Thank you! I love Konstantin! He's one view point on the world and I love hearing it! I watch him every week. You Aussies also provide a different perspective as well! I love the wine world presented by UA-cam these days!
Konstantin's channel was the only wine channel that I subscribed to until he had your gang on about 8 months ago. Now I have two wine channel subscriptions! Keep up the good and entertaining work!
"he's not the hero we want but the hero we need". His video spreading awareness on light tainting whites taste is so important. Not the first, but definitely the one citing more sources and that test he did was amazing. He and No Sediment rock.
Traminette is a hybrid that makes lovely wine. Aromella (which is very new) is nice too. For some reason Gewurztraminer makes good hybrids. A local winery (Finger Lakes) did a Traminette/Seyval blend that I absolutely love. The reason Cornell U has a hybrid program is to create varieties that resist weather/disease much better naturally so fewer chemicals are needed in the fields. I don't like "natural" wines, but I fully support "natural" farming because I like having water that I can drink and land that isn't polluted.
I was in Munich for business which had gone very well. I invited a few of my German colleagues to a nice restaurant. I ordered a Kabinett Riesling to have with a very nice river fish. The locals were puzzled, discovered I seem to know a bit about the wine style and murmured assent. They loved the wine. I could tell they were quite puzzled.
just starting the video - as an aussie living in Germany I will say I don't typically love German food, however Spaetzle with bacon / cabbage / onion / cheese is banging, especially with a richer spatlese or auslese.
The reason why the Japanese community in Düsseldorf is so big is because nearly 600 Japanese companies are having subsidiaries there, or even Europe HQs. A very detailed Wikipedia article "Japaner in Düsseldorf" has all the details (a shorter version "Japanese community of Düsseldorf" is available in English).
Konstantin doesn't remember well and proceeds to share the genealogy and that it was released in 1882. I had the same experience every time I asked a German if they spoke English 😂
Thanks for heaving me!

Haha! We love Konstantin too! We'll keep bringing the good vibes as long as we have folks like you who enjoy it!

Aw you're the best - thank you so much!
Two magnificent legends discussing wine, great vid...
Thank you so much!!!
KB is the best, as an Aussie I was wrapped to see Brendan and Kon show up in my feed this morning. Captivated.
@markcordwell2625 as a Yank, I was thrilled, as well!
Haha you're most welcome - thanks so much for the kind words!
Oh you're the best! Big love!

He's so good - and constantly thinking of how to make the world tastier!

Oh! Do you think that's because they don't think of it much themselves and were surprised that an outsider showed some interest?

Oh hey hey! Thanks for the comment :) any other German Food/Wine matches you can think of?
Love to see collabs with my favorite wine people! Thanks for the interesting conversation!
Our absolute pleasure! Thanks so much for watching!
Zweigelt. Two great parents. Born in 1922.
NO WAY - just had to google this - HOW AWESOME!
Crazy how Konstantin was talking about Müller Thurgau as I just had one last night from Trentino
Haha right?! There seems to be a rising wave of MT currently.
It’s Konstantin Bomb!
BOOM! Hell yeah it is!
Would love to have the audio for these chats on a podcast feed guys!
We're considering it - if we get enough interest, we might do it one day - but we're video-first!
Konstantin you said in your "BEST wines of 2023" that you would definitely drink that bottle of Kopp 2013 Spätburgunder in 2024. Better open it soon 😅
Oh now that's a mighty memory of yours! Haha!
Earned another subscriber right now. :)
You're the best! Welcome to the channel! Thank you so much!

Oh really?! Why in Dusseldorf and not in Cologne?
Fun vid!
Thank you! Was a fun chat too!
Hell yea
Yeet!
Thanks, enjoyed the vid, first time on the channel. I’m familiar with Konstantin’s YT channel but yoy don’t tell us who the Aussie guy in the hat is.
Ah! That's Brendan Carter - one of the hosts of WFTP! Welcome to the channel!
the biggest japanese community outside Japan is in Sao Paulo :)
I think he meant in Europe* - but that begs the question - WHY Sao Paulo!? How did that happen?

HAHAHA! So humble.
