These are sports drinks, meant to be used when doing sports, in sports you need carbs, in sports you need to replace your electrolytes fast, which carbs help do.
They are garbage as sports drinks too because even with all that sugar they still have a very low electrolyte content. The whole sports drink thing is just a bunch of marketing they are really just a non carbonated soft drink.
Gatorade still definitely has it’s time and place. If you’re drinking a Gatorade everyday at your office job, of course that isn’t good. People who have done strenuous activity are gonna appreciate replenishing some sugars

Then I would rather have real sugar or cane sugar then the bad ingredients they put in to make it sugar free. Look up online for homemade electrolyte drinks. Tons out there. My mix I use for a gallon 4 cups real orange juice 2 cups cold black tea 1/4 cup lemon juice 1 spoon of kosher sea salt The rest water It's cheap and I drink this gallon daily with more water and some salt.
Tbh look for “Gatorade Fit” they use stevia like bro recommend, only Gatorade drink I recommend even then the zero sugar ones they make sweet with shit like sucralose… biolyte is a good one too (has 10g added sugars) and they make zero sugar Liquid IV powder now too, always check what sweeteners they’re using. You don’t need sugar to metabolize electrolytes
If you’re in the midst of an extreme endurance event, yes, totally. If you’re simply looking to hydrate and replenish electrolytes then that sugar is not doing anything to help you.
I ran for the Florida track club back in the 70's when Dr. Cade was working on the formula for his drink. The samples we were given are a far cry from what Stokely did to the product after the university sold the rights.

LMNT, Jigsaw, Ultima, Trace Minerals, even Gatorade actually has some good options, just not their flagship product. Look for something with no artificial sweeteners, no artificial colors, and a moderate amount of sugar content. There’s a lot of good stuff out there!

What about sodium amount? If you’re not an endurance athlete/sweating a lot should you avoid brands that have 500+ mg per serving? Re-lyte for example is supposed to be good but I’m just working out moderately for 30-60 minutes per day. Do I need that much extra salt?
Sugar really isnt bad when you are in the middle of working out or an intense sport. If you are bulking it can be great especially if you add a pinch of sea salt to your Gatorade. If your cutting, its best to look for a less calorie dense option.
Dont elctrolytes need small amount of glucose to be absorbed right? I use NOW Effervescent or something, I stay clear from bottled electrolyte drinks, but these seem ok to me, they help me .

I'm not a scientist or anything but I'm sure you'd not want to have a hit of sugar either because it would spike sugar + insulin levels and cause you to crash really quickly. You'd be better off using long chain natural sugars or just eating something with protein and carbs in for a sustained energy boost

Absolutely not. Watch Food Theory's video on it. If you don't want to, just know that the mixture of electrolytes is wrong. The ones your body needs less of are the ones that Prime has the most of. If you do an intensive workout in a hot day then drink prime expecting to replenish your lost electrolytes you're more likely to die if nothing else
Get carbs from something else. Unless you’re running a marathon you don’t need any sort of carbs from a Gatorade you can easily get the carbs elsewhere in your diet
