- In this video I replace the stator cover on a 2018 GSXR 750. This process will be the same for most of the late model 750s and 600s. 2006 - 2019.

Thanks for the video it helped me change mine. I should have listened to the torque wrench aspect cause I broke off the bolt head to one of the top stator cover bolts. Not too big a deal as it doesn’t leak and it’s hidden by the fairing so I’ll just end up riding it until I either attempt to remove the broken bolt or just get a new stator cover and actually use a torque wrench this time
Really appreciate you sharing your knowledge to help others .
Thanks,
Eric in Kissimme.
Thank you for watching
Thanks you for this video, i changed the stator whitout problem! Bye bye from Italy 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
This is a throw in the dark, but if im guessing right, south bay? Id be down to take a look, supply parts, will tinker
Amazing video and break down. Ive got a small leak around the stator. I used gasket filler. What could be causing this issue?
The cover might be warped. Check it for flatness in a piece of glass
thank you so so much for the detailed video. had no problems and am back on the road
Glad it helped!
you should link to the torque specs and any products used to make it easier for me to find.
Thanks a lot!
Your welcome
will the stator cover leak if you don’t use any gasket sealer?
It can at the seam
Do not over tighten these bolts I broke off the oil galley bolt now I'm down until the new stator cover and bolt comes in. 3 dollars for the bolt and 11 dollars to ship it! Already was down a week waiting on the stator and rectifier now almost another week 😔😔😔
Thanks for the comment
this was great video. thanks
Thanks for watching
How much does the replacement stator cover cost?
In my ststaer cover i had 3 washers 😮😮 1 before the bearing and 2 at the very end after the idler pulley 😮😮😮😮 you said that is only suppose to have 2 ?!
I don’t remember on this particular motorcycle. Look up the parts fiche for your specific make and model
I’m having and issues where I’m getting no power to my fuel pump after replacing it and I took a picture of it when I took it out so I can install it back properly. I was only able to get it to prime once before that issue began
Where do those two hoses that connect to the gas tank go?
Did u figure it out?
@@thatr6814 yeah it just breather tubes don’t connect to anything they just kinda hang around lol
My bike headlight flickers at about 8/10k rpm and above when I’m going through the gears. What could be the issue ?
2018 GSX-R1000
Thank you.
Probably the regulator. But I would check battery connections first
Would it be the same for a gsx 250r 2015??
Not exactly the same. But the same principle usually applies
Is the procedure the same for my 2005?
Should be similar
Quick lock tite would be best to use? I hear red and you mentioned blue so I’m congmfused
Red for fasteners that are going into steel. Blue for aluminum. This is a general rule with exceptions
@@empcycleworks thanks man I appreciate your reply
Could this part keep the engine from actually starting turning over to an idle? I have an K4 600. Ive got fuel, air and spark. Cranks all day long just wont run.
Probably the relay fam
Not unless the pickup coil is built in. Usually just that can be replaced
i just replaced mine now its has a really slow start i charged the battery but i dont know what im doing wrong
The battery could be the issue
Also could be the starter
I just fixed an oil leak on my K7 750 stator cover. After assembling, bike drags when cranking to a point where i got to push to get it running. Battery is good had it checked out. Starter all good as well. Any ideas? Im thinking it could be a bad earthing cable somewhere but I did not mess with any wiring.
Hey Bro, i have an k8 gsxr 1000, do you know If i can buy an k7 ir k9 stator to replace the k8 one?
Sorry I do not. Best to call the dealer.
After installing the stator, I hear a sound coming from it. What do you think the issue is?
Probably installed wrong
