a suggestion i run 12 inch go kart rims on rear to fix back from being narrower than front
Dude this thing is epic!
Thank you bro! End result will be 🔥🔥
W mike
Add drift tires is called this put plastic tubes on the tires
I'm glad you got that block for the side of the head. that exhaust is pushing Overkill... Looking forward to hearing that Stainless straight pipe "Ting"
Overkill is exactly what I’m going for 😈. I can’t wait to hear how it sounds!
Use some heat wrap for the exhaust so you don't burn your legs etc
I love this series, great job man
Same bro. Thank you!
What frame can I use to build this build??
Are turbo charged 1,2,5 😂 got me dying
Can we get a better overview of the wiring from the the crank sensor wire to the efi
Did the kit come.with a trigger wheel or did you buy one separately that could be the prob could be reading wrong
I had to send a pic of my trigger wheel for the kit. So there’s a possibility they set it up wrong 🤔

Can always heat wrap the exhaust. Couple different colours now too. Can look pretty good.
Agree! I just got it back from Bailey welding it though and it’s an absolute piece of art 👀
thats fricken awesome 😂 🔥 🔥
with the learning curve being for a "fun" project, Imagine what the acquired skill set would allow you to do when one/some/all of the Cars need upgrades...
Exactly my thoughts also! Many tig welds incoming 👀

I love your videos man, keep up the great work!!
Haha sorry that i'm giving you bad (good?) ideas! Thanks for supporting 😁
little 15 gallon jug r something
Idea needed to place a turbo on a 600 RR
Your work is awesome bro keep it up 🇹🇹
Bro can I get one of those things
I'm not an engineer, but isn't the exhaust diameter too large? Do you think this engine can properly fill up this exhaust?
With a turbo setup, you want to let the exhaust exit as quickly as possible. So this exhaust size is fine :)
I've always loved this mini monster but I think the frame is beginning to letting the whole build down...
I have plans 👀
The pie cut method is aka lobster tail, or lobster back, (for obvious reasons!).
It looks awesome!
That's the one! Cheers :)
Don't get tempted to run it in boost without that timing stuff working, even if you have to do a custom trigger or something. I wanna see this thing run and not immediately explode.
Don’t worry, I got you on that one! We’ll make sure we do it all properly 👊🏻
Was that a red mk7 fiesta I see 😍
Love your content, can't wait to see the drift kart when it's done, maybe even at Calder???
Thanks! Absolutely we’ll have to run her at Calder and get a top speed reading 👀
It is definitely a timing issue with the injector. Seems to be 180 off. That’s why it’s spitting back out the carb. So your intake valve is closed when it’s spraying. Not sure how to fix your issue on the bike. I can tell u the issue 😂

@@itsmikelake yea. Never really tuned efi. I could tell ya if it was a carb 😂
Bro you should mount the throttle on the engine not with the pipe so the injector can spray the fuel straight in the chamber I think it will run smoother
Unfortunately it has to mount on the wee plenum as the throttle would foul on the engine itself
When’s new skyline vid next?
First one let’s go baby
hey where did you get the kit
you should put the rubber tyres on the front and the plastic tyres on the back so it drifts better
They’re all rubber tyres at the moment. We have plastic sleeves for the rear 😛
My son and I love watching your channel, this project is our favorite!
Thanks Charlotte! Say gidday to your son for me 😁👋🏻
Sending the bro love keep it up god bless 🫡🏴

Trying to pump out the longer vids for you guys! Whilst still keeping them entertaining haha. The FMIC is going to be 🔥
what ecu brand?
Attach a fog machine to the back to make it look rocket powered 😂
🤣🤣

Just trying to follow in your footsteps! Thank you bro 🙏🏻
timing could be 360degree off been a 4stroke
🤔 I’ve put this in my notes. I’ll check it out when we rewire the setup and try and run her again 😁
Holy hell just found this build. This is awsome!
Thanks for watching bro!
This is amazing I really want to do this to my bike 😊 you have done an amazing job👍
this thing is dope! beware the trans on these motors are super weak
Noted! I think this will be quite the learning curve haha
Bloody awesome❤
Where did you get the injection swap from
Alibaba 👊🏻
Can i ask about m50b30 what's the combination
M54b30 crank pistons and rods in an m52 block 👊🏻
0:48 is oil supply and return so you dont need return line to oil filler cap
Ohhh so can run both lines back to that plate! Sweet
i bet you wont read mine :( i love the series keep going
I read them alllll bro! Thanks for the love
Once you get it running you should add 2 step!!!!!!!
This is 100% guaranteed happening
My favourite youtube series by far
Thank you bro 🥰
Looks SICK bro! cant wait to hear it and see it moving. keep it up dude!!
I love the build me and my friend was going to build a go kart but can’t
Love the vids
meanwhile its spooling a dry turbo lol
You clearly missed the part of the video where we pre lubed the turbo with oil 👀😛
Put a bigger karburator on it and a lighter stator 😊
Fuel injected is the way!
Engine link?
Damn this things gonna be fast 🤘
I hope so 😍
Dude, what is that ECU? epic build haha
Haha thanks! Link is in the description of the 2nd video 😁
finally 🙏
your magneto is lacking firing mark
I actually had 2 CDI's wired into the loom by mistake!
mike you needed to have some green neon lighting over the gokart and scream 'Its alive" lol
Hahaha green neon underglow?! 🤣
@@itsmikelake well you did have the Frankenstein thing going there for abit 😂😅
When are you going to add the nitro back
Let's get it running nicely with the turbo first haha
I like the pipe you made but it needs a plenum to help create pressure due to it being one cylinder
🤔 I think the plenum needs to go into the charge pipe
@itsmikelake it does....... but yeah I wasn't talking bout the exhaust
where did you get the pie cuts from?
A friend cut them for me 👊🏻
