Curry is basically a gravy with spices and it's specific to different regions. I'm an East Indian curry fan, that's my preference over all curries including the Caribbean. I find a Japanese curry to be on the sweet side. Curries overall share similar spices but that altered too based on the region.

We're sitting here right now eating this exact meal and YUUUUMMMM!!!! You didn't lie about this shrimp. Perfection. I'm looooving these pickled veggies. The soup was a nice light corn/rice/chicken flavored starter. Very nice people and excellent service. I'm hype to FINALLY actually try one of your recs ❤❤❤❤😂

That Korean corn porridge is the stuff your mom would make for you if you were sick as a kid in Korea. It's kinda like a sweeter, more watery polenta.

JL: what a s uper stop! Definitely on my next Philly visit as I love Korean food. The Chicken katsu @ $13 is a steal, two cutlets with sides! The 8 shrimp @ $9 is a killer as some Korean spots in Miami charge $8 just for one tempura shrimp! Great "hood" Korean stop in Oak Lane!

We walked to school in 3-5ft of snow thru the woods to elementary school on kodiak Island Alaska, you hoped some 6th graders left tracks ahead, but also the elementary had a defrost room with lockers to change clothes into dry clotheths boots etc, that was 60s and early 70s.Great memories.Pants wet and stiff as a board.

That whole area on the Cheltenham Ave corridor between burb and city has a large Korean population. I used to love going to the Assi market up there. There is also an amazing Korean chicken wing place on C.A. towards Tookany Creek. Cafe Soho.

I am Japanese. I happened to come across this video, but this is not tempura. Tempura is made by mixing water, wheat flour, and eggs to create a batter that is used to coat ingredients before deep-frying in oil. This shrimp is coated with breadcrumbs and deep-fried, so in Japan, it is called 'Ebi Fry' (fried shrimp).
In many cases, Japanese restaurants outside of Japan are often owned and operated by non-Japanese individuals. Unfortunately, it is regrettable that such mistakes are common in these establishments.
