I don’t know if it’s just me being a huge Hendrix fan but that octave pedal sounds great and it has a killer Hendrix vibe. All of these pedals seem to sound great. The Supro amp helps of course. I’ll buy one just for the hell of it. I already have the band of gypsys mini fuzz, regular large red germanium fuzz face and a uni vibe but why not buy more.
I thought that same thing when my bandmates and I watched the excellent episode on the Gibson/Hendrix packages that weren't released on the Troglys show. I just couldn't imagine Jimi putting his name/signature/likeness on what seemed like a "starter pack" dripping in KISS level merchandizing. Jimi's half-sister is running the show as I recall... shame on her. Not sure she sees the artist or the art, only a $ with a headband & fro glued to it.
So these are the "authentic" pedals used by Hendrix? FINALLY!!! After all these decades..., we finally get the actual "authentic" pedals that Hendrix himself would use! I never saw these little tiny pedals being used at Hendix's feet, but they could have been obscured by the big honkin' Uni-Vibes, Fuzz Faces, CryBabies, Octavias, etc... that he would use as well... But at least... Finally... The "authentic" models that Hendrix used, the very exact same "authentic" little pedals that Hendrix himself "authentically" used himself... I just wonder though...... If these were the actual "authentic" little models that Hendix himself would use..., then why were they not available from the late 60's, or at least early 70's? No matter... At least we have Hendrix's true "authentic" pedals now...
With a sound like that, why the heck not? You don't have to play his licks, but that sound is huge. Those mini pedals are totally what pedal board people want today.
Well despite all the complaining here...a switchable Ge/Si fuzz with built-in switchable buffer, in a mini format with a cool pic of one of my favourite guitarists on it all for not a stupid price? ...count me in. I’ve been looking for such a fuzz for months now, and soon it will exist. Looking forward to some nice demos using a strat or tele at least.
I have Band of Gypsies Fuzz that came out two years ago and it IS the Octavio without the octave circuit. It's a killer pedal, especially with it having a tone knob, but... The MXR Sub Machine has a killer fuzz with octave up and octave down functions and it registers notes across the whole fretboard not just above the 10th fret. I think the Sub Machine is discontinued but is well worth finding. And it's screamin' loud PURPLE. MXR is the best.
I have an original roger Mayer Octavia and the octave is the only good part of it, fuzz is terrible, have to turn that part of it off and use a fuzz face into it
I love Dulop products. They speak for themselves in quality and value. They always have. So they certainly don't need the cheesy marketing on display here. Not even at a NAMM show where cheese is on full display from the smaller manufacturers who have to put on a freak show in the hope of getting noticed by the buyers. Dunlop is legendary and doesn't need to dig up Jimi's body to sell their products to anyone over the age of twelve. It's kind of gross and sad when you think about it. Dunlop is way too good for this. ...and I, for one, don't want anyone's "sauce" anywhere on, or near, my gear.
Great sounding pedals. Man, I want that octave sound/fuzz/uni-vibe and just rock the hell outta some Jimi Hendrix, maybe some “Wild Thing” from Monterey Pop. And that new Cry Baby sounds good too. That would be a nice switch for certain songs. That guy for Dunlap is fun. He’s got that extra something, that inner-child in him is rocking and having a blast.
The Band of Gypsy's pedal is now in stock at Sweetwater. Ordered it today....looking forward to checking it out. I assume a noise gate will be essential for live use yes?
Gotta catch em all. Seriously though not bad at all, couldn't make out the uni vibe too well unfortunately but I do have my heart set on getting the JHS Unicorn, now that is a great uni vibe
Selling something on "speculation!" Just because a well known pedal maker is involved doesn't mean Jimi used it. Give me a break. Hendrix never had a buffer, not authentic.
@@AveMcree It keeps the signal clean, retains tone. It's especially useful if you use a lot of pedals. You want the guitar and amp to sound the same with or without pedals.
I thought they sounded really good especially for the price point but didnt get a good rep of how the Vibe sounded cuz the fuzz was on He should have done a sort of Little Wing type clean segment Im sure some more demo's will be out very soon of the individual pedals Go MXR/Dunlop :)
Just use the Dirt Deeds Seymour Duncan pedal.. Ur better off with it, sounds amazing, u have an EQ and it doesnt change ur guitar tone just adds from subtle OD to a Full on hendrix style Fuzz...
Oh, and while I'm here... This demo should've been conducted using the seriously great Fender Jimi Hendrix Monterey Strat. (Which Zzounds still has in stock as of right now, 19JUL2019).
Oh I just noticed the guy playing guitar of Hendricks pedals is not done on astrat . OR on the Hendricks Monterey Stratocaster , or 2019 the purple Stratocaster come on now can y'all do this vid over . Thanks TroyFrost / Troyster 😎 CoolRiffs 😎 Cool 🎸 🤘🤘 🤘

It's a shame in way how they keep making money off of him. Same pedals, smaller enclosures! All they DO is rehash/feel stuff he never used. I just hope his family is getting money for all this. 😥
When demoing fuzz pedals of all species, not palm mute chugging like an old Hemi engine camming out hard enough to rattle your granny's windows AT ALL and only hot dog lead wanking ensures a "No Sale" from me. Don't describe a tone as "stoney" without throwing a goddamn bong for the Devil and wrecking some necks.
This video just oozes professionalism, doesn’t it.?. 😉 lol Not mad at the prices on the Hendrix pedals, tho! Wish they’d stop milking/raping his memory, but at least they’re being ethical-ish with the pricing! 😖😝
I wish he would've demonstrated with a totally clean and dry amp sound. All four pedals sounded the same, A big noisey blotch, because of the overdriven Amp settings. I really wanted to hear before and after the pedal; Clean and dry before you turn the pedal on and then hear the difference that the pedal makes.
Don't understand why the guy doing the Jimi Hendrix pedal demo is not using a fender stratocaster, or a guitar with single coils....that was Jimi preference. .....single coils right....the wrong guitar totally
Grasshopper, you expect authenticity where crass marketing is the reality. When you can come to terms with the grotesque slime that is the music industry, you will snatch the pebble from my hand.
Never been a fan of fuzz, the univibe sounded amazing though. Wish Hetfield was throwing some white fangs out at my show, i was at the front rail of the snake pit. I caught 4 picks, one from each band member.

I guess playing a Strat for demoing a Hendrix pedal would be crazy, eh?
Thumbs down 3 seconds in!!
but they needed a Gibson for the Authentic© Hendrix
The tone is in the hands, and Jimi also played Gibson guitar's so it work's for me.
i hate myself for wanting all of these.
Hahaha!! Me too!!!
This guy is on the Agnesi Sauce.
This was a fantastic segment. i was ready to dismiss this as expensive crap shoved in a pretty box but Bryan knew what they were and how to use them.

They put so much effort into making these pedals sound like Hendrix yet they don't even demonstrate them with a strat...
coz you wanna be authentic bro
Exactly!!!!
The semi-hollow, Reverb and delay complete the picture, because as Jimi always said, "hey bro, gotta have a little sauce!"
Great point. And anyone who has played a hollowbody knows they sound completely different.
